My suggestion to you is if the hip pain continues to see an orthopedist. I speak from experience about 5 years ago had a slight twinge in my right hip didn't think of anything of it. 3 years later double hip replacement. Sometimes it may be something as simple as your sneakers or you may need Orthotics to adjust your gaite

All depends on what your goals are. I'm a big fan of Tony Horton and his muscle confusion concept. I've done a few rounds of P90X and I enjoy the change of workouts every month. Sometimes I lost so ad and some of my own exercises and very it all depends on what your

Totally unbelievable what you've done. Congrats on your success

Most important thing you can do is see an orthopedic surgeon. This is something you don't want to mess around with. Every injury is different and only he can determine your issues and the healing time. Also please do not ask people for advice on this website as far as in injury. Even though they may be trying to be helpful…

I'm a big Tony Horton fan. He has a whole bunch of videos which are really good. If you're interested in starting a simple weight routine 10 minute trainer is a good idea. Once you get comfortable you can go to the new version of P90 and then of course there's P90X. Don't be intimidated by the weight room. We all started…

Unfortunately you can't lose weight in a specific area. Your body will determine when and how the weight will come off. it's just a simple matter of genetics. The only thing you can do is leg exercises to firm and tone the muscles up in your legs.

As someone else has stated weight loss comes from a calorie deficit. To put things in perspective if you want to lose 50 lb that means you have to reduce over specific time. Approximately 175000 calories from your food consumption If you drop your caloric intake buy a thousand calories a day that means it'll take you about…

Please don't ask anybody on this website that question. Even though they may be offering what they think is a good example they have no idea what they're talking about and they can give you some bad information that can cause a lot more damage. The most important thing is to talk you to your surgeon and your physical…

As others have previously stated you should definitely see an orthopedic surgeon and a physical therapist. The orthopedic surgeon can diagnose what's wrong with your knee and the physical therapist in conjunction with the orthopedic surgeon will work out an exercise program for. I'm a 57 year old male. A couple years ago I…

You're starting with a good plan. Even though the exercise helps the main way you're going to lose the weight right now is by reducing calories. As the weight comes off the stress on the knees and feet will be a lot less. I lost approximately 80 lb and the level of pain on my knees are so dramatically less. Also I've had…

If you're talking about ads on social media I read an interesting article. Some of these models have genetics that allow them to gain weight and they take before the before picture and then they workout and take the after picture. Yes they did it but it's the way their genetics allow them to do it. everybody is different.…

It doesn't matter what the cast ways. As long as you're eating within your calorie limit you're not going to lose weight. Plus I don't want to be tough with you but don't worry about the damn weight. It's obvious you have to have an injury and your body has to heal itself

As others have stated you have to determine what your goals are. Being honest with you I don't like the vibe at Planet Fitness I don't consider it a gym that could help me but for some people it might be a great place to go. What you also have to understand is no one can motivate you. The motivation has to come from within…

The b**** is jealous of you. Probably when they went back in the house he got the riot act read to him. Congratulations on your success. Imagine how much she loved you once you lose the final 16 lb and have no stomach. Her hubby will probably need a set of blinders to keep from getting killed

Congratulations on your success. I also agree with you as far as the app it is a great way of educating yourself and I'm convinced this is the only way to stay out of the diet yo-yo cycle. I don't look at this as a diet I look at this now as my normal life and the community is an unbelievable Support Network

Congrats on the wedding and zipping up the dress that's all that matters for a mother on her baby's wedding day.

For myself I lost 80 lb in eight months and I've been maintaining that for over a year. Started at 288 my current weight is about 208 give or take. I set a goal of two pounds a week and it seemed to work out pretty well. Actually worked out to about 10 lbs a month. I follow no specific diet. Eat whatever I want, never…

Depending on how they say it whether it's done innocently or if it's done with jealousy I have two different responses. If it's done innocently just say I don't want to if it's done with jealousy or really negatively my answer and I know you can't say it as f*** them. What you have to realize is by you changing and…

In the beginning after my weight loss I kept my clothes. I've been maintaining my weight for approximately one year and about six months ago I started to go through my closet and do a purge of everything that doesn't fit. I'm donating it all to charity. I think if you're not at the point where you're purging your closet…

Reality check for you. Your foot is in a cast and it's only weight-bearing that means you got some serious damage to your foot. It needs to heal Please whatever you do don't take any advice from anybody on this website. Even though their intentions may be good they can give you advice that may really screw your foot up.…

I'll give you my perspective. 57 year old male double hip replacement and arthritic knee that eventually has to be replaced. I basically have no ACL as it's totally deteriorated. As far as exercise it is possible to do it but my suggestion to you would be is to see an orthopedist in conjunction with a physical therapist.…

I'm a big Tony Horton fan. I've done 10 minute trainer the original P90 the new version of P90 and P90X multiple times I started doing the DVDs at home in the beginning but then I committed to going to the gym and I noticed a big Improvement working out inthe gym as far as developing muscle and more definition. You need to see an orthopedist. Please whatever you do don't take any advice from anybody on this website. Even though their intentions maybe good they could tell you to do something that'll really screw up your knee even worse. An orthopedist in conjunction with a physical therapist will give you a training routine to…

I'll give you my background 57 year old male. I've had a double hip replacement and I have an arthritic knee that needs to be replaced. The ACL has totally deteriorated and it's not there anymore. The most important thing you can do is talk to an orthopedic surgeon and a physical therapist to work out a training routine to…

I'm a big Tony Horton fan and his philosophy of muscle confusion. I do the P90 and the P90X which both are a three-month series. In both programs he changes up the workouts after 1 month. For me I really enjoy this as it add some variation to my workout instead of doing the same thing over and over.

Don't be so focused on your age. Age is only a number not an attitude I know 60 year olds who are more active than 30 year olds. As far as lifting exercises at home there's some great stuff on YouTube but I'm a Tony Horton fan. If you're starting out and you're interested in getting some good DVDs I'd recommend 10 minute…

Congratulations on taking the first step. As a previous poster said don't set a time limit you have to make this a lifelong journey. You also want to do with the right way plug your stats and to mfp follow the program and the weight will come off. The trick is making its sustainable if you go on some kind of crazy speed…

Losing weight is going to make a dramatic difference as far as back pain and joint pain. I lost 80 lb and been maintaining that lost for about a year. Just to give you a little background on the 57 year old male 6-foot for about 208 pounds. Half an arthritic knee that needs to be replaced and I've had a double hip…

Congratulations and welcome to the website. The most important thing you have to realize is that to lose weight you don't have to exercise. It's just a matter of eating less calories than your body Burns and you will lose weight with or without exercise. Set a realistic goal for losing the weight approximately 1 to 2…

First of all congratulations on the success. Yes it is an emotional Journey would up and downs. I went through the same thing and it is a process. Maintenance in some sense maybe tougher then losing. To lose all your doing is figuring out your calories decree sit by the guidelines in mfp and it works pretty. Maintenance on…
