  • I got a set of measuring cups from Ikea because they looked quite cool in the kitchen and has 250ml on the 1 cup size. Quite like the idea of recipes using them but I'm a that's about right kind of chap. In Chinese markets they used to sell rice in bells (some probably still do), the idea is you can strike the measure and…
  • Next you're going to say don't push the red button :grumble: Edit: that was probably dirtier than I meant it to be in hindsight
  • I found the opposite I move a lot more than I thought a desk job would let me so had sedentary settings and logged my walks to work and shops. Turns out on my lazy weekend days I'm walking 8k steps and on a day that's a bit busy it's 16k, I also seem to go up 36 flights of stairs in a day (trips to bathroom, seeing people…
  • Firstly, it won't undo all your hard work, if you hadn't done that you'd be in your previous position with this ahead of you. Secondly, if you have the ability to buy your own food - buy and prepare something healthy before the meal and eat it. Then in the restaurant pick a starter as your main (something you enjoy). If…
  • I had the same question about a week ago. I ended up with a fitbit because I mainly do walking throughout the day (and bit of wii fit in evening) and can have this on 23.5 hours a day. The HRM is better if you want to log exercise for a specific time, or particular things like cycling and swimming (think you need a fancy…
  • no1canadianan - 19 lbs since June is a fantastic achievement AND a healthy rate as well. It's not about the numbers anyway but finding the healthy lifestyle that's right for you. OP, these are all opinions normally formed by what's worked for the poster, unless they are your identical twin it's no guarantee that it'll be…
  • My first one is not to be obese in the many measures: Done BMI <30 - tick The halls.md v2 BMI criteria < 29 - tick waist-to-hip ratio < .9 - tick US waist <40 inches - tick Next European waist 94 cm (about 37 inches and I'm 37 1/8) body fat <25% (26.6%) Further away is Japanese obese BMI which, although I'm European, is 25…
  • The only thing that should make you look pregnant is being pregnant, this should possibly be hint enough. Also best term I ever saw on MFP was about the impact of too much fiber (from bananas) if you don't drink lots of water, they turn into bumputty
  • You do look rather shocked in your last photo. Looking good (not talking about your diary), keep the good work up.
  • Congratulations. It seems silly to be happy about this because it's a lbs like any other but I was so thrilled with this (it was my first medium term goal). My only downside was I only just passed it so my scale (one I always use for weigh-in) said I was overweight but the Wii (fit) was putting me back as obese for most of…
  • I don't do this but an option is have sleep in two parts. 4 hours, get up and do some stuff then back to bed for sleep part two. I have 98% efficiency but only been sleeping 6 to 6.5 hours so wake up a little tired  and distracted ... this is not the post i was looking for.
  • Take a salad, fruit or veg in and 40 mins before have that and some water, you won't be making decisions hungry that way (which are never the right ones).
  • A doctors weight should be the last thing you worry about. I had a few friends that became doctors and went to a Uni with a large student nurse population - fun drinking people but dear God I try not to think about that when I visit them.
  • 5-7 male 183 lbs now (216.4 when started on 11th May 2012) Age 36 Currently consuming 1200 base and exercise calories (more if hungry) at 50% carbs, 25% protein, 25% fat. • As a bloke it's awful (for me anyway). I find it quite rude of people and try to ignore it. I think part of it is a feeling that they judged me before, if noticing now.
  • I like the theory that it stops those that get bored / tempted snacking, so helps reduce weight. I do eat late and have had no issues losing (or indeed putting it on first).
  • one of the few that is lighter in afternoon, weight for me varies by 2-3 lbs.
  • I got weight watchers brand from Argos for about £20. Does the weight (KG or lbs) hydration, BMI, Body Fat and Bone density - programmed for up to 4 people. Fairly consistent I find but you can change your weight if you stand at the very back of the front so need to put your feet in about the same place. Had a look but…
  • pitta bread is good (weight watchers I like), only wrap 1/2 lemon in cling film to squeeze late if you don't want mush. Just saw hairy dieters and they suggested a wrap: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/tuna_nioise_wrap_20414
  • soup is a good choice. Wash mouth after every meal Be careful when brushing (especially if you have stitches) When you're getting your injections wiggle your toes (trust me).
  • Wow this is my (first big) target, nice to see the potential end point. lucky kisses.
  • No it's the Chavs
  • This has been debunked (will try to find UK study) activity levels haven't dropped. Turns out we're just feeding them fatty, sugary rubbish then blaming them for being lazy because it's easier. Bet your son doesn't come home to big macs and pizza every night.
  • Could be work come down, what about an evening post work walk? Helps me me forget work (or prepare to do some evening work if needed)
  • I am pretty sure she is right, regardless of the facts.
  • Has: reduced calories (1,200) with eating back all (or sometimes more if hungry) exercise. Not overly stressing everything is spot on and clean. Not: don't know yet long term as above is first attempt but eating out at restaurants (big meals) impacts for few days (prob salt).
  • We're weight lose twins! well quite similar. 26 lbs as well and half way (for initial target) May, 2012 Weight 216.4 lbs BMI 35.1 – “Obese” BF% 33.5% – “?” August, 2012 Weight 192.0 lbs BMI 29.8 – “Overweight” BF% 28.3% - "don't know" Congratulations as well.
  • The UK has seen a renascence in food over the past decade, not just in London but all over. It's easy to eat buttery, creamy salt filled loveliness but equally possible to eat well. Eat local produce (if available), in season vegetables and pick organic (closely regulated here). timeout is good site to find places like:…
  • Lost just over an average 2 year old, a slightly fat one perhaps? Just the amount of cheese an average American eats in a year , to hit target of an average adult woman (and shes 5'4½") holding 10 dozen large eggs. I saw you with a box. What was in the box?
  • Congrats. From a physical nicotine addiction point of view you're well past (maybe even over) it. Just the autopilot part of habit to kick. Really well done.
