Week 4 - Day 3...
Totally kicked my *kitten*. I don't know what happened. It could be that I ran it on a treadmill in the gym. I hate running on those things, I always feel like I'm going to fall off. This is the first time I've ran on a treadmill in a long time, and I haven't run any C25K on one yet. It was super hot and I was breathing in…

W7D2
Was kind of dreading running 2.5 miles every run this week but today ended up being a pretty good run. Been on the East Coast for the past 10 days (St. Marys, GA) and did my week 6 and start of W7 there. W7D1 was interesting because it was fairly humid by my California standards and I was sweating something fierce. Spent…

My W5 D3
I wasn’t really sure about it; an entire 20 minutes without stopping? My schedule didn’t allow me to do W5 D3 last Thursday as I was chaperoning an out of town high school field trip. I had planned on running on the trip, really. I brought my shoes and HRM, I was set. But there just wasn’t any time. So I repeated W5 D2…

stats feedback please
Hi I know everyone is different in their level of fitness/stamina etc but I just started the c25k and don't really have a benchmark of what is 'good' for my age/size whatever and would appreciate any feedback. Ok Im 43 and 88lbs overweight and haven't exercised properly since 2009. Week 1/day 3 stats from yesterday are:…

Stupid Dogs!
Aargh! I was out for my run (week 4, day 3) just now, and was bit by two lil dogs. Aargh. Their owner was bringing them across the street w/out a leash, and with some sort of treat in his hand. Yeah, no, apparently I looked more appetizing. Thankfully I was wearing my new gloves, because when one of the dogs got a hold of…

WEEK 1 C2%K--13.1 END GOAL
HI all, I am currently signed up for the half marathon in Pittsburgh in May. I am currently finishing up week 1 of c25k and then once I finish this program I am going to be starting Higdon training program to get me in LONG DISTANCE mode. I did cross country through highschool but was obviously in much better shape then…

New to C25K
Tommorrow is my 3rd set for the first week. First day I was getting a pain(could have been a cramp) in my lower left side of my stomach around the 6th 1 minute run phase but I pushed through and barely made it. 2nd day it was just as difficult but without the pain. I sure hope tomorrow gives me some sort of hope as to next…

dumb newbie question!
hey, I've literally only just started this programme; it was my second session today, and I just wondered if it matters that I didn't do as well today as I did on Wednesday when I first started (didn't run as far and slower pace). Should I repeat this session or just go to session 3? Any advice or tips gratefully…

Weight Training while doing C25K
I'm on week 3 of C25K and was wondering if was doing weight training as well. I think my running would go better if I was physically stronger, but I worry that muscle fatigue and soreness from weight lifting will hinder progress in C25K right when it's getting hard anyway. I do squats, lunges, crunches and some work with…

NEW RUNNER
I guess you could call me a new runner. I used to run in high school, now I am married and I have gained 50plus pounds and plan to start running again tomorrow. I am going to download the couch to 5k on my iphone to get started. Any suggestions?

Graduated my C25K today!

W4D1 - did it but my legs ache now
Hi, I got to W4D1 today and managed it but my legs ache really badly now. It could be because I had the flu jab earlier today. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do to ease the pain? I haven't experienced this reaction after my previous sessions. I walk at 4mph and run at 5mph on a treadmill. Thanks

I FINISHED WEEK 9!!!!!!!!!
I did, I did!! Bright and early this morning, I started my run at 6:00am. I jogged...not fast...I'm sure I could have walked faster than I jogged...but I jogged. The voice on the app came on and said "You're done! Walk" (for the 5 minute cooldown), but I kept running. I ran 3.25 miles in 50 minutes. Definitely not the…

Skipping Ahead?
I started this program, but have taken a few weeks off, sporadicaly. followed for 3 weeks then went on vacation for a week. Then started where I left off for another 2 weeks, then injured for 2 weeks. I'm almost at the "all running" portion and on my last run went for 6:00 running, 1:30 walking, 3 times. Then ran 8 on my…

Dang, I graduated, now what?
Ran my first race two Saturdays ago. So what have I been doing since? Not a thing :/ today I finally ran again but the fire wasn't there. My wife just bought me new shoes and a cold gear shirt, so I gotta catch that fire again... suggestions? I'm already planning to run a race the week before thanksgiving.

Pretty much graduated
So technically I have not been able to quite hit the full 30-minute straight end time for the end of Week 9. I did however successfully today jog 20 minutes, walk 1 (mostly to stretch the sore joints), then jogged 15 to finish my route. So completed the 9 week (ended up being 10) program to the best of my ability and very…

Holy Cow! I did it!
Hi, my name is Sarah, and I'm a former non-running, exercise avoiding, sweat hater. Last week was week 3... and it totally kicked my *kitten*. I decided to do a "November Experiment" starting on Saturday where I would increase my calories since my exercise has increased so much. Today was week 4, day 1. I nailed it!!! Woot…

New to C25K
Hi all! I am new to the whole C25K program and am looking for motivational and supportive friends who I can share this journey with. I am hoping to start a modified program where I wil try and complete the C25K program as a walking challenge so that I can firstly build up my fitness, my confidence, and get use to the…

Restarting C25K
I will be restarting this week! I stopped the beginning of Oct after completing week 6 when tragedy struck my family. I am looking forward to getting back to running! I know it will help me!! I love it!! Looking for friends to add who are starting or recently started for support. Add me or I can add you. I had also signed…

ran/walked a 5k
In my neighborhood but I still did 3.3 miles today in 50 mins :) and that's with hills and everything! I just made myself do 2 days of week 2 and Weds I'm going to do week 3 day 2. Trying to mix it up so my body will get used to running more with all the different hills in my neighborhood. And I think Friday I will go to…

Skip a day?
Hi!! Have you ever skipped a day in the early weeks because you knew you were ready for the next week? I have 1 day left for Week 2 but I can already run 4 minutes without stopping and still recover pretty quickly so I do not think I would have a problem with Week 3. Can I move on or should I do that last day of Week 2?…

Heart rate monitor training?
I have a heart rate monitor. I use it for my calorie count, but haven't really been using it to train in specific zones for fat burning or general good treatment of my ticker. Today, I decided to run only in zones one and two, instead of zone three where my heart usually jumps the minute I start to run. It was a good day…

Rest days?
I did Week 1 Day 1 today (woohoo!) and I know that it is recommended to take a rest day in between. My question is, what do you guys do on your rest day? I hate to do no cardio whatsoever, so I'm wondering if a moderately paced walk (outside or on treadmill) along with strength training is OK, or maybe I should just do…

Week 1 Day 1 Complete
Hello everyone! I just started my C25K journey today and felt great afterwards! I must admit there were a few hills where I was hoping the app wouldn't tell me to start running, but otherwise I came out great! I can't wait until Tuesday to do the second run! If you are participating and would like to be friends, just look…

W5D3 .... WOW!!!
Well I did it, There were a few times in the middle that the urge to stop and walk for just a few steps was really strong but I did make it through, without the walk. Not sure if the last minute or so was as fast as I walk on the off days but I kept at the run stride. I am going to try and put in the link to the track from…

Advice for a total newbie ?
Hi everyone! I am determined to do this but I am terrified..to say the least lol I have a considerable amount of weight to lose, at least 90 or so more pounds, and am literally a couch potato. Other than making my kids meals, and the walking involved in chores and errands I have not done any regular exercise in at least 7…

Week 3- Success!
I just did my first workout for week 3 & it was so easy! I did 1 1/2 min run & 4 min run intervals instead of 3 min run intervals. I admit I took a 20ish minute break in between so I could get my eyebrows done but I did an extra 4 minute run interval. I'm so proud of myself! I was totally scared of the 5 min runs next week…
