and guns have what to do with getting fit and healthy???

You're on the "Chit-chat, fun, and games" forum of this website, so why are you expecting anything on this part of the site to be about getting fit and healthy? lol

That is the funniest thing I have read on this thread except for the person that will use a paint gun for protection. I wasnt talking to you when I made my comments about liberals. HOWEVER, you proved my point when you said I should calm down on the liberal hatred, so I will assume you are liberal, and I already know you arent a fan of guns, so I will surmise that you are a gun hating liberal. See how easy it is.
I'm also a proponent of the death penalty. What am I now? You can't assume my political viewpoint based on one view I hold (unless, of course, that view is that liberals/conservatives do this bad thing and liberals/conservatives do that bad thing and ALL liberal/conservatives are bad. Therefore, I can probably safely assume that you are conservative.).

I think hunting is BS but I added it in there to appeal to American ~ideals. Guns aren't necessary for the general public & the argument concerning 'those who couldn't get guns legally would get them illegally' is also crap. Sure a minority would but I'm going to go out on a limb here & assume people like the college guy who just shot up a movie theatre don't have ~connections.

Seriously, why would anybody need a gun?

'omgzzz to protect ourselves!11!' - from what exactly? Oh yeah, other morons with guns...

Ignorance, ignorance, and more ignorance. All mixed up in a big glass of ignorance.

The fact that you're so blinded and don't think people are capable of getting black market guns is mind boggling. If someone wants to commit a crime they're going to get a hold of a gun whether it's legal to own one or not. All gun restriction does is take away the ability to protect yourself. Also, what makes you assume that because he's in college that he can't have "connections"? Drugs are rampant on campuses and where illegal drugs can be obtained so can illegal firearms...

Where did I say I didn't think people were capable of it? 'If someone wants to commit a crime...' no ****, Sherlock. If someone wants to commit a crime why would legalities be an issue? The point is prevention, making it as difficult as possible; guns are going to be more easily obtainable illegally if they can be bought legally, that's not ignorance it's logic. Thankfully I live in a country where the fear of being stabbed outweighs the fear of being shot.

I am a Libertarian. We take self-responsibility very seriously. Something that you show utter lack of, but we cant expect much from someone still living with their parents, with no family to provide for and to protect.

You speak of these issues like you have experienced them, however you still lead a extremely sheltered, low responsibility life.

I live in a country where the even police don't have guns. It's great.

If I don't want to binge on junk food I don't buy it into the house, because then lack of willpower has nothing to act on anyway. Same deal with guns. It's just been a part of your country for too long and people don't like things being taken away from them. You're just going to have to keep on dealing with school shootings etc.

Its not the fact that we don't like things taken away, it's the fact that even if guns are banned, Criminals will find a way to get a hold of a gun, and us law abiding citizens wouldn't be able to protect ourselves. Criminals will not go "Oh, it's against the law, I'll just turn my gun in then!" Nope. These people who do school shootings, theater shootings, regardless of the law, will continue to do so because well, criminals don't follow the law, that's why they are criminals.
Exactly. That is what the liberals seem to miss most. Look at DC, Chicago, LA. Extreme gun laws and how many people were shot in Chicago last weekend by NON law abiding citizens? The liberals in their own mind believe AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WANT YOU TO BELIEVE that once the guns are gone, then no one, even the bad guys will have them. What a fairy tale. Isnt it illegal to own and or EVEN HAVE a gun in Mexico? How many people were killed there last year by NON law abiding citizens. Close to 50000. Outlawing guns makes us serfs. IF you dont want to protect yourself or family with a gun then that is your choice, I am not giving up my choice because of what YOU the liberal wants.
Calm down with the liberal-hatred. Not being a huge fans of guns doesn't necessarily make somebody a liberal.

Nope, just makes you anti-constitution and anti-rights. The constitution gives us rights to own firearms. Just like it gives you the right to spout off about things you do not understand.
When did I say you should not be allowed to have guns? Please point that out to me.
There are limitations on free speech, so why can there not be limitations on guns? How does that thought make me anti-Constitution or anti-rights?

Punishments for murder are not severe enough. A lot of them just get "guilty" and off to prison, where they are housed and fed and probably can get a law degree (not even mentioning the nasty things that supposedly go on in prison, ok). What's the term called for someone who is found guilty of murder? LIFE. Thats what they get. They kill, they are given LIFE.

To answer the initial question, no guns.

    Unless you're in the special forces/police or a farmer/hunter.

    Okay. I am a hunter.

Anyone else want to be a hunter?

I'm a hunter, and if someone breaks into my home I'm a hunter of humans. I'm pretty sure that still qualifies as a hunter.

I think hunting is BS but I added it in there to appeal to American ~ideals. to protect us from the government that people like you put in place.

I put in place? Nope, definitely didn't vote for the party that is currently in Parliament, but thankfully even the Tory's don't seem to think guns would be a good idea.

LOL so by your "understanding" gun restriction makes it more difficult for criminals to obtain firearms? A lot of criminals make it a career and have felony charges, so they already can't legally obtain a firearm and their only source is through the black market. Gun restriction does nothing for criminals but make it easier for them to commit their crimes because then civilians won't have the ability to defend themselves. So sorry, but that is complete ignorance on your part.

I'm glad you do live in a country that's not the United States, stay there, we have enough ignorant people here as it is.

If you googled the exact phrase "not sure if stupid or retarded" then you obs have come across the meme before. It's embarrasing that you're trying to defend your lie to this degree. So what if you like to use old memes.

Ha! Yeah I didn't think of online gaming via consoles. You can have that one. *tips hat*.

I'm not really that competitive, and as I can't compete with your spewing of sheer and utter ignorance, I'll leave you to be the champion of it.

    Toodlepip.

A basic understanding that memes exist is all that's necessary to search and assume that a phrase has been made a meme. I've seen other memes using that same character, formatted in that same way so I assumed it had been made, and it had. Sorry that some of us have a life while you don't. I don't keep up with memes or search for them very often if ever but apparently they're a part of your daily life since I guess that's an old meme according to you.

Run off now, go act like a child somewhere else because clearly you can't handle talking maturely here.

Yes memes are my life. I've made a great one, featuring you. I made you famous :P

I'd link you to it, but as you're an expert at locating memes that you didn't even know existed, you can do the detective work.

Done with this now. Enjoy your fame.

Ya because these shootings ONLY happen in the US.....

They don't happen here! It's great. Only shootings in Ireland are drug dealers ****ing each other up
But like I said, you're gonna have to put up with them because there are too many in circulation to get rid of them and people are too stubborn. They're useless for anything but killing, and if people can't control themselves enough over chocolate cake, I don't trust them with a gun.

they also saved a lot of lives too, prevented rapes and stopped home invasions. You shouldn't keep people from protecting themselves because there are some out there who are evil.

BTW, is there still cases of violent crime in your country?

I don't understand why this is soo difficult to understand.

Bad guys have guns. That is an unavoidable fact of life. As a result, I really don't have a choice but to arm myself in order to protect my life and the lives of my family.
I have seen several suggestions on here.
I have seen one girl say that she is armed with a paintball gun. That is fine and might actually work. That is a BIG "maybe" when it comes to someone who broke into your home with the intention of causing you harm. What if the guy you just paint balled the hell out of is armed with a firearm? What if he is wearing a leather jacket?

I saw someone else talking about stabbing an intruder and I will admit that if I have no choice, I will also stab, bite, or smother an intruder with a pillow if needed.
I would much rather eliminate the threat from 10 feet away.

Some are concerned about shooting on accident. This is actually a VERY valid concern and it is why I picked not only my firearms but my ammunition very carefully.

With my main weapon, a .357 Magnum, my first round is loaded with what is called "Snake Shot". Basically it is like a miniture version of birdshot. very little penetration power but a nice spread with a gaurenteed hit. I am smart enough to know that fear, confusion, and adrenelen can all cause you to either make a mistake or get off a horrible shot.
IF the bad guy is still around after that first shot, the rest are, in fact, people stoppers.
If I somehow screwed up and shot someone I shouldnt have, well, they should live with nothing worse then a little bleeding and the need for clean underwear.

I personally don't LIKE guns at all. I am not a hunter and I go to the shooting range just often enough to be an expert with my weapons.

With that said, I DO feel a need to own a firearm for personal protection in this day and age.

We need not forget what the 2nd ammendment was put in the Bill of Rights for either. It was to give the people the ability to protect themselves from the government if it ever goes rogue. I'm not saying that will ever happen, but nobody can say for sure. Looking back at history, there isn't a whole lot of evidence to say that we can never say "never", or that any government is safe from falling into tyranny.

Jefferson said it's the right of the people to dissolve the government if needed, I suspect he meant by using the pen or the sword. Things can't always be solved without the use of force. If we take guns out of the hands of the citizenry, then what stops the gov from overstepping? Sure we can say we have laws, but as we have seen, our laws have been interpreted differently as time moves on. Of course the thought of our government turning oppressive is hard to imagine right now, but we have no idea what our country will look like 100 years down the road. Things might be the same, or they could be worse. History is littered with politicians using emergencies to grab more power. It would be a disservice to succeeding generations if we were to take away their ability to stop an overreaching government.

    GUNS.

It's like saying if guns kill, then spoons make people fat. Guns don't pull the trigger, people do. Enforcing gun laws even more will only cripple the process for those who attain them legally. You think a criminal is going to think twice about gun laws? THEY'RE CRIMINAL. THEY DO CRIMINAL THINGS.

The only gun control you need is two hands.

I quote one of your posts.

Must be tough contributing 50 bucks to food a month:

Topic: How much money do you spend on being Fit?? Sun 06/24/12 09:11 AM
I spend nothing on my gym membership or Crossfit. I spend like $30 a year on vitamins and maybe $75 on protein?
I buy new running shoes every 3 or 4 months at 70-110 a pop, so around $300 there, and another $150-200 on clothes and socks.
I live with my parents still, so they do buy most of my food, but I put in around $50 a month since they don't buy much vegetarian or healthy food.
    So, in total, around $1200.

But guns and bombs allow people to kill people in mass. When was the last time someone went on a stabbing spree and killed or injured 100 people? We don't need an all out gun ban. what we need is to be smarter about who can buy and/or own a weapon and what kinds of weapons they should be able to own.

I am a Libertarian. We take self-responsibility very seriously. Something that you show utter lack of, but we cant expect much from someone still living with their parents, with no family to provide for and to protect.

You speak of these issues like you have experienced them, however you still lead a extremely sheltered, low responsibility life.
How do I show lack of self-responsibility or responsibility in general?
Because I'm a 19-year-old who works 35+ hours a week to feed myself and pay for my college education and attends classes full-time during the fall and spring semesters and part-time during the summer? You're right. I'm SO irresponsible. I should definitely have three kids who I don't give a damn about and not have a job at all, like most of the other girls I graduated with.

Or you can read the whole thing and see that I spend around $1200 a year on fitness alone. I spend $5500+ for school and other necessities. I only make around $5000 a year after taxes, so go ahead and figure out that math. Luckily, I started working right when I turned 16 and saved up, plus I don't necessarily need to be paying back my loans right away.
I pay for the things I need and want. I just don't pay rent for 3 months out of the year. How, pray tell, does that make me irresponsible?

I didnt get in the last thread so I'm sure its been said before..
guns dont kill people, people kill people...

    ^^^This
But guns and bombs allow people to kill people in mass. When was the last time someone went on a stabbing spree and killed or injured 100 people? We don't need an all out gun ban. what we need is to be smarter about who can buy and/or own a weapon and what kinds of weapons they should be able to own.

In America, I can't remember a time where someone went on a stabbing spree. But if you look at China, Taiwan, South Korea, India, Russia, and several other European and Asian countries there's stabbing sprees going on all the time. Don't believe me, go to a website called liveleak and there's videos of these things happening.

I agree that we should be smarter on who we give guns to, but how? They already have it to where people with felony charges can't get a gun, someone with a restraining order can't get a gun, as well as other regulations. What other restrictions do you think there should be?

I assumed this would be a thread of people showing off their arm development. You have all let me down.

Hold people accountable for their actions instead of making excuses for them.
