  • how do you know you are eating 1800 calories? Is that net or gross? Weighing and measuring everything?
  • Heart rate monitor will give the best approximation for you...it is effort based, and I doubt that your effort matches anyone else's...number of reps, did you modify, when did you max out, number of breaks...this all goes into the burn for a given individual...simply pressing play and standing there does burn any calories…
  • I think the key with any of this research is the "up to" part that I put in bold...If you are really huffing and puffing and power walking/cleaning as hard as you can go...then you might get there...if you think you are there, a good way to verify is by wearing a HRM during the activity and see what kind of results it…

  • How much of all those foods is the question...those are are all "healthy" I suppose
  • it is being released on BB tommorow and has only been sold thru coaches for a couple weeks...only results out there right now will be test group participants... I am looking forward to this programs as well...good luck
  • I think it is different strokes for different folks...some people make it the main focus of their life and as a result lose a lot of weight quickly (Biggest Loser scenario) Other people want to improve, but they can't or won't make it a main focus , so they don't see the dramatic results. Life gets in the way for some,…
  • Do you only drink water other than the coffee at breakfast? No juice or milk?
  • You can strengthen/condition the muscle you already have while in deficit, but it is unlikely you will add new muscle
  • I was simply reading about a subject and trying to gather information on it...I dont know any other way to become "of like mind". I didnt say anything for or against the practice of juicing...just was asking for clarity on the facts. It seems like the convenience far outweighs the loss of certain nutrition to most people,…
  • The way I read this thread is as follows...juicing will not provide every single benefit of just consuming the fruits and vegetables, but it does provide much convenience to people who want most of the benefits of these foods...juicing is substantially better than not consuming any of the fruits and vegetables...am i…
  • I don't think I have ever thought of insanity as a beginner program...you should definitely have some level of fitness or athleticism if you truly want to be successful at it. Diet is key, and everything can modified if need be. IMO the training that your body gets from it translates really well into real world fitness…
  • inaccuracies in you food intake and your burn estimates are likely the case. Good luck getting everything heading in the right direction
  • you have to burn more calories than you eat, it is nothing magical. You can do that by maintaining current activity levels and reducing food intake, or maintaining current food intake and increasing activity levels to create a deficit. At the end of the day, you just have to make it a priority over the other things in life…
  • nope, nobody knows how hard you went or if you completed all of the exercises without breaks, so we dont know how many calories you burned...HRM (heart rate monitor) is the only way to some what accurately track the burn for these workouts
  • I am midway in recovery week right now...so far so good...started insanity at 211 and currently at 202...looking forward to month 2 :)
  • heart rate monitor will get you about as close as possible...all the programs are effort base...pushing play and watching the DVD doesn't burn the calories, it is what you do (thats why there are not presets for these)...its all how hard you go. Did you do every rep with good form, were you taking lots of breaks, did you…
  • because crossfit is effort based...it will be different for everyone and it will be different for the individual based on how hard they went that day. HRM will be your best bet
  • I am in week 4 right now (cardio power today)...I am feeling great and can tell that my energy levels in my day to day life are up. I am down 6 pounds so far...keep up the good work eveyone
  • Eating right along with doing Insanity is the key...the workout by itself wont have as great of results without the proper food
  • "a group of Syracuse University researchers measured the actual calorie burn of 12 men and 12 women while running and walking 1,600 meters (roughly a mile) on a treadmill. Result: The men burned an average of 124 calories while running, and just 88 while walking; the women burned 105 and 74. (The men burned more than the…
  • more than a pound week is very doable if you reallly control your food/nutrition and exercise...good luck with your plan
  • Started my round of Insanity this week as well...Pure Cardio today! Good luck everyone
  • equipment requirements are different...do you have pull up bars, dumbells, etc? They are required for P90X. Insanity only needs your body weight and maybe a mat for comfort
  • you wont gain muscle or weight from the muscle, you might/likely will strengthen the muscle you already have and lose some of the fat that is covering it up which makes you see more definition...eating at a deficit and exercising will never make the scale go up given consistent weighing practices Also, how you actually…
  • ^ Have to disagree, it definitely works if you commit to it That was the first time I ever did Insanity...I ate right, measured my food with a scale (still had fun with friends, ate out, had beers) did the work outs every day and I saw results the whole time I was doing the program. 12/24/2012-205lbs 1/2/2013-198…
  • I would guess you are eating more calories than you think you are (portion size is too large maybe)...clean eating does not automatically mean low calorie, you can eat way too much plain chicken (example) in a day...High effort and meeting your calorie goals (weighing/measuring food) should get you where you want to be. I…
  • Better for what? Feeling full? Putting on muscle? Losing weight? Staying regular?
  • hand weights will effect your grip strength as well as your arms...wrist weights will leave your hands free to do whatever...
  • Heart rate is really the only way with these type of exercises...so many variables come into play...body type, effort, number of breaks, etc, all play into how much you burn. Did you do every rep with perfect form, or were some of your jumps/squats/whatever higher or lower than others. Did you use a modifier (some…
  • This is a difficult question into answer on the internet...it depends on your body type/composition as well as the amount of effort that you are putting into the program. Are you just going thru the motions, are are you really making every movement with maximum effort and focus? Probably not what you wanted to hear, but…
