  • I actually mean Miracle Noodles which I think is a bit different than shirataki noodles? Not sure but I think shirataki is a blend with tofu but the miracle noodles don't have the tofu with them. They are zero carbs and zero calories. I got mine on amazon.com.
  • I just bought some of these a few weeks ago and love them too! I like to dry fry them and then add ponzu and balsamic vinegar to them. They soak up the flavor really nice. I throw some chicken, mushrooms and tomatoes in a pan together and cook that up and pour over the noodles. Love having this for lunch!
  • I felt like this the first week I cut out refined carbs.Dizzy and weird and not altogether there. But I also wasn't eating enough calories either. I knew I needed more calories but it was hard to fit them in when I was eating lower calorie foods like veggies and fruit. I needed to cut the refined carbs cold turkey though…
  • I haven't lost much this time and no one has really commented yet although I do see a difference. I have been very careful not to talk about how much I've lost to anyone. I think it is to avoid the things that some people say to try to sabotage the weight loss.
  • I eat fries just not as much and not as often. I also love kale chips for their crunch. If you like broccoli you should like the taste of kale chips. Take a bunch of kale, tear them off the stems into small pieces. Spray a cooking sheet with oil spray and spread the kale out. Spray the kale with oil spray lightly. Salt…
  • About 8.5 pounds since january 1st.
  • I have a fitbit one that I just purchased this week to see what my calorie burn is in a typical day of housework and it seems to be pretty accurate compared to an online calculator. I like it. It is easy to use and you can connect it to your MFP account.
  • You're doing a great job so far! Stick with it and you will see results. Have you done your measurements?
  • There is a bread by nickles that is 35 calories a slice as opposed to 70 calories a slice for regular bread. They make white and whole grain versions of it. You can have bread if you want but you'll still need to count it of course. I personally limit bread and carbs though just because I feel it leads me to crave things.
  • Try closing your eyes and meditating and just feel how your body feels to you. Visualize the way you look now in your mind as you are "feeling" your smaller body. Don't replace it with the way you looked before. Keep the vision of yourself, how you look now, in your mind. Do this for a bit each day. I haven't lost too much…
  • Get a digital scale but in the meantime with meats they have how many pounds is in the package on the label. If the pork is cut up into 6 pieces just divide the number of pounds by 6. It is a rough estimate because I know not everyone of them will be cut exactly the same but it will help you out until then.
  • So would it be better just to not drink water during a meal? I mean a regular meal that wasn't pureed?
  • What are your calorie goals for a typical day?
  • I think if you look at it not from a weight loss viewpoint but from a nutrition viewpoint and include fruits, veggies and proteins with limited processed carbs for your children then why not? I think paleo restricts certain fruits and starchy potatoes but I feel that may be geared towards people that want to lose weight.…
  • I don't really like to get into the drama and it's fine for you to eat however you like but I was just going through your diary and didn't see any one month where you logged 2100 calories. So how do you know you were consuming 2100 calories for a month like dan calculated for you if you aren't logging exactly what you eat?…

  • pork rinds. Not so healthy but no carbs and could satisfy a desire for a crunchy snack.
  • I count calories and have my carb goals set low. . If I go over my carbs but not my calories i don't sweat it too much. I just find that when I eat more carbs I am more hungry so I try to fill my calories with proteins and veggies. That's just me though.
  • yes I do this and count calories too. It has worked so far but I am only 21 days into this. Really it is find what works for you and if it is working and you feel you can stick to it then it is right. I also follow the eat more 2 weigh less group which is a low carb group but it helps you to figure out you BMR and TDEE to…
  • I don't like to exercise either especially cardio. I want to start 5x5 stronglifts as it is only a 30minute lifting session every other day I think but I won't go to the gym(too expensive) and I need to get some equipment to start that I haven't had the time to look into getting yet. I haven't exercised for a while now…
  • then change goals and choose custom.
  • Lots of people have done them and have been successful. I started out reading a lot about paleo/primal/ low carb and such and found that a lot of their research makes sense in the way that refined carbs (high sugar, white bread, pastas) are what is causing the heart disease that everyone is blaming high fat diets on. That…
  • A tablespoon of heavy cream with some honey and coconut palm sugar. Switched to heavy cream instead of the half and half as I find it is more satisfying to me. Yum!
  • Yes. Fat does not make you fat. Your body needs it for all sorts of bodily functions. I go over my fat allowance sometimes, especially my saturated fats, but I usually never go over my calorie allowance. I have my macros set to 25% carb 30% protein and 45% fat. I do have that set high at the moment as I find higher fat…
  • Great! Thanks for the link. I will save it and pass it on when needed.
  • If you feel like you want to give up maybe you are not eating enough. Check out these groups for more information: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/3817-eat-more-to-weigh-less http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/8017-in-place-of-a-road-map And don't give up! Just try to find what is going to work for you and…
  • I can't wait to wake up skinny! Great job and thanks for the post. It was encouraging. You look wonderful!
  • What are your calorie goals for a typical day?
  • Re-check your BMR, TDEE and such. I have heard that if you eat at your TDEE for a week or two and then eat at a deficit again it might get you out of a plateau. But really it just seems since you started lifted you are gaining muscle. You really need to double check your BMR and TDEE and adjust for all the exercise you are…
