  • I have the same yogurt incubator. I have been making my own yogurt, usually a fresh batch each weekend, for a couple of years now. I graduated from whole milk and now make it with Half and Half (HnH). I only fill the jars with ~4oz of the HnH culture. BTW, some things for you to try: 1) Try it with HnH. Higher fat to…
  • I made a vegetable tart for easter last year, but made a cauliflower crust instead of the a flour one: http://www.foodrepublic.com/recipes/check-out-this-video-of-a-spiral-vegetable-tart-then-try-the-recipe/ I don't have the exact link for the crust I used, but this version (for the crust, not the quichy part) seems about…
  • I love this idea. I'll have to try it!
  • I lost a car tire.
  • You can add me. I came up pre-diabetic last year. Lost 10 pounds over the course of the year doing standard CICO, then lost another ten pounds adding LC the last couple of months. I don't take any meds. I went in last week to get blood test, still waiting on results to see if I am back to normal range.
  • This is what Kraft had to say about the change in carbs. "Product is reformulated to add a gum (Xanthan) which made minor changes in Carbohydrates that are present in the Nutrition Facts and Ingredient Lines. The product formulation has been built to deliver the same flexibility and performance in all of your spreading and…
  • My take: As long as I am not adding sugar into my diet, any natural sugars in eggs and veggies are acceptable and A-okay as long as they fit into my overall allowable carb count. It would be near impossible to never consume any sugars if you are eating whole and natural foods.
  • I was a bit fascinated by this theory and had the same question. Please note I am not Jewish, but I am fascinated by all things cheese, so I did quick googly search. Based on what I read, this is what I gathered. Corrections or more insights from a Jewish or Kosher cheese maker would be encouraged. Rennet coagulates the…

  • Intrigued by the butterscotch with cream cheese idea. Let us know how it is if you try. I tend to find that cream cheese has a bit of an inherent sweetness that satisfies my cravings, so I would probably opt for no extra sweetener added.
  • Feel free to add me, anybody. I've been doing keto for a few weeks and have been really happy with how it is going. Also, could use new active friends, a lot of the my older friends are MIA.
  • Also, update us how it goes. I love hiking so much, I am giddy just thinking of what a lovely new world is about to open up for you.
  • As it sounds like your are truly starting out, also look into hiking clubs (like meetup or meetin) or through local sports stores (REI in our area does lot's of hiking trips). Sometimes there are fees, sometimes not, but bonus is that you will have experienced hikers, with gear, to help you along and give advice. Easier…
  • I pack a lunch daily. It helps me control and log my meals. Usually with a simple (no dressing) salad, proteins that I know won't go bad (nuts or nut butters, well cooked or cured meats, hard boiled eggs, beans). Cheeses (cheddar, feta, mozzarella, cream cheese) seems to travel well. I do have a nice thermos that I can…
  • Thanks for this thread. Will keeping checking it for great ideas and pretty bento pictures.
  • Just turned 39. Still have 30 to lose. Feel free to add me.
  • I generally assume there is residual on the meat or turkey or whatever, that's why it has the flavor. Maybe a Tbsp since most probably did grill off... that's just my thought. It's a good question though, I'd be interested in hearing what others do as well.
  • Looks interesting, I've never seen this before!
  • Loving some of these, great ideas. My mom used to toss oats into her soups. Along with or in lieu of barley or other grains.
  • My April goal is to just keep losing, at the current rate is fine. I have a couple of upcoming parties and trips that I am hoping to get through without over eating or over drinking.

  • Counter with if he can't do a 3m walk without foot swelling, he needs to get fit for his health (and maybe a double check by the doctor that the foot swelling is only from weight gain and not anything else).
  • Love this idea. Is there some sort of deadline date to get to Mordor and back? Is this a combined effort or each of us working towards it individually? Google spreadsheet? I have used that with others for other challenges on here and it seems to work pretty well as long as there are moderators to maintain it. Participants…
  • I like zucchini in my chili. Chop to about the size of your beans or a little bigger if you don't want to mess up the texture of the chili. Baby kale and spinach would probably go nice too.
  • This ^ I managed to cut back drastically on sugar in my coffee (I use 0.5 tsp) just by spending a little more money on a brand and roast I like a lot. I drink one incredibly good cup a day.
  • I'm in. Thanks for setting this up, smaller goals are less daunting.
  • Thanks for the suggestions everybody!
  • Thank you!
