Running with or without music
Yesterday was my first day running without music, W9D1. I forgot my headphones so I just turned my ap on and checked it every once in a while. I noticed I paid much more attention to my breath and that sometimes I hold my breath a long time before I exhale again. Anyone else noticed their breath more or other changes…

Running with muscle pain?
I'm incredibly out of shape, just starting week 2 now after recycling one day of week 1. I finished my fourth day of week 1 on Sunday, with one day rests between running days. I've wanted to run each day since then, but was stuck at home on Monday waiting for the cable guy so I decided to try a fitness video. I hate…

D1 W9!!!!!
Wow I cant believe Im writing that I've ran for 30 mins solid, covered 2.11 miles in that time, and I thought I was going super slow! Its taken 14 weeks to get here, as I've repeated a couple of weeks, and had some time off due to sickness, but I feel fantastic after running that :-) My advice to anyone starting or getting…

W2D1 .... wheeeew...
Well I kinda breezed through W1 and thought that I would be ok until about W4.... Boy was I wrong, Harder that I thought trying to get back into the running thing. Lots of years and pounds since the last time I really tried to get into running and are my knees screaming at me!!! I am determined that I can and will finish…

Finished Week 8, run # 2 today.
So, today I finished my second 28 minute run and as usual, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment when I was done. Is there a free 5k-10k program I can start after next week? I've looked a little but all I found was a pay app. Thanks for your help!

My throat gets really sore
I just finished week one, and I have been finding that about half way through my throat starts to get really sore. I think it's because I'm breathing really heavy. I am wondering if anyone else has this experience? Any suggestions? I'm hoping it will go away as I get better, but I don't know! I don't want to slow down…

Results from C25K
Hey everyone! I started the couch to 5K almost three weeks ago and today is W3D1 for me. I'm just curious about the results. I haven't really noticed any changes yet, besides my endurance is a little better. I want to know, from those who have completed the C25K, what the results are usually, and if I should stick to this…

W1D2 in the books
Can't wait til I stop sucking wind after 90 seconds of running.

W5D2
Was dreading today.....the thought of running for 8 straight minutes was petrifying....... Breezed through it. Actually ran 13 minutes straight the second leg. So happy I could cry.

Graduated Couch to 10K!
Hey all! I finally successfully finished Couch to 10k! I've been working on it for about 15 weeks or so as I started on Couch to 5K before deciding to ramp it up. Somehow I've finished! I've done it entirely outside as well so I've watched the weather change from super hot to freezing temperatures. It's been good for me to…

I owe my success to Couch to 5k!
I just have to say for those just starting off, I cannot recommend a better way to get started running. I followed the program twice...the first time I had to stop a couple weeks in due to terrible shin splints and the wrong kind of shoes. Once I was properly outfitted, I was able to complete the program, and can now…

Anybody doing 5K101?
I tried C25K from Cool Runnings about 3 years ago and got stalled around week 6. Decided to give running a try again a month or so ago, but this time picked up a program called 5K101. It is fairly comparable to C25K having 8 weeks to be running 30 minutes straight. The only difference I can see is the running legs are…

"I have seen the top of the mountain...and it is good"
I have ran 1 mile in my 25 years of existence. Back in 2002, I ran the dreaded mile for the physical fitness test in 10th grade. It was the only time I had/have ever ran a mile without stopping (10:15)...until today. This morning, W5D3, I ran 21 minutes, 1.9 miles!!! The feeling is more than incredible! I never ever…

Happy Feet!
This sounds maybe a little silly, but is there any speacial treatment you give to your feet? I mean everyone gives treats for losing weight (shop new clothes, go on a vacation etc) But how do you reward your feet for a good run?

Pain
I have pain in my lower legs. The muscles on the front of lower legs on the outside of my shins. The muscle runs from below my knee down to my ankle. It gets extremely tight and painful when I jog. Any ideas to help releive the pain?

Hey, Fat Girl!
A good friend of mine posted the link to this blog post today. I had a hard time explaining to my co-workers why I was crying. I imagine that many of us here can relate to this, and draw strength from the message. http://flintland.blogspot.com/2012/05/hey-fat-girl.html?spref=fb

After running hair..how to refresh w/o shampooing
I have naturally curly hair and don't want to wash it after every run, but I also do want to be smelly. Any tip/tricks to refresh my hair without shampooing after every run?

How long?
Hey guys, just restarted C25k since I've been kinda slack. I did D1 on Tuesday and barely did any runs. Today I did way better, and actually did 7/8 of the runs. I had to rest on one. I don't think doing it after work is such a good idea. I work outside and sweat all day so by the time I got home today I was chafing like…

Week5 Day1
I killed it. I owned it. I am ready for D2! Bring it on!!! No words to say how freaking good I feel after this morning's run. I changed things up a bit, and did give myself a small advantage. I reversed my course so that I wouldn't have big hills to run up at the end. I figured if I was going to run for 3 five minute…

Newbie
I am a newbie Couch to 5k user and I just completed my second day. I wanted to make sure this isn't due to bad form or anything, but both of my shins are sore and sensitive directly after the run. Is this normal for anyone else?

Question about rest days
Hi, I'm new here. I just started the program last night. I understand that the rest days are important, but does that mean that you shouldn't do any exercise? Can I do strength training on my rest days? For some reason, doing this program for 30 minutes 3times a week doesn't seem like it would be enough for my overall…

Week 5
I did W5D1 today. Like every other new run, it was a lot easier out on the road than on paper. And while I say I'm not looking forward to my run on Thursdays, mostly because of what W5D3 entails, I'm gonna go out and do it anyways. At this point I want Monday to come already so I can get it done and over with lol.

Weight loss stall
I completed W2D3 today and feel pretty good about the program so far. Like a lot of folks I see on here I never thought I would enjoy running but I do! So here's the deal. I have logged for 140 days with success. I've lost almost 30 lbs. I was losing 1-1.5 lbs. a week and very happy about that! I was also excited about…

Completed C25K and first 5k event!
Hey, Completed the program on 19th September (my birthday), with 30minute run. However I don't think I actually did 5km. Then on 30th September I did a Surf to Surf at Mt Maunganui, New Zealand and my official time for the 5km run was 29:26. Stoked with getting in under 30! The C25K program is really awesome, glad I did it.

Just wanted to celebrate - W5D3 done!
You know how we all start off so nervous about that 20min run at the end of week 5, and it seems to unmanageable? YOU WILL ASTONISH YOURSELF. Once you hit your stride and get into the groove, there isn't much difference between 8 minutes and 20 minutes. I could have kept going when I got to 20 mins! So if it's coming up…

Week 1 day 2 down!
I really thought I would have to repeat the first week (and I still may), but today was sooooo much easier than Saturday. I did all 60 seconds for most of the runs (I only did one full run on Saturday), but I do have to say I don't know if I could have gone on running. I'm so proud of myself!

C25K with a cold?
I have been slowly working through the program all summer, and I have just completed W6D3.......and have just come down with a cold. :-( I really want to continue running, but I don't want to go out and push myself when maybe I shouldn't. Those of you that are further along, or veteran runners, what would you suggest. Go…

5k Route walk
My first 5k is Oct. 27th. and I'm pretty stoked! Just wondering if any of you went to scope out the route of your first 5k or did you just show up and treat it as any other training day, settle in, and do your thing?
