  • I used one while I was pregnant at work, helped tremendously with a lot of the hip and lower back pain I was having. I don't know if I really feel it in my core though. I still use one at home occasionally. I guess it really depends on how you normally sit. If you have good posture to begin with, it won't be as helpful as…
  • Yup, last year! I have a basement that's basically a cellar in spots, so I can keep food down there. I was surprised myself they were still good. Spaghetti squash doesn't last as long though, I've learned :(
  • I blanch and freeze corn on the cob (I cut it off first though), can a plain tomato sauce, freeze peppers (no blanching needed) and can potatoes. I make a plain tomato sauce that I can make into a lot of different things later. I also can potatoes to make quick and easy fried potatoes. They mostly cook during the canning…
  • My little guy is 6 weeks today! And I've jus been cleared to exercise again, so excited. Had a vaginal delivery, but tore quite a bit. Doing great now though. We are exclusivetly breastfeeding and I hope to be able to continue once I go back to work. I want to get as healthy as I can before then because I doubt I'll have…
  • I know it's late to join the Nov. thread, but I thought I'd do so to keep the thread close for me. I'm almost 12 weeks and can finally be a little more discerning about what I eat. Before last week, I was just eating what didn't make me nauseous just thinking about it! I've already gained 12 pounds, and I'm hoping to keep…
  • I found this one on ebay.! This is the one I have and love and would recommend. http://cgi.ebay.com/DLO-Silicone-Case-w-Armband-iPod-Touch-DLA64013-17-/160454507091?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item255bd57a53#ht_822wt_792 and I found this on Amazon. Much cheaper :)…
  • I have one by DLO that I LOVE. I got it at Best Buy and I've been using it for about a year. It has a silicone case for the ipod that I keep on pretty much all the time and then a velcro arm band that you can slip in. The silicone case doesn't cover the screen at all, which means I can use the ipod while I'm running…
  • Bumping again. Last day to vote!!!
  • bumpity, bump, bump. Still at 18...I sent out an email at work today :)
  • I graduated with 3babybeans. Thanks to all for voting. My sister goes to school there & they're starting this year in a borrowed building with no lockers and very little room. This would be a big help as the insurance money isn't going to go very far. Thanks so much!!
  • Air conditioning always makes me cold. I think it's the humidity more than anything. I also hate heat in the winter time, I'm always hot inside in the winter. But I've always been this way, heavy or not. It does fluctuate a little at different times of the month though.
  • I'm in. Starting over for the second time. I never could quite finish it. I need to make it a priority, and stop whining about the heat! About the iphone app, does that work with the Nike+ too, or can they not run simultaneously? Thanks.
  • Don't know how worried you are about fat content, but a great low-carb treat I love is whipping cream whipped up with a little bit of sugar-free chocolate pudding. Delicious chocolate mousse. Also, you can mix cream cheese with splenda and a few other things, depending on your flavor preference, for a great cheesecake type…
  • Check out the book Healthy Bread in 5 Minutes a Day. You can get it at the library, or google it and find the "master" recipe on line. It's a quick and easy recipe that can be really healthy. If you want a more traditional wheat bread, one that you need to knead and punch down, I have one on my blog:…
  • I'm 5'4", very muscular build, and my happy weight would be 160. That'd probably put my in a 6-8. I haven't been there as an adult, even playing college sports, but it's only 22 lbs, so I'm sure I can do it!
  • I love to make my own, my recipe is basically the same as what's already been listed. Most commercial taco seasoning adds flour as a thickener. I keep mine low carb by not adding it in usually, but either way it's delicious!
  • Pilates is also a great choice. I would advise to be careful working your legs too much. Building muscle in your legs can make bigger muscles and keep bigger thighs. They'll be more toned...but not necessarily smaller. Not everyone's legs do this, but mine do. I can't bike because of it. (You probably already know if you…

  • I work in an office setting and know that sometimes it's not practical to expect to be able to do circuit training or take a shower during your lunch break (especially in only 10 minutes!) I walk for 30 minutes (at about a 16-17 min mile) and get in around 1.75 miles and 250 calories. I don't usually get too sweaty to go…
  • Running with my friends last night we went back to week 4 (I couldn't quite finish week 5 day 2 Wednesday) and even it was difficult. Soo hot and sooo humid. I thought I was going to pass out last night! Next week will be week 5 again...I can do it!
  • I am also not a fan of veggies. I have recently learned to stomach broccoli (but only with cheese or butter!) and asparagus. if asparagus is cooked properly, it's almost sweet. I love to grill it up with just a little olive oil, salt and pepper. I have also found that I can add some to soups and stews and not notice.…
  • When I used to work out in the morning at the gym, I would have to eat something before or I would feel sick. Usually something small, like an applesauce snack pack or 1/2 a banana or something like that. And then eat more when I was done. Now the only thing I do in the mornings is a pilates workout. I don't need to eat…
  • Asparagus is another great veggie for the grill. Toss them with a little olive oil, salt and pepper and either put them straight on the grill or in a foil packet - done in about 8 minutes. Same for cut up potatoes (these should be on for at least a half hour though). Corn comes out wonderfully by putting it straight on the…
  • yes...sorry :)
  • I was supposed to do week 5 day 2 last night, but both the temp and humidity were in the 90's yesterday and I just couldn't make it. I think I did more of a week 5 day 1...but not quite. Tonight I run with my friends and I think we're doing week 4 again. Hopefully it will feel cooler than last night! 560 does seem like…
  • At home and with the digital scale here at work I'm 188 but yesterday at the docs office I was 176. I feel your pain! I think the key is to just stick with the same scale and compare. They're all a little different.
  • Anything small and individually wrapped. I prefer to have mini york peppermint patties. I get my dark chocolate fix and the peppermint (supposedly) helps satiate my cravings even more. I believe they're about 50 cals each. Some days I need a few, others non at all. But I'm really glad they're here!
  • Do you get any workouts on tv? I subscribe to Veria and the have pilates and yogo. I DVR both shows and that way I get a variety of workouts. It's always pilates...but it's never the same thing twice in a row! DVDs bored me a lot, this is way better.

  • I thought about reprising week 4 myself...but decided to move ahead and try it. If I don't make it all the way through the week...I won't hate myself :)
  • Also wanted to let you know it is normal for them to sleep like 16-18 hours a day. It's what they do. And make sure your new friend isn't walking just on the bare wire floor of the cage, that can hurt them. Line it with newspaper and lots of old towels, etc. Looks like a gorgeous one. Have fun! They love to play but will…
