that is the ratio i try to follow - especially when lifting weights because of the Protein repairing your muscles. Try it for a few weeks then tweak when necessary!

We weigh about the same but I am 5'4 and pretty active. I normally burn about 2300 calories per day (per my body bugg) MFP has be set at 1200 calories per day to lose about 1 lb a week. I wouldnt go below 1200. I have been told my several trainers that 1000 calories will put your body in starvation mode.

Yes you have shin splints. I get them all the time when I start running. You have to do the exercises to strenghten your shins as well as visit a running speciality store to get the right kind of running shoe. Good luck!

I have 2 nike HRM and one Polar. Never had a problem with the Nike HRM. My watch strap broke on the Polar. Both are good brands. I shopped on ebay and got great deals. Before buying, do your research. I think Polar is the one that's highly recommended but I just love NIKE.

Eating clean is eating "whole foods" from every food group that are fresh and from their natural source. If you want to research this more, I would suggest reading "The eat clean diet" book by Tosca Reno.

Toss the scale! Get a measuring tape!! As long as that number is going down, you are good to go!! Also get your body fat percentage and smile when you see that number reducing as well. I havent weighed myself in a month.

also shop at your local farmer market! I saw the movie and i was totally shocked. I only eat free range chicken and feed my family grass fed beef and I only buy organic.

When i hit a plateau, my trainer/coach recommended that I eat more. Your body has gotten used to your routine and amount of calories you eat daily. Shock your body with a different workout routine and also eat more. It may be time to re-evaluate your diet.
