Congrats on the challenge! I hope it works out for you! :flowerforyou:

Welcome to MFP. This site has been extremely helpful to me. The one thing I can tell you is to not try to lose weight for your husband. You have to want to do it for yourself. If you make these changes in your life it will help you. Yes, it will also (probably) make you more attractive - although some men don't care - but…

Thanks for the information  :flowerforyou:

Amen! I don't agree with that in all cases but in this one - definitely! :flowerforyou:

I'm with ya! I love mfp! :flowerforyou:

Also think about some fruit - you may need the natural vitamin C. You're right - don't stress - one day won't make a difference and even if you're still feeling bad tomorrow rest your body. It needs its energy to mend itself. That's the way God made it so take care of yourself and I hope you feel better!! :flowerforyou:

Diet sodas always made me crave sugar - the fake stuff just made me want it that much more so if I want soda, I drink a glass of real soda and then I'm done. I don't do it frequently (maybe a glass a week - or 2 if its TOM) but knowing I can have what I want, just to moderate my amount, makes a HUGE difference. Eat what…

I understand how you feel. I held a plateau for what seemed like FOREVER!! Them, BAM, it let up and things started getting better. I still get discouraged but, on days like today, when I put on a pair of jeans that I've had for a couple of years (that used to be tight) and they're almost too big, I feel soooo much better…

What ^she^ said. You'll be fine. Sometimes it's better to go over your calories on some days - it's supposed to help your body lose weight - not sure how but I'm sure if you look through older posts you'll find info about zig zagging your calories. It's okay!! :flowerforyou:

bump for valuable information thanks! :flowerforyou:

Small goals sometimes seem easier to achieve because you reach them faster and it's less discouraging seeing 'how much farther' you have to go. Good choice! Keep working hard! You can do it!!! Yay for you!! :flowerforyou:

Some days are harder than others. I wish I had some grand wisdom to offer you but all I have is encouragement - you achieved your weight goal - that's awesome!!! I have no doubt you can maintain it. It's a moment by moment, day by day thing. Hang in there! :flowerforyou:

I have been like that off and on for a couple of weeks...it's the pits!! :grumble: Finally I just decided that it was something I *HAD* to do. Once I got up and worked out I felt SO much better...so so so much better. I was glad I did it. Now for tomorrow......tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it....well no…

Don't lose heart, continue to work out and ask for encouragement/help when you need it. We all go through it! :flowerforyou:

That's awesome! You're an inspiration to all of us! Keep it up!!! :flowerforyou:

I find that when I just seem to want to eat, eat, eat sugar free gum and a tall glass of cold water seem to help. I also try to get up and do something that requires my hands and walking, ie. cleaning, laundry (if at work try walking to the copy room to do your copies or something like that). Something else that helps is…

I'd love the pumpkin cheesecake recipe too, please

I don't normally 'curb' them. I meet them just with a small amount (hopefully!) of what I'm craving. I try to determine what food I want based on the following criteria: salty or sweet crunchy or soft spicy or mild Then I find something that fits and have that. Usually that works for me. Sometimes a good dill pickle does…

Isagenix is a product line. You should be able to find out information about them on the net. I have tried their protein shakes and they're quite good. :flowerforyou:

40 lbs is awesome!! Don't let her rob you of your joy in your accomplishment! Regardless of WHAT she meant just take it as a compliment that she was shocked and awed by your weight loss and use that as encouragement. My daughter has had a girl that constantly seems to take joy in harassing her. She says 'nice' things with…

My family really is great. When they realize they've asked me to do something that's hard or offer to share something that I can't have (I try to decline politely) they really do feel bad. It's evident in their demeanor and their response. It's just hard for anyone who doesn't have the disease to understand all that it…

Awesome job quitting smoking! :flowerforyou: It took my husband years to quit and he feels like it's one of the best decisions he's made! (He is awesome, after all! ) His decision to quit came with our children praying during our family prayer time that he would quit smoking. It was also confirmed when the bottoms of…

That's awesome! I'd never use an escalator if our stairs were like that around here! What a great idea! :flowerforyou:

I also use the sparkpeople recipe calculator and then add my food in here under a name that I can easily find. Sparkpeople is a fabulous site and works quite well in conjunction with this one. :flowerforyou:
