  • Oh you poor thing - I've been there ... a few times.. I have 5 kiddos all under the age of 6...so I know the feeling of trying to get down in weight then whamo. Sadly, I didn't succeed well at staying fit during my pregnancies, I totally allowed it to be an excuse, a cover up, for the added weight from eating too much and…
  • Also - the food bit, I haven't looked too much into her plan, I'm just going to get back to logging my food here - that's worked the best for me in the past.
  • I started last week as well. Last week I didn't do any of the LISS, but yesterday I did for the first time - what does everyone else do for this?? Just curious... to me, walking 35-45 mins is boring, but jogging that long is impossible lol...last night I walked (@4mph) for 8 mins, then jogged at 4.5 for 17 mins then walked…
  • this is me too! I've slooooooowly lost 35 pounds since my last daughter was born 2 years ago and I'm determined to pick up the pace and lose my last 20-25lbs THIS SUMMER! (I wanted to have it gone BY this summer, but I'll have to settle for buying all new small FALL clothes and stick to my bigger summer clothes from last…
  • Did anyone get an answer to this, I have the same problem
  • Sometimes my day gets busy the second I'm done working out, so I'll stay in them for an hour or so while I get the kids ready for school etc...but I'm breastfeeding my 8 week old daughter right now, so normally I have to change and clean up - because sports bras are NOT nursing bras lol
  • Thank you everyone! My hubby and I did a little more google searching last night and by hearing everyone's input on here, we totally decided this is NOT a risk we're willing to take, so I'll sit this one out - my head is sad, but my heart is glad! :) Anyway! Maybe I'll sign up for a few 5k runs this summer!
  • Because, once you've had children, you know there is an INCREDIBLE difference between a 12 month old and a 20 month old. MAJOR - in size, maturity, abilities everything. Once they hit 2/3 years old that rapid development slows down so it's a little more understandable to others when you say, my 2 year old, or 2.5 year…

  • Fun times with the fam :)
  • You look AMAZING!! What a difference - wow!!
  • Baha - I've got that part covered - I'm a mom to 4 little kids - that's how I feel every single day - putting out fires, making healthy meals - making this household tick...that gives me the charge I need :) in all seriousness though, I really just want to be fit and healthy and look nice, I don't have aspirations of being…
  • that does stink - I'm in Ontario, and we're getting a similar storm right now....maybe if you shift your thinking and make it a cool memory of your first run - who knows you might feel so empowered having completed your FIRST 5km race in the ice and snow it will launch an amazing summer of running for you!! Nothing can…
  • Good perspective! You'll do well and have a long life loving your kids :)
  • Me: 38 +1953.8 = 1991.8
  • Please remember - 5% is STILL healthy!! the %'s chart is based on HEALTHY children - if your child drops below 0 or greater than 100, then you have a reason to be concerned - your child is just simply at the lower end of HEALTHY - no "failing" in any sense!! I wish doctors would communicate that more clearly - the chart is…
  • I'm on my way too! I have 4 children, my last was born a year ago. In between pregnancies I would "settle" around 195 pounds. I'm 5'8". I tried a few things to lose the weight inbetween but never really took the bull by the horns, and once I got prego again, I'd just go back to inactivity and eating whatever I wanted. Last…
  • Love this!! I'm at 38 pounds down...so maybe that's one of those bags less a couple days of doggie breakfast! :) Way to go on your loss!
  • Don't fear!!! :) I got up to 36G after my babies at my highest weight of 195. My breasts were the first and fastest area to shrink when I started loosing - YAY! I'm now down 35 pounds with 20 more to go and I just got measured yesterday at 34DD!! 1-2 more inches for me and I'll be a nice normal number! :) I highly doubt…
  • Ok, the ONLY reason any of us are on MFP is because we got seriously screwed up in our "programing" either as kids or young adults, and we over-eat and NOW have to count precisley in order to retrain our ways of thinking and to LOOSE the weight. Children are blank slates AND not born overweight - so as a parent, there are…
  • I've asked neighbours before if I could take their dog for a run!! The dog loves it, I love it and the owners normally love it too!
  • I love this suggestion! I'm sure all the other moms would think I'm nuts - but ...maybe I am! :)
  • I'm in my final week and though the scale didn't move MUCH (only 7 pounds) my body has changed dramatically! This past weekend with easter, it was SO fun cause family that hasn't seen me since Christmas jaw's dropped lol. So, it was super hard, and I missed many days (I made the decision early on that I would charge…

  • My husband brought some belgium chocolate home from a recent trip...and at first I was DYING wondering how I was going to live with that in the house. Finally one day, I thought about it...I read the cals, and saw that for 20g it was 105 cals - I had no idea what 20 grams of chocolate looked like, so I put it on the…
  • I'm in Ontario too - just north of Toronto! Enjoy losing weight! The weather is getting nicer now, and we can go outside for activites that are MUCH more difficult in the winter! :)
  • I exercise at home...but I just take a small elastic and pull my bangs back - you don't get so sweaty on your neck cause they'res no hair there! As soon as you start getting sweaty under your neck, it will likely fit in a ponytail again! Way to go with donating your hair - it will be alblessing to someone I'm sure! :)
  • Try breathing through your nose rather than mouth - I have NO idea if this is true, but I found when I started running, I had the same thing as you, then as I got better, and concentrated on my breathing, getting really deep breaths in through my nose, I don't need to spit...might just be my body is getting used to running…
