Interesting, so you've noticed that you get the low blood sugar symptoms now that you're working out more and, presumably, healthier?

I anticipate that I will run into this when myfitnesspal has me adjust my goals again (currently using its suggested values for 1lb/week). Thanks for the insight.

That's really insightful. You've got me curious about intermittent fasting. Thanks!

Here are a few that I use: 1. Planning your eating for the rest of the day: choose deliberate snacks that you look forward to. You'll know exactly when you can have them and they'll satisfy your craving. 2. Drink: Water, diet soda, crystal light. Anything non-caloric. 3. Chew gum: It's a stop-gap measure that lasts…

Yes, that's the exact recipe that we used. Baking it longer didn't help, but it did seem to be more palatable as a leftover (after being heated up in the microwave) the day after and stuffed in a tortilla with salsa.

You're probably right. We doubled the recipe, which called for forty minutes in the oven, so we ran it for 80 minutes and then some. I'm worried about burning it in the oven if I keep it in there longer though.

Walking with a partner seems to be effective for me. If I get out walking in the morning, the whole day's diet seems to fall right in line healthily.

The American diet of processed food isn't conducive to keeping your sodium intake low. Almost any processed food that you eat is going to be very high in sodium. I was checking out your food diary and you could probably replace those Chicken Strips with homemade chicken breasts cut into strips with some natural seasonings…

I think us husbands are just worried about our wives. For example, my wife dropped 4 pounds on the scale this week (super exciting), but it's not going to be very fun for her when she notices that at least two of the dropped pounds are due to water loss and will quickly come back if not watched. Since your measurements are…

I too suffer from this grave condition ;) Go Coke Zero, or better yet, Cherry Coke Zero!

Wow, I feel like the slob of the bunch. I had 2 hot pockets :(
-
I got 43 done, but my stomach started cramping up :( I'll have to do the remaining 7 later.
-
What about ice cream stored at nearly 0 Kelvin? Maybe that'd be more effective ;)

Barbara Streisand, for some reason.

Take the clippers to the whole thing. Near bald is awesome.

Working out (and eating well) in the morning helps my metabolism get started. If you crank start your metabolism in the morning, your body tends to think that you're going to be using a lot of energy during the day so it gears up to be able to do just that.

Honestly, grilled or roasted asparagus is one of my favorites. It's really easy. Trim off the thicker ends of the asparagus and then spread them out on a baking sheet. Lightly drizzle olive oil over them and cover them with any seasoning you like (I like barbecue seasonings) and then bake at 425 for 12-13 minutes.

You're absolutely correct. In our current world, I think that I can say that most of us are not starving to the point of only caring about the caloric content of our food. Just because a food has a higher calorie count, doesn't necessarily mean that it's all we should be eating. On the contrary, eating a balanced diet with…

While I don't disagree that eating healthy can be cheaper than many people think it is, I think the emphasis of the original post here is that the amount of calories per dollar is being called into question. The McDonalds McDouble dollar-menu burger has 390 calories in it, while the same dollar equivalent of Gala apples…

^This. Take a look at this youtube article on the subject: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgnbRK8pij8

Grilled Udder. Weirdest and most disgusting.

^ This. In all reality, it probably doesn't matter in the long run whether he runs or plays basketball or baseball. The important thing is that he gets and stays active.

I don't have a lot of time to read through the comments and see whether anybody missed anything that I was thinking. I just want to let you know that you deserve to be happy. Yes, his life may have had stress and pressures that led him to become addicted to computer games and that successively ruined your marriage, but in…

I truly think that it's a great show of the effort and work that the individual has gone to and the accomplishment that they've reached. I say, let them show of their work, they've earned it.

As much as I really hate waste, this may actually be the best option. The temptation of keeping that chocolate in the house is probably dangerous enough as it is. Good luck with whatever you do :)
-
I tend not to choose the healthy option at Chinese restaurants either. I rarely go seeing as I can't afford the calories generally.

That looks like a Corgi. I love Corgis.

Feel free to add me.

I changed my alarm clock tone to something reminiscent of heavy metal. That alone tends to get my heart beating enough to wake me up. I then stumble into my clothes and step out the door. The longer I wait to go exercising, the harder it is for me to go.
