Melanie: You are one pound under your goal for this 6 weeks! Holy crap! 16 lbs in 6 weeks. Are you feeling amazing?
Verda: Remember the serenity prayer. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Do the best you can with dealing with your email account, but ultimately it's just some bad person causing trouble, and there isn't really anything you can do to make bad people want to be good. I'm sorry you have to deal with it though.
Cathy: Welcome back! It sounds like you got a nice big kick start and you are back on track! You're the third person I know who is training a puppy right now. I keep saying the next dog I get is going to be a puppy because my two were rescued at 1 year old and 3 years old and they have some habits that I haven't been able to break in 3 years. But puppy potty training sounds pretty awful too. At least it doesn't last too terribly long.
Patti: Even with all of the craziness going on in your life, you're still only one pound away from your 6-week goal! That's awesome!
Susan: I think what you said about the Oreos was very insightful for me. It was much easier for me to avoid them entirely than try to eat one serving. I wasn't thinking of it that way yesterday, but I will definitely think of it that way in the future. There really are some things I just avoid. Like donuts. I love them. If I start on them, I'm just going to keep wanting more and more. But really, my life is just fine if I don't eat donuts. I don't crave them unless I get started on them, and most other foods I can eat in small amounts without going crazy.
AmyLou and Tiff: You are my heroes. I maintained my first year of law school, and then fell apart the past two years. You've both got school and you're losing weight. That is no small task.
Lulabelle: Congrats on making it into the 140s!!
Lauryn: Welcome back to the weight loss wagon! No sweat over the soda. I even planned a beer into my food tonight! :drinker: I also love jogging. Now that I'm in the 220s, I'm going to start jogging again. I broke my foot when I was 13 and this is about the highest weight I can be to start jogging again without my foot hurting. I can't wait until the first time I hit my jogging groove again. It feels SO good!0 -

Ali, I DO feel great, thank you!!! I'm at the beginning of my journey and have alot to lose so it's coming off fairly easy right now. I'm just eating clean and getting my excercise in and it's working for me now. I was extremely suprised that I had such a great loss when I weighed on Tuesday......I've been horribly worried about the holidays but since I came through Thanksgiving I know I can handle this month:drinker:

Tell us a little about yourself.
Me in brief: 28 y/o newly single mother to a 4 year old diva-in-training . Just made it through my 'rough patch' and getting back into the swing of a happy life and back to eating right and exercising. I've lost 50lbs in 2 years.... slow and steady. I'm in no rush to the finish line. What I've lost has stayed off, even when I've backslidden, and that makes me happy!!
We'll be starting the new challenge next Tuesday, I guess. (I am bad with dates, haha.) We officially weigh in on Tuesdays, and some of us unofficially weigh in on Fridays.... as motivation to kick us through the weekends. In the beginning we listed our daily menus, but now you can see that by visiting each other's food diaries, I guess. We list receipes, talk exercise, talk life, and support each other. he got into something or something didn't agree with him. so he couldn't help himself. i think he is potty trained now. at least what dog goes out in the pouring rain to poop and pee in the cold dark morning. we figure it was a can of dog food. it was after he had it for dinner, last night and the night before. it's in the trash now. i felt bad so stopped and bought him a new stuffed toy to snuggle with. spoiled little dog.
yea, kristen charleston got more than 6" in less than 12 hours. the city streets sit real close to water level. so this much rain can do some damage. they closed the college and some store, cause they flood. i live about 20 east of charleston.

Thanks Phoenix_Rising! Well I am 26 about to be 27 in two weeks. I recently moved to Hawaii to be with my fiancé. Since being here I have put back on about 20 of the 60 I had lost. Hey Sixers!!! Sorry I haven't posted in a while I don't know how I forgot to log on here but I was doing sooooo many other things like getting a workout plan for december and planning meals and just getting myself all aligned for the last month of the year. I must say I'm back to my money jar and I'm back to journaling and I have been writing my meals down (kinda following..lol) but just trying to go back to what works for me. I weighed in I'm up another pound 196.5 but I'm not tooooooooooooooooooooo (The O's are the amount of worry I had but is gone do to my new plans lol) worried. Every day is a new day to reach my goals and stay focused on my dreams.
Every day this month I am doing a magic 100 routine:
25 push ups
25 jumping jacks
25 crunches
25 squats..................just to keep me going! .... so far no complaints but its just day two.

Hi Sixers! It is soooooo nice to read about your day and how we are going to do another six weeks! I had a super day! I ate in my calorie range and I had a really tough 1 1/2 hr workout (eliptical, treadmil and full body weightlifting)! I am wiped out, still do not have my email issue resolved ERRRRR makes me soooo mad but I did get things cancelled, redone and blocked etc;; Life could surely be worse, at least I still have MY identity! Take care of yourself and good night!

Hey ladies!!
So I got to curious today and weighed in (technically I don't have class on Fridays so today is kind of my Friday haha). And I"m at 150 exactly, which means, for those that were with the challenge way back when last winter, i am one pound away from where my best weight has been at 149!! I hope i can get down to that this week and then maybe down to my next big goal of 147 (Junior year of college weight, sadly before this group, the last time i remember being able to tell you how much i weighed!)

I can have a great day, a hard workout at the gym, get home and I totally forget! But I do try and do some crunches whenever I think of it...help get rid of the baby belly!

Everyone else...good morning!
SO...I want to vent a little if it's okay. My husband is a wonderful guy, and last night we were talking about becoming more fit and healthy (since he has definitely gained plenty of sympathy weight, and now that he's home with our little one for the winter, he's been making very poor food choices and over-eating). He was mentioning how good I looked before I got pregnant...toned and for the first time in my life getting definition to my abs. Can I get there again? I don't regret becoming pregnant one bit...it's the best thing that's ever happened to me, but it makes me so frustrated that I let my body get so out of shape during the pregnancy. I SO hope that I can get back to where I was. Having a c-section has left a scar (with the added scar-tissue) under my belly and is going to make it hard to re-shape that area. Plus, I have all those lovely stretch marks on my stomach (gotta love those:grumble: ). So...I am facing a HUGE challenge to get myself back into shape! I have about 30 pounds to get back to my pre-preggo weight, and then another 20 after that to reach my goal. SO...50 pounds in total. Do you think I can lose the 30 in 6 months? That would be 9 months to get back to my regular weight (it took my 9 months to gain it). Maybe that's unrealistic. I don't know. I want to set some good goals for myself. AND I'm technically not supposed to diet while breastfeeding (they say to eat a minimum of 1800 calories per day). Which is fine if I don't factor in the calories I burn from my workouts! (I'm burning SO many more calories right now as I'm not in as good shape and my HR is higher). SO...any advice or encouraging words would be helpful so I can figure out the goals I want for our next challenge!

Kristin, every woman's body is different, so I think you CAN reshape and reform your body. HOWEVER, my personal experience...... I gained 60lbs with my pregnancy, after already being at 185lbs to start with. It took me until Kiddo was 2 to get to my prepregancy weight (I wasn't dieting then). HOWEVER, I have the c-section scar (and a couple other abdomenal surgery scars) and those horrid stretch marks. It's taken me a LONG TIME to accept it. I will never have a flat stomach, I will never have a 6 pack. I rarely say 'never' but I know this, and I've accepted it. Even if I were able to magically get a toned, non-stretched out stomach, I still wouldn't show it off due to my stretch marks. BUT I have the greatest, most wonderful daughter..... and as you know, there is nothing in the world we wouldn't do for our little princesses. Since you are ready to go back at it full swing from the get go and were in shape before, I think you might be able to get back to where you were before. (I was not there before, nor did I act quickly enough afterwards.) But if you see, like me, that you will never have 'that stomach' again.... count your blessings for that healthy kiddo and don't worry. :flowerforyou:0

I worked out last night. I pushed myself so hard on the treadmill. I am absolutely proud of myself. After not working out in quite some time, I pushed out 3 intervals of 6 minute jogging with 4 minute walking in between!!! Afterwards, I did my stretching, which is like a 5-7 minute mini-yoga session. It's the best part of my workout.... stretching all those muscles, closing my eyes, focusing inward, breathing deeply. I love it.
I had to fight off the Binge Monster last night. I meet with my attorney today regarding custody and claims that I'm an unfit mother (omgosh, can't even begin to tell you about all THAT drama, the most horrible lies you have ever in your life heard!) so I was stressed last night. I ate dinner and later, ate a bagel with cream cheese. It was probably still within my calories, although barely. But then the Binge Monster hit. I wasn't hungry. I'd just eaten a bagel but suddenly I wanted to empty the cabinets straight into my stomach! I fought it off and won, but don't feel victorious yet. I need to keep fighting it off for another while. Once those horrible urges subside, I'll feel more victorious.0 -

woke, late 6:30(normally 6) DH still home, wait he is dressed and getting ready to walk out door by now. his first sto pis by our house so he didn't have to leave until just before that appt. ok, excuse #1 hitting me, today i was going to the gym. now if he is here and eating breakfast with me i will hold off going until he leaves, than make my phone call, than excuse #2, by than it will too late. sooooooo.......
i watch operation repo and dressed and got my stuff together and kissed him goodbye and left for the gym at 7:30.
than after workout doctors office called. bone density test results. call them back NORMAL yea.....
than had to call landlord, roof leaked last night and had water slowly coming out of light switch. left him mssg, had to call DH and tell him about doctors.
i get home let dogs out, jump in shower and get out and three missed mssg. one from son in law about cell phone, two from landlord. call landlord back left mssg for him waiting for his return call.
busy morning.
i did get to talk to my BFF last night for over 2 hours. she and i lived down the street from each other since birth. we would stand in the street in our diapers and wave to each other at 2 yrs old. anyway she married and her DH was killed by a drunk driver and she was pretty messed up herself, so with the addiction to pain meds and such we lost contact. her second husband was stabbed and died. she found him in there home. and her brother committed suicide. so for a period she had a rough life and we were not in contact with each other. i lived here on the east and she lives on the west. anyway i found her sister on facebook. so nice to talk to her again. she said when we were hanging up that she wanted me to call her once a week. we laughed and laughed. so much fun.
well off to get some things done here.

Hello sixers! I'm back again. I had a great Thanksgiving weekend, but my eating, exercise, etc. was horrible. I weighed myself on Tuesday at 157.2. I've gained about 6 lbs in the past 2 months, and most of that in the past 2 weeks! The sad thing is that the last 2 days, I finally started logging all my food again. And in those 2 days, I ate over my calories by 1100. Almost double what I'm recommended by MFP. I must have been doing even worse than I originally thought in those 2 weeks, because even eating that badly, I ate better than I had been. I got on the scale this morning at 155.6! WOW! I'm logging everything that goes in my mouth from now on!!! I started out on MFP in May(?) at 158. I don't want to get that close again!0

Because I'm really really trying to reach my six-week goal (and bring my loss to at least 20 lbs so I can reward myself), I've been eating much better lately. I've been under my calories, usually under my sodium, and still very full because I'm eating way more veggies. But, I've noticed the past few days I've been really crabby and it's not TOM. I used to eat two or so fun size candy bars a day and now I'm at about one every two days. I've done low carb diets before and I do get really grumpy going off of sugar, but I'm still eating sweet potatoes, whole wheat pasta, bread and other healthy carbs. Anyone know if eating less processed sugar specifically would make someone grumpy? I hope I'm not just turning into a skinny grump. :grumble:0

Kristin- I believe you can do it. Though I dont have kids I can't give you any real advice about that part but I know if you do your best and try to reach your goal.... when the day arrives and you know you gave your all..... The level of proud will be the same if you reach the goal or not!!!

Ali- I reward myself every 5lbs because I get multiple gifts and its a way to keep my goals small and attainable for me. 5lbs is still a good percentage of your weight and at least its not weight gained. Keep up the work!!!
Well.............. I walked at work, did personal training and I am about to do my magic 100. Fitness was good. I'm practicing techniques from the beck diet book and I'm moving toward my goals. Even drinking my water!!!! YAY

Tamm...thank you! I do think I can do it! I have faith! And now I need to just make some realistic goals! There are 26 weeks until Kadence is 9 months old and I'm going to work VERY hard to lose 30 pounds in that time. So...about 1.2 pounds per week. So...June 5th is my goal...I can see it out there! I also need to set myself a goal for Spring...we might be going to Texas March 15th or closely around there if we go. I would like to work hard to get myself slimmer by then...especially if I plan to do any swimming! I have 14 weeks until then so maybe 15 pounds will be my goal! There will be some challenges...Christmas being one of them, but I think I can do it! I can't wait to be part of the next challenge again! I am SO ready!
Here's what my workout schedule will be starting next week:
M-BodyPump (1 hour)
T-Step class or 5K run(45 minutes)
W-BodyPump (1 hour)
Th-Step class or 5K run(45 minutes)
F-REST
Sat and Sun-depends...hoping for some more running time and eventually adding in a Spinning class
BUT...all this depends on how my daughter is doing. My husband is home with her during the days, as you know, and sometimes she has had a fussy day and he is DONE by the time I get home from work. So, it all depends. It's hard because I want to spend all my free time with her, but I know that if I don't schedule some time to exercise, I will not be happy with myself! So...I figure an hour a day is enough for me to get in a good workout, and not too much that I will be crying. Wish me luck....this is going to be a long, hard journey!0
