Yep, to get the legs you want, you need to put in some serious weight training on your lower half. Running isn't going to do it.

Heavy lifting will help preserve lean muscle while losing weight

I eat everything and worry about it when I get back.

yes

If you're going to see someone, it should be an RD. In the U.S., "nutritionist" isn't a protected term and anyone can apply it to themselves. There are websites where you can pay $50 and they'll send you a fancy piece of paper saying you're a "certified nutritionist."

It can easily take 3-4 weeks or more to recover from influenza. Did you get the vaccine?

My husband says that we have no food, only "ingredients."
-
Yep. I put them in my oatmeal for a fiber boost.

I lived outside as a kid ( from the era of getting kicked out in the morning and "don't come home until the street lights come on") and I was nearsighted and in glasses by 5th grade. I agree with FL hiker; most of eyesight is genetic.

If I ate 36 eggs a day I'd be so constipated I'd explode.

How did you get to the point of needing to lose weight if you can't eat that much food? I guy with your stats would burn close to 2000 calories a day in a coma, much less walking around. It's super easy to eat more than 2000 calories a day. Have some nuts. A peanut butter sandwich. Cheese.

As someone with foot issues requiring surgery, I'm here. No cortisone, no anti-inflammatories, no walking boot? Her body is still developing at 15, even if she's reached her adult height, and she needs calories to do that. And even if weight loss is the needed treatment, you're giving her a deficit that is too big, she's…

I don't own a scale; I go by how my clothes fit.
-
This. Your body is still maturing and that's going to include putting on a few pounds as you develop a woman's body instead of that of a child.

My soccer ball size fibroid weighed six pounds
-
Yes, it could.

Just want to jump in and say that your body is still maturing, and getting back to your previous weight may not be attainable in a healthy way. You'll still be experiencing changes up until about 25 or so.

Just coming in to say this. They used to have a video on their website showing the science behind their design.

I am also like this. When I was in school for my allied health profession, we had to do pretend rehab sessions. When walking the treadmill, my heart rate shot up. This caused all kinds of panic, I was sent to the ER, several STAT tests were performed, and...nothing. Cardiologist said "Some people are just this way, and…

How do you manage to eat only a cup of Cap'n Crunch? If I have one piece, I'm eating half a box.

A glucose level of 56 would be low, not high (normal 70-100), which is the opposite of what's seen with prediabetes. You need to talk to your doctor.

Former ice cream scooper here--if you're nice, your scoop will be pretty large and solid all the way through. Could be 5-6 oz, depending on the cone being used. If you're mean? Your scoop will be smaller and likely hollow, so around 2 oz. The only way to know is to bring a scale or take it home and weigh.

I had a fibroid the size of a soccer ball; I had all the problems others here mention and more. It was too big for embolization. The hysterectomy was the best thing that ever happened to me. And mine was done laparascopically--a big tumor doesn't necessarily mean open surgery.

I guess the 5-7 calories you burn doing push ups contributes to your calorie deficit, but it's not a major portion.

Because I've been using a paper diary for literally decades and find it easier to continue to do that than to enter everything into MFP (I tried it in the beginning and paper logging is just faster for me).

I like Pure Protein as well, but the Kirkland ones have 15 grams of fiber, which is an added bonus for me.

Yes, you need to recomp by eating at maintenance calories and doing heavy lifting (which does not require a gym membership). Here's a picture I post all the time of a woman who did a recomp. On the left, at her goal weight. You can see that she still looks sort of soft and squishy. On the right, after a recomp. She's 14…

If your husband can see the difference, it's happening. Many who are overweight continue to see their old selves in the mirror. Your plan to take pictures will help you see what he sees.

I think the chocolate chip cookie dough is the best Kirkland protein bar. And as for Premier Protein bars? I like the nutrition profile, but they have a funky taste, especially the salted caramel. And they're kind of hard and grainy. The Kirkland chocolate peanut butter isn't great, but it's grown on me WAY more than the…

Chiming in with what everyone else said--if you don't change your eating habits, WLS isn't going to work. I know two people who had the surgery, and they're now fatter than they were before the operation because they kept their old eating habits. Since you're a student, take advantage of your school's mental heath…
