actualy im more of a racer, i have a cannondale synapse, but a good friend of mine started with a cypress and said it was an awesome hybrid. A great bike to lose weight and eventualy if you get bit by the road bike bug you might consider the cypress a gateway drug.

you could sign me up as well Im a 33 year old guy from Florida I hit 289 at my largest but through MFP and a Bicycle I am at 222 and still dropping. I still kind of keep track of the lbs but it seems to motivate me more to look at clothes sizes dropped. so far I have went from a Mens 3xl down to an XL

Hybrids generaly are going to function as mountainbikes but you sit in a more upright comfortable position. most true hybrids have 700 cc tires. larger than standard MTB but wider (which is good) than road bikes.…

try to find "compresion shorts". Under armor works well at wicking moistness away but compression shorts seem to be a little thicker and cause less heat friction. the generic Wal-mart brand works for me.
