Finally the rain stops on a running day!0 -
I just registered for my first triathlon, a sprint, on October 7th. My goals for July are to bike 14 to 15 miles on the days I do not work, run 30 minutes 6x a week, swim laps 2x a week, and strength train 3x a week. If you are also training for your first tri, feel free to friend me with a note about it. I'm always p for suggestions on training, as i hav never done a tri.0

Master if the seat post isn't to deep you can take a metal cutting blade and cut a slit in the seat post down inside and then you should be able to use some kind of punch to knock it further in or you can try to use the punch to make it smaller diameter and then pull it out with some stork pliers.

OMG yes me in the desert of Cracked Ground, Ohio. It's so hot and dry!!!!0 -
"Minor" setback for my challenge, my seatpost broke in half, with a piece left stuck inside the frame. And since it's an old bike (8 years), and that seatpost hadn't move in 6 years, it's pretty much welded there now
Bike replacement will arrive on the 18th or so, I doubt I'll have time to make up for the lost time to get to 500km
Next month! Run and swim though, it's still on!
Dang for now...but ooohhh new bike :happy:

I'm convinced that the triathlon events should be in the reverse order :grumble: Instead of swim/bike/run it should be run/bike/swim. It seems more natural to ride after running and to finish with a nice swim. :bigsmile: I could come up with at least 4 good reasons to prove my point0 -

I was hoping my mileage would be somewhat higher, but since all my miles are outdoors and the temperatures have been in the high 90s (they expect 43C / 109F today) for the last 3 weeks, making progress is a bit of a struggle.

Thanks! It was my first of that distance so I'm pretty stoked! I know my times aren't great - 36 on the swim, 1:24 on the bike, and 1:11 on the run. The swim was actually better than all my practice swims so I was pretty happy with that. The 10k run was my worst time ever. It was REALLY hot and humid and I ended up walking a lot. Though I did have a lot of company while walking as there were many walkers/runners out there! And I heard that there were quite a few women (it was an all women event) who did not finish. So I'm just happy that I did it. I have two more sprints scheduled for this summer, but I'll definitely be doing a couple of Olys next year!0 -
