W7 D1
Starting Week 7 Day1 tomorrow. I shouldn't have any issues competing the week.I actually love the longer runs. To those that have finished, what sort of traing do you do now? Do you run for 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week?

I have Never Run
OK guys, I am new here. I have always aspired to run a 5K race. How do I start, especially if I have never run. I am literally getting off the couch! Would welcome some advice! Thanks!

Finished my second 5k
Yesterday was W8D2. Hubby & I ran the Miss Santa Holiday 5k. It is a R.A.C.E. (run against cancer event). I finished in 36:39.7 - an average pace of 11:49 - with no walk breaks. I was 444 out of 504 and 34 out of 42 in my age group. I am pleased with myself. I am trying to keep myself to a slower pace than I know I can do.…

C25K2C25K Any stress fracture advice?
Finished my last workout this past monday, and with warmup and cool down walk, i did 3.75 miles in 40 minutes. Then woke up Tuesday with a terrible pain in my foot. I'm 98% sure its a stress fracture and I'm taking all precautions possible. I've got a walking cast "boot" that I'm wearing while not at work, and at work its…

Advice needed, skipped days
Hi. Hope to get some advice from the group please. I was able to finish W5 D2 last week but got outrageously busy at work and was unable to finish W5 D3 and go on to W6. Should I repeat the whole week 5 or attempt to finish W5 D3 and then go on? What would be the best thing to do to procede?

Knee Pain
Hi Everyone, I just completed the week 2 work out 2 of Zombies Run training (very similar to C25K) and my knees are hurting...even to walk. Last summer I did C25K and experienced the same thing. I have new running sneakers, and this time around I started after logging 2 months walking (up to 3.5 miles each walk). I thought…

Day 1 - Who's with me?
Has anyone just started or about to start C25K? Today will be my Day 1 after stopping the program in Dec. 2011 when I found out was pregnant. Now that my son is 2 months old I'm ready to get back into running. C25K ROCKS! It got me running more than 10 minutes straight last time and now I'm looking forward to being able to…

Week 2 All Workouts
I just started week 2 and would be interested in hearing how all the other week 2 participants are doing in their workouts. I feel really invigorated after completing Week 2 Workout 1. I'm hoping to run in the Gasparilla 5K on February 23.

W3D3 made it.
Well, things are going good so far, just some little aches and pains, here and their. I cut back on my speed,it seem to help. Walking 3.4mph,running 6.4mph. Just read about having the treadmill in a slight incline, that was a good tip, since when I started this,I was running outside. I must admit, I like running outside better.…

Week 3 is killing me! Anyone else?
I am really starting to think I suck at this running thing lol I started running early September and before that I was a total couch potato. Like walking to the mailbox was enough to wear me out. I ran on my own with no program, just combos of walking and running in intervals. I did two 5k's and came in at 44 min each…

First 5k race
I ran my first 5k race on Saturday! (It was also my birthday, and one of the best ones yet!!) My official time was 38:41 (12:29mm pace) and my goal was 40min if I could run the whole time or 45min if I had to walk (I've been having some knee pain the last couple weeks) so I'm VERY happy with that time! I made it under…

Finished the C25K today
I am so excited to have finished the program today. I ran my 5k in 35 minutes. I hope to work on increasing my speed before I start to train for a 10K. I had good days and bad, but did not have to repeat any days, just kept pushing through. Advice I would give....water and sleep! The days I did not drink enough water…

tightness of running shoelaces...
Does anyone else go thru this or is it my OCD?.... I'm new to running (started C25K August 1st and do it every other day and just finished Week 7 day 2 today) and it seems to take me a couple minutes to get my shoes right--I've either laced them too tight across the top of the foot, not equally tight per foot, or too tight…

First 5K in the books
Just got the results posted online. Came in 20th overall out of 87. 3rd out of 9 in my age group. Overall chip time officially is 00:29:18.400 for a pace of 9:27. Not too bad considering that there were some hill that I wasn't training on. Beat my goal of < 30 minutes.

My first 5K results
Well I did it! I was supposed to have a friend join, but she bailed at the last minute. So I learned the hard way that this course had lots of hills. All manageable except one, which of course was the last one prior to the finish line. My goal was to be under 35 minutes, and based on my run times I was hoping to be closer…

Just started - Looking for friends!
I could use a little inspiration and motivation to get me through the coming weeks and would love to provide the same! Any friend requests would be welcome. I just finished W1D2 out in the freezing cold. :-)

Hi! I'm new!!
Hey! I started C25K last Wednesday. I haven't gotten in my Week 1 Workout 3 yet this week. Might not get it in this evening (my son has a concert tonight, and I'll be out until 9pm). The first day was rough, and I only got through 15 minutes - heart palpitations and dizziness.. Then on Saturday, I made it through the…

T minus 6 days
First official 5K coming up on Sunday 12/9. Folsom Jingle Bell Rock'N 5K. Ran a trial 5K before work this morning and am at exactly 30 minutes. Hopefully I can match that or better on Sunday. On a side note, my wife gave me an early birthday present of a HRM. I ran with it the first time today and didn't like the zone I…

Starting out - Chest pain?
I've been having heart palpitations and pressure in my chest each time I've run in the past week. I'm doing the program on the treadmill. My walk is at 3.0, and my jog is at 5.0.. (incline of just 1, if it matters) I'm not sure what's going on, and it's pretty freaky. I've been dizzy and cold a lot lately too. I went to…

Week 3.....Anyone?
Just finished W3D1. That second 3-minute jog was tough but I made it. Anyone else doing W3 this week?

W1D1 about died
So today was my first time trying this. I was doing it on the treadmill and was okay, but then I had to stop halfway through. I couldn't keep going. I don't know if it was me or the fact that I am doing it on the treadmill. I'm assuming the treadmill would have some effect speed wise, plus it doesn't feel natural. So, I…

Bombed out royally on week 4 day 1, advice?
So, I've been mixing it up a bit, sometimes doing couch to 5k on a treadmill and other times doing it on a hilly paved trail. For week 3, I did two sessions on the treadmill and one session on the trail and overall it was tough, but fine. Now, I do extra walking because I'm having a hard time staying low enough on calories…

W2D3
Well I made it thru, without any problem. When they say couch to 5k,that was really me. I look forward to W3. Right now I'm walking at 4.0mph,running at 6.8,I will not push myself any harder then that, for now.
