  • Well first off...putting beef stock in a veggie burger is about the strangest thing you could add. Other than, you know, meat. You need a binder in there somewhere. If you want to use eggs, use eggs. If you want it to be vegan, try egg replacers like flax seed or enerG. Beans are also great and holding stuff together.…
  • Obsession. It's a good motivator. Also I run probably 3 times a week, walk instead of subway whenever I can, cut out bread/pasta/rice/similar things, and eat all the protein I can get. It's a lot about retraining your body and brain to agree on what you need and then turning that into what you want.
  • I came up with a recipe I absolutely love. It's definitely hard to make homemade low carb protein bars that actually taste good (hey, it's hard enough for giant manufacturers to do it!) but this recipe tastes ridiculously good and strikes a good balance between protein and carbs. RECIPE:…
  • I try to do a lot of that on my blog. Also always looking for more inspiration! here's mine: http://quicheaweek.wordpress.com/
  • I put seitan in almost everything I cook. Then I write about it. Normal stuff. if you need some ideas: www.quicheaweek.wordpress.com
  • I have a decent amount on here to get you started/out of a rut: http://quicheaweek.wordpress.com/ Plus, I'm a firm believer in tooting my own horn.
  • I played with a lot of different shapes to bake these in before deciding mini muffins were the way to go. I'm just guessing that you could make 3 dozen muffins with this recipe. Could be 4 dozen. It was a crapload of batter :) But even if it is only 3 dozen, I wouldn't take 86 calories toooooo seriously.
  • I eat pretty late with no problem. And then I eat a spoonful of peanut butter just about right before I go to bed aaaalmost every night :)
  • Chia seeds are kind what makes overnight oats work. It makes all the stuff gel together and, well, work. Also super health benefits - 0 net carbs, 3g protein per tbls, and a boost of omega 3 with some delightful fat grams. i.e. don't omit it :)
  • If you are actually using this site to accurately track food and calorie intake and now you're eating 2000 calories, I bet you were probably eating a whole lot more calories than you thought you were before you decided to go on a diet. Although it hardly sounds like you're dieting. I'm not entirely sure how you're…
  • ...untrue. Tofu and other soy products provide some protein, but certainly not the only protein you can get and definitely not the best. Seitan is the quintessential vegan/vegetarian protein source. There is nothing else meatless that can compare nutritionally to it, I believe. You can also try tempeh if you're into that…
  • I'm a vegetarian who cooks entirely too much. My diary is open and I also blog healthy recipes pretty consistently here: http://quicheaweek.wordpress.com/
  • I like protein heavy cookies and peanut butter sandwiches.
  • Ooooo Greek yogurt...yeah I should have told you that was not a good idea. I honestly just added cottage cheese for a little tasteless kick of extra protein. It's too little an amount to even taste...
  • You copy the link after "RECIPE" under the picture and paste it into your address bar.
  • Haha everyone's initial reaction is "EW." And then, about a minute later, "Oh." A couple minutes later, "I might..." And then you're completely onboard. The french toast pb and j taste is awesome, I must say. French toast is dependent on its egg wash and often times cinnamon flavor so it kinda just makes sense that this…
  • Yes. Your 1/2 cup is a 1/2 cup and so on.

  • I just made this little beauty: 1 egg, 2 egg whites, 2 dollops of cottage cheese, 2 dollops of chunky peanut butter, and a heaping spoonful of jam. And a dash of cinnamon. It tasted exactly like a french toast peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
  • A) She eats the same thing every day for a week, just in different orders. B) She really likes breakfast and dessert, coincidentally the same thing... C) She's a machine. D) No really. A machine.
  • Definitely replace your very high breakfast carbs (ie cereal) with some very high protein foods (eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, that crap). It'll keep you fuller longer and less craving-y. Also fruits can be misleading. They're of course good for you but in moderation. Sometimes they'll spike your sugar levels and lead to a…
  • MFP starts you off with a really, really low protein goal. Silly low. Unless you have a history of kidney problems AND you eat a bajillion grams of protein a day, you will do just fine with more protein. In fact, you'll most likely lose weight. If you up your protein and stay under your calorie goal, you'll be getting a…
  • If I need something handheld to eat, I wrap whatever low carb thing I'm wrapping in a boiled cabbage leaf. I kinda prefer it to wraps anyways - adds flavor and a bit of crunch. I last did it with some vegan crispy shredded "beef" and absolutely loved it. Eggs are also a good lunch ingredient for some protein without the…
  • I just made them up last night so I'm definitely the only tester :)
  • This topic title had me really hoping for a chocolate peanut butter omelet. Sigh. Now I have to make a chocolate peanut butter omelet.
