Just registered for my first 5K!
I have been working slowly through the program since mid-June. I am now on W9D2.......and I have just registered for my first ever 5K race! It will be the Reindeer Run on December 1st. Now I just need to continue working on my distance and time (I only go about 2.4 miles in 37-38 minutes.....which includes my warm-up and…

Finished week 1!
So I finished week 1 of C25K!! It's a great feeling to have a goal and to be able to track the progress to it. My first ever 5K will be on December 2nd. I don't have a goal time or anything at this point, I just hope to be able to finish and have some fun (without freezing my butt off out there, haha!).

I ran 3 miles!!!!
And it felt great!! I'm on week 7 and yesterday was supposed to be day 2. I have my first 5K race on Saturday and I wanted to prove to myself I can run that far so I set off with the idea I would run for at least the 25mins and keep going as long as I could after that. I started Endomondo just before I started running…

Anyone on here a new mom?
I'm a new Mommy and when I found out I was pregnant in December last year I was on week 6 of this program, so I know it works. My question is now that I've been unable to work out hard or run the past 10 months.. Is it safe to jump back into it 8 weeks after having a baby? My son is 2 months old today and so far I've tried…

Motivation
I want to start jogging again. I like this program and know that no matter how many miles I used to jog and run so 20 years ago, I have to start all over. No I am 50 and 340 lbs... It is so hard to motivatee myself to just get out and get started. Tried before Christmas and was doing OK but stopped over the holidays. Now I…

Should I redo the c25k for speed purposes?
So I have already ran my first 5k and I loved it. Now I consistently run 45 minutes 5 days a week. Here is what I am thinking though to improve my time. Start at week 1 day 1. But instead of jogging at my normal pace (14 min/mile), do it as fast I can. Then go through each week like before but go at a faster speed. Has…

Hello All!
I just completed Week 2 Day 3 this morning. Including the warm up and cool down, I went 2.14 miles in 29 minutes. I am not sure how that compares to anyone else, but I am feeling pretty good and I am looking forward to Week 3. I would love to add some new friends who are also doing the c25k. I think it might be motivating.…

Do I need to Start Over?
Hi Guys! I have been doing C25K since the beginning of August and was about to start week 7 when I injured my knee. It's been almost 3 weeks since I've been able to run / jog but am healed now and want to start the program back up this Tuesday, I was planning to go back to week 5 and start from there, but I was wondering…

Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble
So... Here is the question tonight that I pose to the C25K crowd.... The "Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble" 5k is on Nov.22 and I will be on W8D2.... (jog for 2.75mi).... I would really like to try this race and it is only an extra 0.35mi anyway.... Should I go for it or wait until the next week after I graduate? Currently…

First 5k tomorrow
Hubby and I are participating in the Susan G Komen Race for a Cure 5k tomorrow. When we registered, we thought we would be around week 7 of C25k. In reality, we are at W4D1. A wrenched muscle, bad allergy attacks, pitiful weather side put us way behind our intended schedule. I am not worried. We'll get it done. There just…

Graduated today woop!
I began C25K on Aug 23rd, and completed it today, Oct 18th. In just under two months, I've gone from barely able to run two minutes, to running 35-40 minutes 3-4 times a week. Running has now become a habit and a hobby, I'm signed up to two races in the next two months, and I'm starting the Bridge to 10K programme this…

Completed Week 9, now time for 10k training :-)

W6D3 DONE!
Supposed to run for 25 minutes, but I ended up running for 35. Each time my brain started to think my body was tired, I'd do a quick evaluation of how I was feeling and reminded my brain that all was good....and kept going. I can't freakin' believe I ran that long!!! I am so stoked! :D Week 7. Watch out!!

I'm new!
Hi everyone! I'm new to the group and started running in July of this year. I ran my first 5K in September. It was the Color Me Rad 5K where you get colored cornstarch thrown at you throughout the race. It was a blast. I am running my second 5K on December 1st, the Jingle Bell race for Arthritis. Everyone dresses up…

W1D2
So I took my run outside for the first time since it's a BEAUTIFUL day out (and I'm tired of the treadmill!), and in my 20 minutes I apparently did 1.28. PLUS I think I have started to figure out a good pace on the pavement! Huzzah! Granted, thirty seconds in I'm still huffing and puffing and wanna stop, but I think I'm…

W3D1 - How far do you get?
When I start the warm up walk, I also start my "Endomondo" tracker to get the distance for the workout also. Yesterday I made it 2.5 miles in the 28 minutes is that average??? Not sure just courious if any one else looks at this?

W7D2 Eating before the run
So it's getting late in the program. I finished W7D1 yesterday, only running 2.3 miles. 2.3 miles is incredible and I am so happy about that, however some C25K programs say, 25 minutes or 2.5 miles. I'm concerned since I didn't complete the length in that time. I run first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. The few…

Close to quitting
My shins are still killing me! Going to runners shoe store to get fitted for shoes. If that doesn't do it I'm going to the doctor. If no answers or shins continue hurting then I'm quitting till I drop another 30 pounds! I'm so frustrated! On week 2 day 3 and my shins hurt so bad by the end of each running interval, I'm…

First workout of week 9 conquered.
Ran for 30:30 straight today. I'm proud to say that from day one I have never let myself stop running until the time was up. There were plenty of times that I wanted to believe me, somehow I just kept distracting myself with music or thoughts about... well anything really. Whatever would take my mind off the pain so I…

Graduated!
Week 9 day 3 this morning! And just for "fun", I kept going to get to 3.1 miles, see how long it would take and if I'd die or not. I didn't. Took me 38:38, some parts avg 5.4mph, other parts 4.3mph. Weather was pretty cold to start, mid 40's, I had 2 jackets on and by the last mile I was warm, unzipping and sweating a…

W5D3 DONE!
I did it! And I even ran longer than the 20 minutes because it said you would be running 2 miles, well I don't run 10 minute miles.... More like 13. But I did it! Feels like such an acomplishment and now all I want to do is run! Can't wait until Saturday to start W6!!

What's your run route? Post pics!!
I want to see where you run! What's the scenery like? What's your favorite time of day? How long is it? Post pictures please! I live in Connecticut about a half mile from Long Island Sound, so my normal route takes me down by the water. I like to time it so that I get there just at sunset (or better yet, sunrise). There's…

What did you do after you completed C25k?

The Chicago Color Run (5k)
Is anyone else doing the Chicago color run on 10/14? I just signed up this morning, the only time slot available is 8am.

W6D1...surprise!
Did anyone else underestimate day one of week six? I attacked it like a maniac, after feeling so great about W5D3, and found myself about to collapse after the second jog. I pushed through and made it to the end but I learned a very important lesson in pacing today!

W2D3 in the books
Must say that it does get challenging each week but by the third day of each week you can really tell the training is effective. I like running runmeter on my iPhone in the background of my C25K app. I decided to go all out on the third run interval today to see what my fasted "mile" pace is. Got it to 7.27 min mile.…

What to do...?
What do you do when it's dark out? I love running outside but it seems lately by the time I'm home its already getting dark and with the clocks changing in 2 weeks time it's only going to get much worse. I havent managed to get home early enough to go for a run for a whole week now!! Would have had time on Sunday except I…

Treadmill?
I started W1D1 yesterday on a treadmill but this doesn't seem to be the norm? Is it like, blasphemy to do C25K NOT outside and make the transition from indoors to outdoors after a few weeks? Or is that like cheating?

5k to 10k
Tomorrow will be my last day of C25K and I am going back on forth if I should jump right into the 5k to 10k app or wait until after my 5k in November? By no means am I going to stop running, but just not sure if I should go right into the 10k app. Any suggestions?

Running Schedule
I am currently on week 6 of C25K, my goal is to train for obstacle races which require a mix of endurance and strength so my current schedule is C25K on MWF and a bootcamp on TTh. This means that Mondays run feels pretty good, but Wed and Fri are really hard because my legs are tired from bootcamp. Should I look at…
