  • Gardein is my favorite vegetarian brand but it's hard to find a lot of their stuff around here. Their sweet and sour chick'n is so amazing. I do eat Morningstar from time to time, a lot of it is pretty tasty. The sodium in this stuff is so high though! I'm trying to find a recipe I like for homemade veggie burgers and all…
  • Thanks everyone! I just sent out some friend requests. It's great to connect with people going through the same issues.
  • Feel free to message me any time and I can help you out. Try not to dive in too hard. If you go from eating 3000 calories to eating 1200 calories overnight your body isn't going to be happy.
  • Losing weight isn't as hard as you're making it out to be. You CAN eat and you can actually eat a lot if you make good decisions. I've seen a lot of people try to stick to 1000 calories or less and it's not healthy. I see people who eat nothing but salad and apples because they are low calorie. That's not going to work…
  • If you go with egg whites there is a lot less cholesterol. Also, 600 calories is WAY too low, especially if you are burning. You realize that means you have negative calories each day, right? That's not good. Your body uses calories as fuel. 1200 should be the minimum as a woman and that's only if your're not exercising.…
  • Well, you should only have a 1000 calorie deficit INCLUDING your exercise. If you exercise more you can eat more and still lose weight. That's a lot of calories to be burning.
  • Guilt is your enemy in this. Don't feel guilty, you NEED food! The biggest thing is breakfast. You want plenty of protein, some fiber, and some fat. I'm a big fan of eggs with veggies for breakfast. I break my meals up into 300 calories each. If you're aiming for 1700 calories (like your diary says) then you get 5 300…
  • I started around 350. MFP to log my food and exercise is the only thing that got me losing weight because I always knew how much I was eating and burning. Estimating just doesn't work.
  • I've been taking cinnamon and chromium for a while now when the doctors told me I had prediabetes. It really helped a lot! My fiance is diabetic and it's helped him manage his blood sugar too. The doctor mentioned metformin but is running some more tests first. I'm still reading up to decide if I want to take it.
  • Hey! I just found out I have PCOS. I'm still learning and figuring out how to get it under control and I'd love it if you'd add me.
  • I use my FitBit for daily activity and my HRM for more intense cardio. The fitbit keeps track of calorie burn from your everyday walking but you still want to use a HRM for things like Zumba, kickboxing, and that type of thing. The FitBit can't accurately count that.
  • Generally if I eat a lot of carbs it makes me more hungry. Especially with breakfast you want something with a good amount of protein and fiber. You should also make sure you are getting plenty of water. Going to the doctor and asking to be checked for vitamin deficiencies is also a good option. If you are lacking in…
  • That makes sense. Shouldn't be too much of an issue since in a few months I'll have room to get a bar and everything. Looks like most of these links suggest starting with a set of 5s for most exercises and a set of 10s for other? I have a set that can go from 3 to 45 per dumbbell so I'm good there. Just wondering if that…
  • Thanks for the links and tips. When I move I plan on turning the extra room into a gym instead of an office but I figure why wait to start then when I can buy dumbbells to use NOW.
  • Right now I have some cheap dumbbells with plates and they go up to 45 pounds. I'm fine with buying more dumbbells, they aren't too expensive and my fiance and brother-in-law can use them too. I've just been feeling discouraged because every program I find wants you to use barbells.
  • Moisturizing helps a lot too. I use coconut oil and aloe everyday on my stomach area. Dry skin won't shrink up as easily.
  • Actually, there is only one here. I don't like putting my actual town in my profile, that's just a town near me.
  • Thanks! I'll check out both links.
  • Jeez guys. Valid question. lol I love scooping out bagels and filling them with things. You get the chewy crust part and fill it with yummy stuff. I like to fill mine with a mix of cucumber, avocado, and a bit of cream cheese. Generally I weigh them. I would just log like .75 of the bagel for now to be on the safe side and…
  • I'm no a fan of Dr. Oz but Chris Powell's carb cycling system is what he teaches people on Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition. It's more difficult to stick to than the average lower calorie diet, but everyone I know in real life who's tried it lost weight and kept it off, and they lost faster than I have.
  • I had one Baby Ruth and split a Twix with my fiance. Today I had half a Twix and I'm saving the other half for later today. I normally have some form of chocolate everyday so all in all I don't crave it. Normally I have one or two dark chocolate truffles and so normal candy was kind of disappointing.
  • You want to make sure you are getting plenty of protein and healthy fats with your diet. Avocado and nuts are great for getting those healthy fats. I would also highly suggest trying to fit some small snacks in there. They don't need to be big, just a handful of nuts or something. Realize that when you DO hit your goal…
  • It sounds like we should be friends.
  • Posts that really weird me out, which is hard to do. People who eat way too little. I deleted a few people that were eating 800 cals a day. I had an eating disorder and I don't want to surround myself with people that eat too little because whenever I do, I start eating less.
  • I've tried one flavor and it was tasty. I did feel better while drinking it. I quit when my I asked my BeachBody coach for a sample of a new flavor and they wanted to charge me $10 for it. Umm... if you want my money, there has to be some give and take here.
  • My fiancée likes to get the grilled chicken burger there sometimes while we shop. I like the fruit and walnut salads. The yogurt has more sugar than I would personally like, but it makes a tasty on the go snack.
  • That is amazing.
  • I have the same problem. A lot of "you'll never stick with it" and "I don't believe you"s. I just don't talk about it with people who won't support me. It sucks to not be able to talk to my family about it, but I also use it as motivation. One day they will see me and they won't be able to say those things.
  • I'd suggest a higher protein breakfast. Cereal is mostly carbs and won't keep you full nearly as long as a breakfast with protein. Aiming for around 20 grams of protein with breakfast and some kind of high quality carb with fiber like whole wheat bread will keep you full and satisfied longer. Carbs generally leave you…
  • Well, she obviously already talked to him. I would be worried about his health too. I'll never understand why so many people on this forum would rather jump on people than offer up helpful advice.
