Hello all, So I've been reading through Scooby's site, especially the fat loss sections and the 'calorie calculator' sections...and came across a few different calorie calculators. One is called the 'World’s Most Accurate Calories Burned Calculator'...to assist with finding out how many calories we are actually burning....…

Age & Metabolism
I'm new to this group, but I've been on MFP for about a year. Although my activity has had it's moments, I've become more consistent lately. I've never had to watch my weight & never really had to workout, even after having three kids. I'm 40, but when I turned 38, my metabolism went on hiatus & I gradually started to gain…

A bit of help if possible
Hi all I joined EM2WL a couple of years ago and learnt to change from a very low cal diet to eating properly. I lost weight, gained energy and felt better than ever. I swore I will never go back to low cal diets. I stuck with it and until early last year kept my weight right, definitely toned up as I was exercising with…

How to lose water weight after birth control??
I stopped taking BC about 6 months ago and gained 15 pounds. Im sure its water weight because my diet never changed and I exercise everyday. I eat about 2100 calories a day and do about 30 min of cardio right now because I picked up a 2nd job. I noticed that if I go over my sodium intake by for example 100, I quickly gain…

Seem to be maintaining at 1500
My weight has not fluctuated at all for a week. BF% seems stable, too, according to my scale. Ok, scale did go up 1 lb the day after Easter because chocolate but then it went right back down to 128 lbs. again so I chalk that up to water weight from the increase in carbs (sugar). I'm 46, 5'2" SAHM to a 3 yr old. I do…

Wow!! Eating and losing 'size'?!
Hello all! Just thought I would post my 1 month progress: I've been eating between 2000-2500 calories a day, lifting heavy 3/4 times a week (with minimal cardio) and It seems I have lost inches!! I say 'seems' because I'm not actually measuring myself, but instead using clothes to gage my progress. No lie- I bought a shirt…

Research for the 8-12 Weeks at TDEE
Hey all you happy EM2WL crew! Quick question: Why the recommendation to stay at TDEE for 8-12 weeks before doing a cut? Why not 4 weeks or 20 weeks? How was this recommendation developed? Is it based on peoples individual experiences or is this based on some science? I've been doing a lot of reading the last week on fixing…

I'm not sure who else to turn to
I followed EM2WL religiously around Nov-January. I had great results, lost inches, felt good and felt strong. I cycled my calories depending on rest days and work out days and I felt very body positive, I enjoyed seeing my muscles get bigger and noticing all the small noob gains I was making. I had to stop going to the gym…

Need to lose...suggestions? kinda long
So I'm feeling frustrated. I know change is a process and will take time and I am okay with that for the most part when talking about long term health and fitness. I know I'm getting stronger but I really need to loose all this fat around my belly and the back rolls for this beach wedding in 5 weeks. Should I start doing…

What I've learned by watching the scale daily.
After a break from the scale I have been tracking my weight, activity, macros, doms, and cycle for about 2 months. I'm not going to do it forever as it is just to collect data and even though I still have days the number makes me a little upset it has helped me to see what it really is. Just a measurement of actual weight,…

Gaining and Losing the same few pounds
I just want clarification that I'm doing this right. For the past few weeks I keep losing a pound or 2 and then gaining it back. I was eating 2168, changed to 2200 and now am 2400. Should I stick at 2400? The scales are up again today by 2lb but I'm convinced they'll come down again, then go back up again! Is that telling…

A beautiful repost from Leigh about EM2WL!
Repost from Leigh: "I have a feeling lots of people look at me and think, "She says she works out and eats healthy, why is she still fat?!" Workout 3 days, 5 days, everyday???
so I was working out 3 days a week weights and 3 days a week light cardio (bike ride, walk, etc). But since general advice is to do intense compound workouts I wonder if it's best to do compound 3x week and then isolation on all other days? IE instead of lunges with bicep curl or squat with overhead press...just do lunges…

Results from those who gained but stayed the course
I wanted to read about some of those who increased calories, gained quite a bit but kept with it and eventually saw a loss. I seemed to only read the posts where people gained very little or saw losses. I started EM2WL 3 years ago this summer and long story short just started lifting again and adjust my calories for that…

What would you say is my activity level?
I've started increasing my calories after months of 1200-1350 calories (128 lbs, 5'2" female, 46 yrs). I've used the Scooby calculator and usually select Moderate activity. I am a stay at home mom to a 3.5 yr old. I lift heavy (Stronglifts 5x5) 3x/week and try to fit in 20-30 min of cardio after my lifting sessions. I've…
