  • Here is New Zealand we have a small selection, but my favourite is locally made Whittaker's. Delicious! I don't buy it often because it calls my name from the pantry!
  • For me it's feeling unconfident. In bed, being naked, wearing my bathing suit, being out clothes shopping - anywhere where my weight comes to the forefront.
  • Yes you can! 95% of it is in the mind, and telling yourself you can do this is a lot of the battle. I agree with a previous post suggesting tracking your current diet and seeing in black and white just how it is - I can tell you know it's a real eye opener! And 1 minute of walking could be 5 minutes in the pool or on an…
  • Since I was 7-8. Was always overweight, and then I started working at McDonald's when I was 21, and I ate and drank through 4 years and put on a lot of weight, then got a desk job so it's been a very slippery slope! I realised 4 years ago that it was an issue, and lost 25kg, but then fell into old habits and stopped…
  • We have a Chocolate Lab and a Black Lab, both are gorgeous and loyal, and very good with our kids. They're perfect for my pace of walking too. I really like Rottweiller's too. Haven't really taken a fancy to little dogs, unless they have a cool personality
  • Face for me. I lost the triple chin and then my eyes came out from my cheeks!
  • My mum is similar to yours. When I was growing up we were too similar and clashed all the time. Four years ago I tried to get fitter, and did a women's short triathlon. She told my sister I wouldn't be able to do it - so I used that comment as motivation to finish. This past year I've lst 27kg, and she has begrudgingly…
  • I'm having a chicken drum stick, 1/2 a cup of mashed potato and a lettuce salad, with carrot, tomato, cucumber and a small bit of cheese. Only 400 calories
  • I have it on my cereal, with a small amount of milk. Then I get he goodness, but its not too tart.
  • I rode my bike at 130kg Mel! I'm now 106kg and they still have a bit of movement, but not so much. Your bike will be fine!
  • 1) I worked at McDonalds for 6 years and I ate way too much of it - and drank way too many soft drinks. 2) I've never been active so that did not help AT ALL 3) I'm a fantastic baker and cook, and I love to eat my creations! 4) I didn't care about myself enough to want to be fit and healthy.
  • Also does anyone know if the weight section is in kilograms or pounds?
  • We have dinner early as we have young children, so I snack after dinner. But I limit myself to a cuppa and one thing sweet.
  • My friend had been on a health buzz since the beginning of January. I weighed myself at her house in the middle of February, (after half heartedly joining her in the healthy stuff), got a HUGE shock at the number, took a week to process the information and then said I can do this! So told my 2 closest friends that I wanted…
  • Yes I do, and I use the notes section to write a small thing about the day, mostly to help me understand the food choices, but also as a bit of a peptalk to myself!
  • I sometimes "save" my calories too. Like this week, I'm going to have a big day tomorrow, so I've saved between 200-400 calories most days. One day over is not going to stall your weight loss, and in fact in my experience it actually helps as it juggles things up a bit.
  • I've moved mine to the next finger up. I don't want to resize it until I'm done. I can remember that moment on my wedding day when it didn't fit and I had to force it :ohwell: Yay that you are losing weight in all sorts of places though! :flowerforyou:

  • Could you freeze the leftovers for other meals? Thats what I have to do otherwise they call to me too!
  • Thoughts? She's jealous!? Thats a seriously rude thing to say. I would ignore her and try not to let one hurtful persons comments ruin you or make you lose sleep.
  • Wow! Wat fantastic inspiration! Congratulations, your hard work has definately paid off :drinker: You have given me hope. I've lost 11cms of fat from my upper arms, with a long way to go. Fortunately its winter/spring here in New Zealand, so long sleeved tops are still acceptable, but it wont be long until its time to…
  • I have a Labrador and she keeps up with me. She will also walk for hours! I would say a Rotty would be stronger, and the doberman would be more nimble so faster
  • I do it in the mornings for the whole day and then can add in a few things as they crop up - like coffee with a friend. I find it helps me stay on track so much better!
  • I say eat them too. An apple and a banana would take over 1200. Or workout approximately how many calories you will burn before you do the exercise, and eat a light snack before you workout and then again when you finish.
  • The only real way to know is to note the numbers, and then go to the date 5 weeks away and type in your food diary notes the numbers. On that day weigh yourself and see. It has worked for me, more because it was a goal!
  • I find it interesting that many people compliment me and want to know my "secret", yet when I tell them its calorie controlled eating and exercise they shut down. Or that no-one wanted to tell me I was fat before, but now they want to talk about my weight loss! I guess I do talk about it too much, but I hope people will…
  • Chips and Dip - especially NZ's traditional dip made with reduced cream, an onion soup packet and a dash of malt vinegar!
  • How are your measurements going? Have you lost inches, but not weight?
  • The incredible shrinking woman! Well done, you are so inspiring!
  • Using cottage cheese on things that I wouldn't have thought of (cheesecake, on pizza etc) Running stairs - I would never have done that before! Exercise everday! I have very few days off, as its a real habit now. I did have 5 days off last week due to a chest infection, and am still struggling with breathing hard without…
  • Thank you adross, I will give that a go today (I'm in NZ, so have been asleep!)
