not really exercise related but motivational non-the-less "I had a boyfriend who told me I'd never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I'd fail. I said to him, 'Someday when we're not together, you won't be able to order a cup of coffee at the f***ing deli without hearing or…

oh i suppose i should add that i'll be a senior (eeeepppp!!!) neuroscience major/nutrition minor in ohio.

your food choices look pretty good! I see a lot of fresh produce which is immensely important. as you said yourself though, you absolutely need to make sure you're hitting at least 1200 calories a day. if you have a hard time upping calories throughout the day, try planning your menu the night before. this way your can…

your diary isn't open for anyone to see. you need to change the settings so people can see it. to increase calories, try adding cheese, peanut butter, nuts, avocados, etc to your diet

^This but i'm sorry to say that you didn't gain two pounds of muscle in a week. A lot of the 3.5lbs the first week was probably water weight. it's not like your body reformed 2 pounds of fat again this past week. I'd guess that your body is working out its water balance. just watch your sodium, keep drinking water, and…

technically, you don't need to exercise to lose weight. and you seem to be losing weight fine without it. exercise is more important for overall health than anything. if you can incorporate exercise eventually into your lifestyle, it will be better for your health.

right there with you! sweet potato fries put me in m happy place.

i would say its a lot harder to lose two pounds of weight since you have so little to lose. the less you have to lose, the closer you should be to maintenance calories intake.
-
completely unrelated but i just wanted to let you know that your profile pic is UNBELIEVABLE. you look amazing!!!
-
I've always had a low pulse and low BP. i had a luna bar before the workout and a gatorade after and i felt fine! thanks for your help
-
agreed. you want to eat 500 calories less than your maintenance to lose weight (500 is a pound a week), not your BMR.
-
yes you can gain muscle but its going to be very little on a calorie deficit, especially in a month. women don't have enough of the steroid hormones to build anything significant is a short period of time. a common "mis-wording" is that muscle turns into fat. while i'm sure most people understand the actual thought behind…

yep it's mostly water retention just don't let the munchies get you

I think eating 1600 calories would definitely be a good place to start to try and break the plateau. increasing exercise intensity is also important. you mentioned some good things with p90x and weightlifting. a plateau is your body's way of saying it's now comfortable. you need to make it uncomfortable again.

hard boiled eggs protein/granola bars laughing cow wedge with crackers apples and peanut butter string cheese and a piece of fruit

the same thing happens to me so now the only way i eat apples is if i'm eating it with some kind of protein (apple + peanut butter, apple and a handful of nuts, etc.) it's because apples are almost completely made up of simple carbs so your body will digest it very quickly.

the very first thing that comes to mind is are you eating your exercise calories? some people can lose without but i am not one of them. you might not be either. try netting 1200 a week at least and see where that puts you. also, most of the first 6 pounds was probably water weight. its very unlikely that you burned 6…

the concept eating exercise calories is all based on the numbers game: Lets say i need to eat 2000 calories to maintain my weight. A pound is 3500 calories so if i want to lose a pound a week, i need to have a 500 calories deficit (500x7=3500). so then, the number given to me to eat is 1500. Now, if i exercise and burn 300…
