  • Hi there! I've been on MFP for years too but I re-committed in June of last year and basically ALL of my friends don't log in anymore. I would be happy to add you!
  • Well, these are my goals: - Run my first half marathon 1/25/13 - Do P90X starting in February - Run my second half marathon 4/12/13 - Complete the Tough Mudder 9/27/13 - Reach my goal weight (150 pounds) by June I started at a very similar weight to you last June (227) and I wanted to lose 52 pounds by my birthday in…
  • Hi there! I did Couch to 5k in June, moved on the 5k to 10k in August, and now I am working on Hal Higdon's Novice Half Marathon training. I started out with about 5-10 miles a week. After four months of consistent running I have ran as much as 20 miles in one week. I will say that was not exactly comfortable at the time.…
  • I haven't given anything up, however I am a 10-12 book a month reader... I'm one of those people who makes reading a priority and will ALWAYS find time to read. But in the last few months that has definitely slowed down as a lot of the time that I previously spent reading is spent running! I don't like audio books, so I've…
  • I've lost 32 pounds, I'm over halfway to my first big goal, and people JUST started noticing! People that see me every day tend to notice the changes more slowly then people who haven't seen me for a few months. If I run into someone who hasn't seen me in a while that's when I get the "WOW, you've lost a lot of weight,…
  • I bought mine on finishline.com. The particular shoes I wanted were cheaper there than on Road Runner.
  • Hi! I'm on Week 8, Day 2 of Couch to 5k right now. It does get better! I hadn't run in a long while before I started the program and it was TOUGH, seriously. I am not lying to you when I say it gets easier as you go. My best advice is to not push yourself too hard at the beginning. I thought it would be a good idea to run…
  • Hi! I'm doing Week 7, Day 3 of Couch to 5k today! It was tough at first but I feel like in the last week or so I've broken through a "wall" that was holding me back. I'm on the "Run for 25 minutes without stopping" portion right now and next week is the "Run for 28 minutes without stopping." It was super scary on my first…
  • I was getting out of my car in a Chevron parking lot and a guy stopped me and said "MMMMMM Girl, you're my favorite flavor, can I have a taste??" I got back into my car and drove away. If I had thought the guy was joking, I might have laughed it off... But I'm pretty sure he was dead serious!!!! :noway:
  • I don't find it weird at all, anything in the fridge is fair game at my house!
  • Yesterday after my workout my running partner and I had a TON of calories left and were thinking about splurging on some Dairy Queen Blizzards... That plan ended when I looked up the calories in my favorite one, the Georgia Mud Fudge. Coincidentally it has the most calories of any Blizzard on the menu and a large (which I…
  • Actually going over isn't what has an impact on my weight loss... It's the IDEA of going over, the idea of failure, even if it's just for one day! I think my biggest obstacle was learning to get over the small mistakes and just get right back to it. Going over one day doesn't mean you've failed, it means you've lived and…
  • Favorite thing at Trader Joe's.... Fiberful Ends and Pieces! The only get them in every so often, but they are my favorite and I will buy every bag they have in stock if I see them (sorry to everyone else in my area who also likes them).
  • skinnytaste.com! I've been using it for quite a while but have recently made about ten recipes from her site in the last two weeks. Everything has been AWESOME!
  • I stopped drinking Diet Coke in January... I didn't drink it for over a month and also stopped eating out, telling myself I would have a Diet Coke if and when I went out to a restaurant or something similar. Sometime in February I went to the movies and automatically ordered a Diet Coke without even thinking about it. I…
  • Awesome! You look amazing!
  • I like skinnyms.com. There are circuits and full body workouts, or workouts that target a certain area, and there are videos showing the proper form for all the moves. I did this yesterday: http://skinnyms.com/get-your-beach-body-with-this-head-to-toe-workout/ It seriously kicked my butt!!!!
  • No, I don't anymore. I used to weigh myself every day, night, and a few times in between, but I really believe it was hindering my weight loss. I saw the number on the scale inch down each day, but those tiny losses (even if they were happening every day) were not motivating. And if I stepped on the scale and found I was…
  • If you stay within your calories and it's not a daily thing, I think it's fine! Every time I eat there I think of this episode of Biggest Loser where everyone tells Jillian what they usually order from Taco Bell, so she goes and gets it and tries to eat a whole meal and she is like disgusted and gagging while she is eating…
  • Wow! You look amazing!!!
  • YUM! Definitely try the orange chicken. It is frozen and you bake it and then add the sauce on top. Both items are in the archives and if you have one cup of it with half a cup of rice, it's around 300 calories! Add some grilled veggies and you've got yourself a delicious meal! Also, since there are no artificial flavors…
  • Flip flops at the gym are the only thing that freak me out. I was on the mats stretching and I watched some guy walk in a get on the stair stepper in them. I have a gym in my apartment complex and there is never anyone there monitoring, so there wasn't much I could do besides hope his little toes didn't get caught in the…
  • To be honest, I would trust the HRM above all the other sources. Maybe you DIDN'T expend as much energy on the last one. Maybe you didn't get your heart pumping as fast as the other times.
  • Agreed. Your heart rate goes up as soon as you MOVE. So start it, exercise, stop it, record it!
  • HAHAHAHA!    If you can find a willing one, more power to you! There's nothing wrong with being a house wife. If it were me I'd have to go to some kind of cooking boot camp... Unless you wanted pie or cookies for every meal! That's all I can cook! :P
  • I threw that crap out! I would rather have a Skinny Cow Truffle bar for 100 calories! Much more satisfying! It won't leave me wanting ten more!     :grumble:

  • I agree. I would definitely get a Heart Rate Monitor with calorie counting so you can know if you are really burning that many!
  • ENDOMONDO has a free version that works perfectly! That's what I use!
