  • I like to eat something before I go to bed, so I usually have a sugar free jello cup, which is 5 calories. Or, I have some tea with a splash of milk and that seems to fill me up as well.
  • I got bought those "Idealshake" shakes you see advertised on FB. I was half expecting it to be bogus, but I was pleasantly surprised that they're pretty damn good (the vanilla and salted caramel especially). I was always getting hungry between lunch and dinner, and it's only 100 calories (130 if using unsweetened almond…
  • I love making things in the crockpot, then portioning them out and freezing for later use. I do stuff like chicken tikka masala (made with light coconut milk instead of cream), chicken with salsa and taco seasoning, chili, soups, etc.
  • Family of four here. Husband is a hungry mechanic with a penchant for energy drinks and snacks, and kids are 6 and 4. We hover around $650-700 a month, and that's for every lunch, dinner, and breakfast (no eating out). I coupon and plan meals around what's on sale, and it still feels like so much money.
  • I love chicken fajita bowls! It's just the same stuff you'd make for regular fajitas, but instead of a tortilla, I put it in a bowl with lettuce, black beans, some sour cream and salsa. I also like making pizzas on Flatout pizza crust with a lot of veggies and light on the cheese.
  • You can check mine out. I do eat a lot of the same foods almost daily, though. I find that it helps me stay on track if I pre-log in the morning and know exactly what I'll be consuming each day and at what time.
  • I use Flatout (I like the Red Pepper flavor) as a pizza crust. Bake it at 375 for 5 min, add sauce and toppings, and bake for another 5 min. I usually eat it with a salad on the side. I also make a big crockpot of salsa chicken every week. Couple of chicken breast, chicken taco seasoning, and a cup of salsa in the crockpot…
  • I eat Franz 45 calorie 9 grain bread. It's pretty good and only 90 calories for two slices. I also really like Killer Dave's thin sliced bread. It's slightly more calories (60 per slice), but it's super yummy and healthy.
  • I also eat 100-200 extra if I'm PMS'ing or working out. Sometimes you have to loosen the reigns a bit to keep yourself from going crazy.
  • Yeah, 1200 calories suck. I'm in the same boat. What helps is eating lots of low calorie high fiber/high protein foods spread into 5 small meals. Egg whites, veggies, chicken breast, low sugar fruits (strawberries, peaches, oranges, grapefruit). Try to eat a combination of protein/high fiber/fats together in the same meal…
  • I have eggs in the morning, a vegan protein shake for lunch, and chicken, pork, or beef for dinner. Snack is sometimes Halo Top or a "pizza" made from red pepper hummus Flatout bread, mozzarella, and veggies.
  • I am a late night snacker, and can't sleep if I'm hungry. So instead of three meals a day, I eat 4, and save my "4th meal" for a couple hours before I go to bed. It's usually a mini pizza made from red pepper hummus Flatout bread, a bit of pizza sauce, spinach or peppers and onions, and 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese. Comes in…
  • I bought candy that I'm not really into: fruity stuff, lollipops, sour things. We still had a ton leftover, so I donated it to the local boy scouts who were shipping candy to the troops. I did, however, indulge in a little of my kid's candy because they got a couple full sized candy bars and PB cups on Halloween night. Nom.
  • My local grocery store had some insane Halo Top sale a few weeks ago...it was like, if you buy 5 or more, they were only 1.99 each. Needless to say, I bought as much Birthday Cake and Vanilla as my poor freezer can handle.
  • I'm lactose intolerant, so I need to stick with a vegan protein shake. I've tried quite a few, and the best tasting one to me is Orgain Chocolate (don't get vanilla...it's awful). When blended with ice cubes and unsweetened vanilla almond milk, it's pretty decent. The price point is also really good.
  • I can't go to sleep if I'm the slightest bit hungry, so I save around 150 for late night snacking. Some good options for sweet stuff might be Halo Top (which has protein and fiber), frozen greek yogurt, or one of those Fiber One brownies (they're excellent warmed up!).
  • If it's a convenience thing, it's fairly easy to make your own frozen meals ahead of time. I make my own frozen chicken burritos using shredded salsa chicken (chicken breast cooked in crockpot with taco mix and salsa), la tortilla low carb tortillas, and fat free refried black beans. I then wrap them in paper towels and…
  • I have the same stomach issues. I'm an apple shape, so I have nice shapely legs/butt and a gut that will basically never be flat unless my body fat is ridiculously low or I get surgery. I may actually go for the tummy tuck once I get to my goal weight and healthy BMI. Not just for vanity, but because I already have loose…
  • Hey there! I started out at 180, which was my highest weight. It's been a couple years (and a couple kids!), but I managed to get down to 147 so far. My GW is 130. Believe me...I love food more than anyone I know and if I can do this, so can you!
  • If you mean by chips and cookies, you can lose weight by only eating 1300 calories of junk food, but the amount of food you'd be eating would be tiny compared to 1300 calories of lean protein, fruit, and vegetables. You'd probably go mad with hunger, feel like crap, and end up binging.
  • I'm a big fan of Halo Top. I like the vanilla with a diet root beer to make a 60 cal root beer float. Or I'll just straight up have an ice cream sandwich...which is only 150 calories. Also a fan of berries topped with a tablespoon of cool whip.
  • I think it's better to have a splurge "meal" than it is a whole day. Like have a pizza night or whatever it is you love for a meal. Having a whole day to eat whatever tends to make people really go off the rails sometimes.
  • Elderberry syrup. It's amazing. I mix 2 tbs with some hot tea twice a day and it really helps.
  • For the last couple pounds, you have to be SUPER accurate when logging. If you don't have a food scale, get one. Measure EVERYTHING. You may also need to either eat less now than your were before at a heavier weight (I would re-calculate your BMR), or incorporate some physical activity if you aren't already. Don't eat back…
  • What are you eating and how often are you eating it? For me, I need to eat a small protein/fiber/fat packed meal every 3 hours to keep satiated. Stuff like eggs with whole grain toast, Kind bars, greek yogurt and berries, and some sort of lean meat and roasted veggies for dinner. Some people do better with 3 big meals a…
  • I used to do the whole "well I over ate this food today so I better just finish the whole bag/box so I won't be tempted to do it tomorrow". Like, why did I think that was an acceptable solution?
  • Goldfish crackers and Cheeze-Its are the worst for me. I have a huge savory/salty tooth, so these hit the mark for me. Also banned in my house are chocolate covered pretzels, snap pea crisps, donuts, and thin crust pizza.
  • I like infused water because it reminds me of the glorious one time of year I get to go to the spa. Mmmm...fancy spa water.
  • I place the breast between two sheets of plastic wrap and beat the hell out of it with a rolling pin until it's as flat as can be. There's more surface area this way, so it will cook faster. I put seasoning on, and dump it in a hot pan with a little olive oil. Cover, then flip over after a few minutes. You want them to…
  • Now that it's summer, I love fresh cucumber slices mixed with sour cream, salt, and pepper. It's a really refreshing side dish when it's hot out, or a great snack by itself.
