New to group and strength training
I hope that I joined this group for the right reasons. I'm new to the group, but I'm also new to strength training. I recently started going to the gym after joining herbalife. I have been a preferred member for just over a month now and have already lost over 10 lbs, 2 inches of arms and thighs. I go to the gym, but I…

New to group, new(ish) to lifting.
So my highest weight was 245lbs, at this time last year. I was horribly depressed and frustrated and everyone around me was suffering for it. I finally got myself a gym membership and started out - well I probably tried starting out way harder than I should have, being the stubborn, competitive former athlete I am but once…

What types of splits do you like?
One muscle group once a week? Alternating upper and lower body? Alternating push/pull routines? What are your preferred splits and why. I did one muscle group a week, saw results, but now I'm not feeling it as much. I'm trying out alternating upper and lower body but might test out some more. I'd love to know what everyone…

same work every day and feeling weak
I own a horse farm and do a lot of manual labor every day. I've been doing this type of work for 15 years and although it's always been tough, lately I've been feeling really sore and weak from the same work. Lugging buckets of water, cleaning stalls, lifting 50lb bags of grain, etc. It's all feeling really hard lately.…

Not sore after workout

Weight gain
I have recently started weight training 3 x a week as well as some cardio and I have put on weight :( I haven't lost inches either :( Is this normal, or should I go back to cardio? I have been recording my food and have between 1500-1800kcal most days. Is this too much? Macros are generally 40% carbs 30% protein and 30%…

Low carb vs complex carbs
What's the difference? If I want to lose body fat do I allow one or the other?
-
Which program do you follow?
I'm looking at starting to lift soon - very beginner - and wondered how you all got started? I'm looking specifically to NROL4W or SL5X5. And comments appreciated - thanks in advance! Also, does anyone do a low carb deficit while strength training?

New to weight training and looking for friends
I'm looking for some friends to help keep me motivated and who I can help as well. I'm new to weight training and, honestly intimidated. Its mostly guys who lift at my gym, and theyre all benching 400 pounds. I'd really like to be a part of a community of other awesome ladies who lift, so that I don't have to be scared of…

Sweating
I had my 4th PT appointment earlier today, and it was the first time I broke into sweat. My weights obviously haven't changed, but does that mean I am already getting more fit relatively speaking?

Anyone with success stories/progress from being underweight?
Hi ladies! I finally started working with my pt again after a bad flare up last year. I lost a lot of weight, but now i am eating enough to gain .5lb per week. I was wondering if any of you started lifting when you were underweight? I see a lot of success weight loss stories, but not the other way around.

New to Strength Training
So, I'm totally new to this. I have lost over 100 lbs in the last year doing cardio. In the past year I didn't do any weights (shame on me!) Now I can't even lift half of what I could before. Going from 299 to 190 I lost a lot of muscle. So I'm looking to start back. Losing so much weight I need to focus on my "batwings"…

Experienced Lifters: Reps or Sets for Fat loss?
For Fat loss what is more effective, high reps or high sets? Right now I am doing 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps. Since being sick with Salmonella my arms are very weak so right now I normally lift 10 lb Dumbells for upper body and heavier for lower body. I know I will get stronger as I progress. I am 4'8", 130 lbs (30 %B BF)…

30 minute routines?
I recently got booted out of my company fitness center for being a contractor. :( This means I have to actually drive to the nearest location of LA Fitness to get in my lunchtime workout. I only have about 30 minutes to exercise after subtracting travel time and clothes-changing time from my lunch hour. So far I've just…

Which is better during a recomp? Hypertrophy or Strength?
I have recently started lifting weight. Its been five weeks only and I am surprised of how strong I can be. I am only doing 5 compound movements (Squat, Bench, OHP, Bent Over Row and Deadlift) 3 times a week, 5 sets of 5. Each week I am increasing 2.5 kg (5 pounds) in every workout. But I think I will have to deload on OHP…

Starving
Ive been at the strength training with a trainer for 3 weeks. I lost a lot of weight many years ago but I've been pretty out of shape for someone in normal weight range. My problem... Do you use a protein supplement (i.e. shake/powder)
I am looking for something cheap, and lactose free (whey protein can be but is not always lactose free) and relatively tasty.
