120+ days logging (even when it's not so good) I eat real food and put it in so all are welcome to send friend requests. I have about 10 lbs to go and I'm really happy with MFP.

Please check back in when you can so we know you are ok?

I make batches of meatballs, cook them, then put them on a cookie sheet and freeze them. When frozen, I put them all in a ziploc and back in the freezer. Then I can take out what I need, when I need them.

Hi! I'm doing this a bit back wards: I replied to your other post first. Feel free to add me as a friend, if you like. I'm 58/female, so we're close in age.

Any time we give up something we love, it's hard to keep the "blues" from creeping in. I had the same feeling when I quit smoking. I loved my cigarettes, even though I knew they weren't good for me. And I love, love, love good food. The great thing about the MFP plan is you can have anything you want to eat, you just have…

I have a Fitbit One and I use MapMyWalk, both sync with MFP. I'm very happy with the way they all "talk" to each other. I've lost 10lbs since the first of August. However, you have to be consistent with logging your food accurately in order for the three of them to give you accurate information.

Fitbit and MFP "talk" to each other throughout the day. MFP gives you calories based on what Fitbit relays you've done throughout the day. If you sit on your butt for a couple of hours, those calories start to degrade. Try running in place for a minute or two, then resync. You should earn some of those calories back for…

I, too, like to do my exercising alone. I plug into my ipod, crawl inside my head, and walk for an hour. If I'm feeling generous, I invite one of the dogs along.

I killed the Red Fairy and buried her in the back yard. I hated the b&#@h. But yes, I was always hungrier when her visit was imminent.

When I'm in "trying to lose" mode: once a week. Once I hit maintenance, I'll go to every other day. Otherwise, I'll go crazy(er).

Yep, I'm in! Add me, too :) //www.fitbit.com/user/2VTKPX

Congratulations on your weight loss! The first week back will probably be weird, but after that the kids will be so wrapped up in their own "stuff" that you'll be able to just do your thing. Enjoy the compliments!

My youngster was a strange kid: he didn't like things most kids do, like mac & cheese, or bbq on anything, butter, salad dressing, gravy had to be "on the side". BUT he would eat anything green (what kid asks for brussel sprouts?), anything in the way of seafood or fish, beef or chicken and likes fruit. He did go through a…

I've found it helps to pre-log your food. Every night, I plan out for tomorrow, leaving a couple hundred cal for wiggle room/adjustment.

I had one doctor that I saw years ago. His staff were real scale ***ches. I finally said, "Look, I was just here 2 weeks ago. I weighed xxx. I'm not getting on these things every time I hit the door". The only scale that counts is the one in my bathroom that I step on once a week. Once my issue was resolved, I found…

Hi from the Northern Neck!
-
Hello...are you me? I just finished my popcorn (100 cal pack) and my fiber one choc. I pre-log these things. I don't always eat them, in which case I can take them off the diary.

I quit smoking on December 11, 2012 and started vaping (e-cigs) Took me about 6 weeks to transition over, but I did it. Because I still had the "ritual", I didn't gain any weight. The weight came when I went back to drinking wine. I LOVE wine. But for me, I can't have just a glass or two...I want the whole bottle (750ml).…

I already had one and used it to weigh out things from the garden to put in the freezer. Now, I use it several times a day for portion control. I can't imagine trying to do the MFP plan without one. So, to answer your question...yes.

^^what she said! I'm two weeks in and really like this place.

I just ordered one from eBay. I love technology. I have insomnia and restless leg syndrome. I'm interested to see how that shows up in FitBit.

I was in your position two weeks ago: knew I had gained but was afraid to face the scale. Did it anyway and found I was 10 pounds heavier than I thought I would be. Bummer. Promptly joined MFP. After stumbling around here for awhile, I seem to have found my stride and now I'm into it. Down 3.4 as of yesterday.

I just have to read the word "cheesecake"...so thanks a lot! :) :)

My mother said to me about a month ago, "you've put on some weight, haven't you?" I said, "Why, thank you Mother, for pointing it out. I hadn't noticed that."

Oreos are a real problem for me (and husband, too). While we love, love, love them, we cannot have them in the house :); absolutely NO control when it comes to those. So we just don't buy them. Out of sight, out of mind.

What works for me (so far) is to pre-log a treat into the diary for the next day. I do that with dinner, too. It stops the "what shall I have to eat" dilemma and gives me flexibility for breakfast and lunch.
