This is a marathon not a sprint - and learning to pace yourself will get you there. The weight didn't go on in a couple of weeks so why imagine it'll come off that way? Chill out, get your head down and work it girl!!

I know just how you feel, and its not nice..... you have to get angry, I mean REALLY angry - and then channel it into a positive force to work for you. I managed to lose all my weight before the anger ran out - and I now don't care what anyone says or thinks about me... I am stronger for going through the torments that I…

It was a privilege to share your story. At 65 my own journey is considerably slower than yours and its reading about journeys like yours that help motivate and inspire me to continue on my way. After all, its not the destination but the journey that counts

Your eyes look forward and your feet point forward. Try to make your everything about your future rather than the past - or even now. You are a beautiful person and you need to stop putting yourself down - walk away from the bad feeling and into feeling good xx

All of the above - my other half is always bringing home inappropriate foods, chocolates, cakes etc. I leave him to it - he eats it all himself as I won't empower him to make choices for me!! I'm now 65 and only just beginning to take control - so you CAN do it too. Polite but firm - say no thank you!!!

Confident!!

Welcome, I'm also using this site for information as well as motivation. I've had a little break from losing - just maintaining for a while - but am now back to it!! You've done really well to lose during pregnancy - and now you've a little one to keep you occupied that must be motivating in itself!! Best of luck on your…

Today one of our major supermarkets here in the UK was found to be selling own brand beefburgers which appears to contain up to 39% horse meat. I'd rather not eat that hence my need to buy, prepare and cook 'proper' foods, they don't have to be organic just good honest fresh foods....

Don't really have intermediate goals, have a dress size in mind but it an awful long way off right now. Been dieting since February and am still motivated which is a miracle for me!!

Thats the attitude! Thats why I am on here at 65 years of age losing weight. You lost a couple of weeks, I lost decades....BUT I AM NOT GIVING UP, neither should you!! Jump right back on it as I am, you know you are worth it

I read that heavier people who want to walk (thats me) should go for a running shoe as they are more suitable, I went for New Balance and have been very happy with my choice so far

I weigh most days - its a bad habit, once a week is the better option, and I don't measure until I feel I might need to buy smaller clothes, then it such a high!! Its all down to personal choice though, whatever motivates you the best. Good luck whatever you choose
-
Wow Craig, that is amazing - I'm based near Loughborough and am going slow due to my age but your story is inspirational to all of us. Bloody well done!!!

Hi there, I've been on here since February and still have a lot more weight to lose. Happy to meet you!! :flowerforyou:

Enjoy the day - and DO NOT WORRY, it is only once a year so you can afford to let go a bit, I am gonna!!! :drinker:

I'm about 1/3rd of the way through this thing, so well over 100lbs to go - I have friends on here but could always use more - I've been logging in for 220 days today and yesterday was my 65th birthday so I guess you can tell its not been easy for me BUT I AM DOING IT!!! Every day is a new challenge but if I fail today then…

Its Sunday evening here now and I can say that its been a bad few days for us all, the tragic loss of life is felt around the world and we are all saddened by it. I posted a blog today (only done a couple) saying that I am 65 today and that, looking back to when I was 15, all I see is a fat teenager... I have spent so much…

I think about buying something to wear in a smaller size! Using food as a reward is what got me here so I never do it now
-
You cannot believe how much I loved your story - its an inspiration to all of us. Best of luck reaching your goal weight, I'm on my way to mine but have a long long way to go yet, maybe next Christmas!!

I agree with this, enjoy the lunch and don't get too stressed! At the very worst all you'll do is delay losing those next few pounds!!

This is so true, I hit a plateau and was so fed up I went for a blowout meal and bam!! started losing weight again. I am about 1/3 through my weight loss and have taken a while at maintenance calories to allow my body to rest and get used to the weight I am, I'm now ready to return to weight loss calories for another slice…
