  • more calf than knee, but the side of the leg, not the back. meniscus.... shudder. would never wish that on anybody. the movements that make it sharp seemed so specific I was hoping someone could figure it out from those.
  • Someone once taught me to keep the dressing on the side and dip my fork in it before spearing the salad. You get the flaovr of the dressing in each bite, but end up using a lot less of it.
  • If your tdee is 2014 and bmr is 1534, I would suggest aiming for 1700. Also, is your BF% a typo? If you really are 15% body fat, then you don't need to lose weight - the weight is all muscle. You should be netting above your BMR.
  • I misunderstood by the title alone the other day. But I tend to log almost everything. If I forget about a second cup if coffee, those 19 cals from the creamer aren't going to undo everything. I usually tried to get within 50 of goal. But when I got my food scale, I realized that what I was estimating as a portion was…
  • I am asthmatic too. Didn't know that about the cilla. Crazy.
  • Thank you for responding and reaffirming that this is a serious illness. I tend to think that if I'm not in the hospital, I should be able to push through, so what's wrong with me right now, kwim? But it is crappy, and shopping wears me out for now. I hope it isn't 4 months for me, but at least of it is I can at least know…
  • Ideally, I would do HIIT once a week. It is hard on your body and can cause injury, so if your body says you are going too hard, listen to it. I say ideally because my workouts have been so out of whack the last two months for a variety of reasons (right now it's pneumonia). My ideal schedule would be like this: M: long…
  • Congrats! Wonderful results, both in the numbers and emotional/life nsvs.
  • I love nerdfitness. They have some good stuff on there. I have this dumbbell set, cast iron, they only had the 40# option when I bought: http://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Cast-Iron-Dumbbells-Market/dp/B008DITBEW/ref=sr_1_1?s=exercise-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1342807004&sr=1-1&keywords=dumbbells+lion
  • Agreed, stay at tdee. You will be doing a lot of cardio and heavy lifting just in the packing and move itself, so if you don't get to the gym, don't worry. We moved last summer and it was a ton of work. I was starving, and just listened to my body, because carrying furniture down two flights of stairs is exhausting. We are…
  • My breakfast is between 400-500, lunch and dinner around 600, and snacks around 600. I try to leave around 700 for dinner, which is enough for a higher Cal dinner, and if our dinner isn't that high, I have Edamame for an evening snack.
  • Congrats! I think wearing shorts is a fantastic nsv. You look darling!
  • The only food I have a problem with is sunflower seeds. I like to eat them while commuting, shoving a whole handful into my mouth an sucking all the salt off before starting to shell. I have to know that if I buy a bag, it will be gone within three days of commuting. It isn't the calories, but the salt that is so bad.…
  • Thank you for your responses. I wanted to throw dairy, quinoa and fruit into my suggestions for her. You guys have made me feel like that will probably be okay. Congrats on your progress so far. Feeling healthy definitely feels soooo good!
  • Thanks guys. Tl- you will be so glad you found this so early. I lost with this method having never been on a vlcd either. Good luck!
  • Trying to work up a meal plan for a friend. When you guys say good carbs, does that include dairy, whole grains, fruits?
  • Also, the point of a rest week is to allow your muscles some time to repair/rebuild, which they require fuel to do
  • How about a picture gallery of, "Mtyh: But if I lift, I'll look like a man!" and then showcase photos of people who we suspect lift based on their physiques. You can have all different shapes and sizes/levels of "bulk" to show that you don't necessarily have to look bulky with lifting (i.e. Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston,…
  • I agree as well. Life happens, which includes illness. Your body can adjust around short term disruptions. Marathon, not a sprint. I hope you feel better soon.
  • If there is a chat room type feature that can be turned on, you could have special guests on for q&a sessions on specific topics, ie a nutritionist, chat about pcos and emtwl or diabetes and emtwl, have a personal trainer on to cover workouts, bf%, a doctor to speak to health benefits, etc. Run it a specific night and…
  • No bulge, or bump when coughing, although firmly holding there while coughing meant the cough didn't hurt it. Lol.
  • I have been doing these exercises for about a half a year now, it isn't a new routine.....
  • Great results! Sometimes the scale takes on so much focus that health is just a secondary thought. So nice to see people first getting healthy, with weight loss being the secondary goal or side effect.
  • You look great! And the best part is that as you are trimming down, you aren't losing all your muscle. It is great to feel healthy and strong, not just "skinnier".
  • With similar equipment, I bought the Women's Health Big Book of Exercises and have been doing the hard body workout. It is great because it shows different variation depending on equipment and difficulty level, so even if there is one listed in that workout, I can find a way to modify or substitute.
  • Yup, I did it back in March, also $40. The place I went did not give rmr, because the pod bod only *measures* bf%. The rmr it gives is just what any online calculator will give you if you include bf% as an input. My bf% was 0.1% off from the fat2fit original calculator. I should do it again eventually and see which bf%…
  • Btw, part of why I stared upping cals was because I was lifting, and I needed more to feel good doing my workout. With lifting, I have some great muscles. At my annual check up 2 weeks ago, my doctor kept stressing that what I have done by working my muscle will be so beneficial when I am older because my bones will be…
  • I joined this group after 11 months of eating between bmr and tdee just because it felt right for my body. 1200 net seemed too low, and I wasn't in a hurry, because I didn't want it coming back. I've never tried to lose weight before, just got more miserable as I went up in weight the last 6 years. Eating between bmr and…
  • I don't think 1 week would mess you up. Life happens, i.e. illnesses, etc, so if you had already done the full reset, I would say go ahead and come back to the cut. But maybe someone else out there knows better, and I want to bump this for you for some other replies as well. BTW, the 6 lbs may also be some water retention…
  • Agreed. That is basically what I did, was overeating previously, and started MFP set at 1 lb/week, ate back all my exercise, and then upped my calories from there (this was prior to groups on here, so I didn't know the EM2WL philosophy, but it is what I did by instinct).
