I have weak knees too. The Elliptical works well for me.

I've gotten a wide range from Brendan Frasier to Tony Romo, but the one that I LEAST liked was Seth Rogan....WTF?!?!?!?!

Hmmm, I read the topic, granted sharing it was not kkeeping on focus with FITESS/HEALTH, but maybe she needed someone to talk to because she felt that she had noone else TO talk to about it. I think we should count it as a compliment that she chose us to open up to and share such a personal problem, this means we are all…

I'd invest in an HRM and use that number everytime you work out. This way you have a more accurate reading. In my case my HRM showed that I burn MORE calories than MFP ever told me I did - so you could be pleasantly surprised. In any case, the HRM would be far more accurate than the actual machine and the website. And you…

What about red licorice? or Black or whichever flavor you prefer.

I found a used (only used once) POLAR on Craigslist for $30 bucks! About a third of the cost of buying a new one and I really enjoy mine!

I get the same pain from time to time (I type alot for work) so when this happens, i modify the pushup by doing them on my knuckles and keeping my wrists straigt and firmly fixed in place. This is good for two reasons, it aleviates the pain AND a pushup this way is more difficult than palms down. No need to get pushup…

I subscribe to this method. I've been over 1,000 or so already, I logged it but I also think that taking a break from logging is good to keep you from burn-out. Let's face it, we don't always want to be on top of our game and that's O.K. Just make sure to get back IN the game!

Its my opinion that excercising/toning is a living breathing animal and is always changing. As we get fitter, we will have to find new excercises to work muscles that once could easily be manipulated by other routines. I've noticed in my weight loss that I'm not losing consistently all over, its in places here and there.…

By your definition of FOODIE, I am a FOODIE times 2! I love it love it love it....Here's a breakdown of what I do to keep from being too bad. 1. Mind set - make a decision to eat healthy and STICK with it 2. Excercise 3. ALLOW yourself to indulge from time to time, BUT ONLY if you compensate with more excercise. (I…

Send me a private message. I ENJOY writing papers and also write for pleasure. I have been published a handful of times in different magazines. I wouldn't mind giving you some tips.

I am an avid believer in setting SMALL SHORT-TERM goals. Once you acheive that goal, consistently, not just once then you can set the goal just a bit higher. I've only been on here for three weeks but my first goals I set for myself (the ones I try very hard to acheive) are to log ALL of my food/exercise and water for the…

Net Calories= Calories eaten - Calories excercised.

I like Billy Blanks I have serveral of his dvd's. To up the workout I add ankle weights and hold free weights in my hands while doing the excercises to replace the bands. If a weight becomes to easy I inrease it. It yields great results.

Thanks guys!

I don't break calories down into allotments for each meal. I just put in my food and if my calories start adding up toward the middle of the day I make sure the do the excercise required to make up for it so that I can have a sensible dinner. I"m new here so my advice should be taken lightly!

With me, I have to start with small goals...For instance, today I just posted that I'm celebrating my first day of actually loggin in my food/excercise and finally drinking a full 8 glasses of water. I've been on this site for about two weeks now. Instead of tacking these small tasks all on the first day I"m allowing…

I had very good luck today with an HRM actually. I found a used POLAR HRM on craigslist, paid a third of the cost for it. I've used it all day today and its been terrific.

HOTNESS! Good Job

Resistance bands definitely, free weights are so much more effective.

Once you become fit, but were once a geek, you fall into a sexy nerd catagory that everyone wants, this is my belief anyway because that's where I'm putting myself once I"m inshape LOL.

Thanks!

Job well done!

I'm a newbie....about two/three weeks here and I've lost 3 lbs. I'd say from one newbie to another, follow that your calorie guidelines and try to log as much as you can. I'm still not logging every day but I'm getting better at it.

....and ya i did my math wrong. its more like 1.75 lbs per week. you'd have to stay on top of it and be very diligent to keep excercising and eating lean.
-
Id say a veggie heavy diet, but make sure you are getting your requirements as far as protein, etc. hit the cardio big time. If i did the math right, that's about .5 lb loss per week which should be do-able according to this website, but i just started and so take anything i say lightly.

how did you cook it? I cook mine with a olive oil and it turns out very good that way. Maybe you can sear it in some olive oil, oh and some garlic. I love eating vegetables but sometimes I dont feel like it. When that happens I mix my veggies with ground meat or rice to help me get them down. Hope some of this helps.
