  • I weigh myself everyday but the number doesn't really mean that much to me since I know it can change a lot from day to day. What it does do is reminds me each morning to keep the focus and the numbers will come eventually.
  • Been there. We did Zumba 2xs times a week. She loved it and made sure we never missed a class! We took up camping. You can sit around for 2 days or you get up and enjoy nature...we hiked and biked everywhere. Our state campgrounds do not have wifi..what a blessing! Never could get her interested in sports earlier but she…
  • Love them! I am not one who is self motivated when it comes to cardio especially so classes keep me on schedule, accountable and engaged with others who are working hard too. Just stand in the back until you figure out what is going on. No worries as there will be lots of people standing back there with you!
  • I started about the same level back in Oct. I was so shocked at the slug I had become! I am now up to about 10 thousand a day. I love it and the healthy completion. Find someone on your friend list who consistently has more steps than you and decide to "beat" them this week with your 7 day average. I will send you a friend…
  • I hate the gym too, from the YMCA to PF. I get bored with the machines and just walk around the weight room not really knowing what to do. However recently I joined a place ran by a couple of personal trainers. It has circuit training type classes that I love. Never same class twice. Boxing, TRX, kettle bells, medicine…
  • I started taking classes very similar to what you are describing about 3 times a week. Then added a free weight class twice a week. I lost a total of 15 inches within 7 weeks. Starting my fifth month now and still losing inches but not as fast of course. I am 5'1 and have about 50 lbs to lose. Highly recommend taking your…
  • Hello. I am 47, started in September and have about 50lbs to lose. Love my Fitbit and falling in love with fitness classes. Anyone can add me.
  • I received a free Fitbit through a program at work. I have been so shocked at how motivating it has been! I have increased my steps significantly in the past few months because of it and losing weight. Never would have thought it. Keep up the good work!!
  • You made significant progress on ALL goals! You would get a raise where I work!! Way to go and keep it up! You are getting to where you want to be.
  • I second that strength training/core workouts as they have made the biggest difference for me.
  • I am looking for some new friends! https://www.fitbit.com/user/3RMKZL
  • I love challenges and new friends! I have had mine since Oct and love it! https://www.fitbit.com/user/3RMKZL
  • The struggle is real at my house as well. I have been to the doctor, do the exercises before bed and first thing in the morning, roll the ball under my feet while I watch TV, ice and take Aleve almost daily. It has been going on for years and I feel hopeless. I mentioned the night splints to my doctor who didn't think they…
  • ALWAYS go to a psychiatrist for mood disorder medication. BUT find one that you trust and listens to you! Most antidepressants do effect weight gain/loss for a variety of reasons. I think I have about tried them all and it is great there are so many options. Gaining weight makes depression worse for me. So I refused to…
  • I have the One. It clips to your pants/bra. I didn't expect it but I love it and it has changed how I think about daily activities. I now walk in the rain, pitch black night, when I am waiting for soccer games to start, I wake up thinking how I am gonna get my steps in- all so I can beat my friends! I have gone from about…
  • Proud of you for being clean! Self care is important. You deserve to be healthy all the way around! I have a love one in recovery and has found cycling as her new addiction. You will find yours. Keep up the good work.
  • Great job! I am going to start the program after the first of the year! I am shaking in my boots thinking about it.
  • Love this!! Learning yourself is just as important as losing the pounds!!
  • For me and my experiment of one, it does matter. I am 46 and 5'1 and eat 1200 calories daily. The weeks I eat lean meats, vegetables and stay away from the sweets, I lose. When I eat anything but stay in my calorie range, I don't. I also do not lose weight without exercise unless I go below 1200 calories,
  • I love my Ninja!
  • Thanks everyone! Who knew there are walking videos??? I will definitely check those out. Love the idea of a dog but don't think that is gonna fly anytime soon with the hubby. It hit me this morning that I was just making an excuse because it was dark, rainy and I was just feeling blah from the days of darkness. I will camp…
  • Just started a kickboxing class a couple times a week a few months back. At first I wasn't crazy about it but now really enjoying it. It is by far the hardest workout I have ever done and the stress relief is amazing! I always sleep like a baby on those nights. Give it a try if you dare
  • Thank you for posting as I too am living with a lot of stress the past few weeks and haven't lost any weight in weeks despite daily exercise and living in a calorie deficit. Met with my dietitian on Friday as she introduced me to this subject. Very frustrating!
  • I Have a fit bit and use MFP daily I have been at it 3 months. Add me if you want.
  • I am proud of you for putting this in writing! Great job with your sobriety and your daughters sound amazing!! I do have to agree with aggelikik that a good counselor is in order. If not that, at least a good weekly support group. A counselor/group that can support you in your sobriety and help as you work through your…
  • I have only been at this for a couple of months. First time ever doing any type of strength training. Standing in class yesterday I KNEW I was stronger and I could not stop smiling all day! Who knew feeling strong and capable could feel so good!
  • Do you like oatmeal? We have hot water attached to our commercial coffee maker and so I have a quick hot breakfast. I add diced apples and a few nuts for favor.
  • You are awesome!! I too grew up with a mom that was mentally unstable and was never sure what form of abuse was next. I stuffed my feelings down with food. You have accomplished so much more than just weight loss!! So proud of you!!!
  • Vegetable plate - green beans, pintos, steam broccoli, sweet potatoe and small piece of cornbread. (Can you tell I live in the South?)
