Testosterone Replacement Therapy
This one is for the males in the group that I hope can provide some insight. I have been put on TRT as my Testosterone count was quite low. Over the past few days I have noticed an increase in hunger...and not particularly for "healthier" foods. It's literally an awful craving... As I mentioned before, I work in a food…

Hey guys - me again I have a question for you all.... I bought the EM2WL STrength Training manual and have been toying around with doing the program. Right now I took a mini hiatus from lifting and think next week I might just take the week off from exercise all the way around (haven't had a rest week in awhile) but am…

Hi, so a week ago I figured out my bmr and tdee, my bmr is 1435, and current tdee is 1722 (stats are 5'5, 143lbs, 30yrs old) I put sedentary as my level as I have not been working out at all in about 7 months. I haven't weighed in since starting but I had taken a waist measurement on my starting day to track progress that…

Trusting the System & Patience
I just wanted to put it out there how I've found the last few weeks since Eating More to Lose Weight! My weight has always yo-yo'd, ranging from about 9 stone up to about 13 at my heaviest. Last year I lost a lot of weight without really trying but I was in a terrible relationship, I was stressed, unhappy and had no…

Check out this AMAZING update from Original_Beauty on her RESET journey!!
Repost from Anitra- We're so happy that Original_Beauty was willing to share her EM2WL Journey! After suffering from disordered eating (which was so severe that she had to be tube fed in the hospital) and over-training for 25 years, Original_Beauty did the research and took a chance and started eating enough to properly…

Calorie Consumption/ TDEE/ Help?
This week I upped my calorie consumption from 1600 with eating back exercise calories, to 1744 not eating back calories unless I went over my expected 400 calorie burn. My back started going out on Friday, so I ate crap on Friday (went over my calorie allotment) and Saturday (but stayed under) and I didn't get to exercise…

How Much of a Deficit Can I Get Away With
I've been away from MFP for a while and I'm so mad at myself that I didn't carefully record everything I was doing for future reference. Now I'm re-learning and slowly remembering what worked for me in the past. I'm tracking my TDEE with a BodyMedia Fit, which was incredibly accurate for me in the past. I remember that I…

Weighing in on Whey??
Today- I just didn't feel like eating a lot of meat. I'm looking at my journal and I had 40 grams of whey protein and I'm short about 30 grams of my protein goal. It's the end of the day and I just didn't plan well so I know the alternative foods but I feel like I'd like a shake, nothing else sounds really good. Sometimes…

Boom - accidental overload
So, I work in a grocery/confectionary shop and I have "accidentally" overeaten today. A lot...you know, the kind of small but naughty sugary stuff became an indulgent day. It shouldn't hurt my efforts much and it should help confuse my body to get it back to normal, right? I mean, I feel bad...but God it was good. Scones,…

Taking a leap of faith....happily
Hello, I have been blessed to find this EM2LW forum/group in a much needed time in my life. I am 31, 5'7, weighing in at 240lbs- the highest I have ever weighed! I need help estimating my activity level
I decided I should up my calories, eating at 1600 just isn't enough, but I'm not sure what to up them to. My fitbit says I'm burning about 2200-2300 calories per day, but I wonder if it's right. I do a very intense step and weights class 3 days per week, and a pure step 1 time a week. HR is often between 160-200 during…

New phenomenon to me- RAVENOUS alot lately-is this what should be happening
I have posted before in the last year or more. I ate VERY low calorie and low carb for about 5 years. A year and a half ago I started this EM2LW and gained a lot of weight back and it wasn't coming off. So I did a quick diet, lost 20 lbs. It has been a long year for me, since I still was heavier than the weight I had been…

Experiences with the weight gain...
I hired a reverse diet coach who does flexible dieting and counting macros. He increased my cals from 1200 to 1900. I'm 5'7 149 pounds and lift weights 6 days a week, cardio 3 days a week. He tells me to trust the process and I am. It been a week and I definitely feel fluffier. On average how much weight did you guys gain…

A little confused...
Hi there! After lots of reading and research I have joined EM2WL. After many months of being on a calorie deficit and losing/gaining the same 3 lbs over and over again, I needed to switch things up. I have a fitbit, and my average daily burn (TDEE) is 1920. My BMR is 1266 and my TDEE-20% is 1536, at 5'0 and 142 lbs. I've…

eating at BMR?
So for months i was under the disillusion that for me to lose weight the bigger the deficit the better. i was told CICO is the be all and end all and i was probably not losing because i was eating more. i was eating 1200 calories religiously every day even to the point of being so hungry all i could think about was food. i…

activity level?
175 minutes of moderate intensity exercise per week, desk job, clean on days off and look after 3 small children. i would have thought light to moderate activity maybe? this calculates calorie allowance at 1765 -1899? at 15% deficit

Resistance bands?
I know strength training is a big part of keeping muscle/building muscle during weight loss. Most of my activity so far has been cardio (elliptical). I am not able to get to the gym as often as I would like. Mine and my kids schedule is full. I am thinking of buying resistance bands as a bridge when I can't get access to…

Estimating the activity level
A quick question: I own two activity trackers ( Fitbit One and Polar V800 ). Both "agree" that I burn about 2500 kcal a day. I commute to work on my bike ( ~ 5hrs / week ), do 3 interval training sessions ( 45 min each ) and 3 yoga sessions per week. When I put my data in the Scooby Calculator and choose "Moderate…

Why your goal should be your lifestyle and not weight loss
Excerpt: You must wrap your brain around this. This is not about weight loss. This is not about “getting in shape.” This is about lifestyle overhaul. This is about changing who you are. Fitness is not a list of actions. It is someone you become. Work on becoming a fitness-focused person, and reap the benefits. article link

Not hungry
Hi, I've just upped my calories again to 2168 which is TDEE-10%. It's only day 2, but I feel stuffed all the time! It's great in that I'm not hungry at all, but is it right to eat that much if I'm so full? I'm guessing as my body gets used to it I'll start to feel hunger soon and wonder how I managed before....am I right?

Too high of fat?
I've never shied away from eating food, so finding this group has empowered my belief of food is fuel, not to be avoided. However, I can't seem to be able to eat less fat than I am eating. To me, it's not bad fat. I have red meat max 3 times a week (if that), a 4th if there's leftovers, but the rest is either saturated…
