what do you reward yourself after losing weight?

I have treated myself to "new clothes" along the way since I dropped 5 sizes, but my "new clothes" were bought at a consignment store. They were new to me though. Once I hit my goal weight, I treated myself to a new hairstyle/dye. I went from a brunette to a red-head. It has been a big change for me. I figured a new body deserves a new hairstyle and attitude.0

Spa treatments. Massage, Facial...and when I get smaller new clothes!0

deff. some new pants ..nothing is more motivating to me than to buy a size smaller and show off the weight i lost ... you can start a fitness jar by putting in a dollar for every pound you lose ..or if you dont have a lot to lose, 1 dollar for every inch lost ( .25 cents for every 1/4 inch lost...and so on, ya get the point ) and after a few months you'll have money toward the special thing you wanna buy yourself0

Any spa treatments! Ahhhhh.....relaxation!!!0

I have rewarded myself at 10 pound intervals without food or drink. Most of my selections have been centered around my journey, hi tech bathroom scale, hi tech kitchen scale, water weights for the pool, new cookbooks for healthy eating, new walking shoes, etc. I've yet to decide what I want for my 70 pound goal from 2-3 weeks back. Might have to be new undies this go around or else go commando!0

this may be odd, but i like buying new gym gear.... helps keep me motivated too like "got my new running tights.....im going gym!" x
Me too. Especially since some of my gym gear stopped fitting.0 -
 I bought a couple new pairs of work pants to reward myself after my 30 lb mark....well, also because my old pants were falling off of me. I'm holding off on buying new jeans until my 50lb mark, but am really looking forward to it.0

One word.....SEPHORA.0

Clothes are mine. When I lost some weight before I went out and bought a new outfit and it was a great motivator when I seen I was down from size 11 to 80

when I was losing weight I used workout DVD's or outfits as my reward. My ultimate goal is to beat my best time in a stage race in August so at that point I will be getting cycling vaction!0

What a great idea! I'm going to steal this0

BUMP!!!
I've set smaller goals - 5lbs each. Things like new workout clothes, hair cut/color, Vibram 5 finger shoes are on my list. My goal weight reward is a Brand new wardrobe.... donate every other old piece that I have. That'll help me with maintenance as well0 -
Exotic vacations... Barcelona, Morocco, Iceland, Dubai0

I have been trying very hard to make my rewards NON FOOD related....I fiqure that was probably part of the problem to begin with. So far my rewards have been......workout clothes, cool new tennis shoes that I only wear to workout/gym, a peice of jewelry that I had been wanting, 50lbs was a completely different hair style, 70 lbs was dress shopping, next is....contacs (I wear glasses) and my 100 lb reward is going to DMV and retaking the photo! LOL0

ive given myself a goal of 17 lbs to loose....every pound i loose is 2 dollars and every workout i do is 1 dollar...so 34 dollars from the pounds and if i work out 5 times a week...that is another 5 dollars...when ive reached my goal...i should have just over 100.00 to spend on gym cloth for sure
this is a good idea i have just started and i too will figure out a cash reward i have a long way to go so i will have to give some thought to this but thanks for the idea debhra0 -
I think its a great idea to keep yourself motivated and a positive reinforcement because honestly who doesn't want more of that ?
.. I actually want to up the anti to a dollar per 10 minutes of my work out.. because I want my goal to be a family trip .. but either way this seems like a totally doable awesome way to keep focused..0 -
some clothes that look good even though hopefully they won't fit soon or jewelry. OR i'll buy something that is still a little to tight to wear and it's kinda a reward and motivation0

More and more dresses! :-D0

I think than buying new clothes in smaller sizes because the current ones are too big is enough reward, at least for me.0

I was always told that when you lose 10 pounds treat yourself to something. Everyone always turns to food but that doesn't make sense to me because I'm trying to cut out a lot of the bad stuff and rewarding myself with it will make me want it more. I like the idea of rewarding myself with jewelery, scarfs (huge scarf addict), shoes, songs for my iPod, new book, ect. Something to help you relax after working so hard to lose the weight and encourage youself to keep losing! When I get to 15 I'm getting new shoes0

.....When I reach my goal of 100 lbs only 1.5 lbs to go I am going to buy myself a bra from victoria secrets because a couple yrs ago I went shopping with my daughter and she wanted to go to victoria secrets because they were having a bra sale well nothing in the store fit me. So this is my reward......
I love the lingerie idea and am going to use this. I never liked Victoria Secret because I've always been a boobalicious girl and Victoria secret specializes in flat chested styles, but a new lingerie trousseau would be a great way to celebrate a new fabulous body. Last time I was at my goal weight, I was a 32DD or 32DDD, depending on the style. Right now, I'm at 34H. There are three times as many styles for the smaller size on BareNecessities.com and so many cuter, sexier styles.
I haven't been giving myself rewards yet. As I approach the halfway point, however, I have been thinking about adding some achievement rewards. From what I've read on this site, it seems that the second half can be harder mentally because the weight doesn't come off as fast, plateaus are faced, and the novelty of small scale/size victories wears off. Therefore, I'm thinking I need a reward for hitting halfway (one pound away!), a reward for getting within 10 pounds of my goal, and a reward for hitting my goal.
A new wardrobe of lingerie sound like the perfect reward for the within ten pounds scheivement. I'm unlikely unlikely to change lingerie size in those last ten pounds so I would be able to splurge like crazy and not worry about wasting money on an in-between size.
Thanks for the great idea!0 -
Me and my partner sat down and came up with a number of rewards to help keep me motivated, the first two are after 5lb losses than it goes up to 7lb losses after that (because I often start something and drop out early on).
The rewards start off smaller and get bigger as time goes on and include things like a new hair cut, getting my hair dyed, a new piercing, buying my first proper corset, shoes!, clothes and finally when I reach my goal weight we're going to go for a weekend away.
It's nice to have something to think of to help keep me motivated and to know that my partner is supporting my weight loss (even if he doesn't quite get the whole calorie counting part!)0 -
After I went down 40 pounds I spent 100 bucks and finally bought me a North Face Jacket in a size Large compared to my normal size XL clothes. It was a great motivation and I love walking around in it knowing its a large.0

I think about buying something to wear in a smaller size! Using food as a reward is what got me here so I never do it now :happy:0

I saw this on another thread, thought it was a really good idea actually .
When I lose my first 5lbs I will get a charm necklace with one charm and for every 5lbs I loose after that I will get another charm and so on and so forth. That way when I wear the bracelet I can see how far I've come and how close I am to the next goal.0 -
for me it is important that I see myself as beautiful so I go out shopping for new and pretty underwear, then I wear them all day around the house.
This is great! Love it!0 -
Right now, I'm just enjoying wearing the clothes in my closet again! I'm sure I'll have to come up with something new when I get bored of them...
Although, I think I'll tend to reward myself for a feat (like running a big race) rather than just movement on the scale.0 -
I make different rewards for each goal met. Dying my hair red was my last little reward. My big rewards are for the end of my weight loss journey. When I get to my ultimate goal weight I'm going to get my tattoo that I've been planning for a couple years and will buy a closet full of clothes.0
