I'm new to MFP and this looks like a great way to get started. It seems like it's easy for me to disappoint myself in not acheiving a goal, but if someone else "sees" then I work much harder to not disappoint others. Thanks for posting!

Needing some motivating friends. I am looking to lose 100+ and I just dropped my first 10lbs from last week to yesterday, so I'm looking forward to working hard to lose more.

I think if you tried to maintain that rate of loss for a long period of time, Yes, you would be setting yourself up for "not" succeeding. However, often times when you start a new exercise program, you tend to work harder and be more aware of what you are eating, excercising, sleeping, etc so your body loses a bit more than usual the first week or so then your loss will level out each week.0
