I take the long way EVERYWHERE. It's sometimes hard, because I, too, work at a desk all day long. But I've made it a priority.

To never hold back from doing something simply because I feel "uncomfortable" about my size, weight, etc...

Starting Strength is great at explaining the basic lifts. StrongLifts is a really good, easy-to-follow beginner program. New Rules of Lifting is very good, and maybe a little more than a beginner program.

You looked good before; now you're killing it in the swimsuit. Congratulations and thanks for sharing! Love to see success stories like this!!

Congratulations!! You are doing amazing, and thank you for sharing. Echoing others on here, I love your attitude. That, above all, is going to keep you going. Please check in again when you hit your next goals. Love to see success stories like these!!!

It's OK to leave your step counter on, if you remember NOT to "add" those calories back in. Just ignore what MFP says about "You've earned an additional XXX calories from exercise." Also echoing what LovPosh said about the HRM. It's a good investment for the long haul. And, when used properly, can track not only calories…

Ditto on the Polar brand. I'm going on two years with mine, and I love it.

When I first started on MFP, I was overwhelmed with the idea of calorie counting, and I did poorly at it. When I got serious about making a change, I tried a new approach. I began by counting my breakfast, only. I still logged the rest of my food, but didn't worry about being spot on. Once I got that hang of that - planned…

Hi Traci! I'm 48. I've been on MFP for three years. Lost 40 pounds and then put 20 back on. :-( I'm back on track and I "think" I have it figured out this time. I'm on here daily and I do my best to be supportive and positive. Feel free to add me, if you like.

They are both "good for you." Cardio has benefits outside of weight loss - regulating blood pressure, cardiovascular health, pulmonary health. Weight training has benefits outside of weight loss - better balance as you age, bone strength for women. You can lose weight without doing either - just eat at a deficit. But,…

I hear ya'. I lost 40 pounds in 9 months and put 20 back on the following 6 months. Please don't beat yourself up. I really think it takes more than one "go" at it to make it stick. You've figured out some things that work and some things that don't. Don't give up on yourself. Take the things you know worked and work on…

You look amazing! As other posters have said, it looks like you lost more than that. Keep up the great work and post again - love to see these success stories!!

Congratulations, Brandon! Thank you for sharing your story. I know it will help others. Keep up the hard work, and post again as you start transforming those muscles!

Fantastic! Sometimes an experience like that is SO much more satisfying than a number on a scale. Keep up the hard work!

Fantastic!

Congratulations on both the loss AND the PR! I'm jealous of how easy you make it look.

If someone made me a lunch like that I'd be smiling every day! That looks beautiful AND delicious. I make my lunches for the week on Sundays. I portion them out - weigh and measure - but I don't have any cute containers like that.

Fantastic! I can really tell a difference. Congratulations on hitting one-derland!!

Fantastic! You look wonderful!!

^ Love. This. I miss one or two days, not due to the cramps or bloating, just the incredibly heavy flow. It's tiresome, but it's been that way since I was 11, so I deal with it.

I've tried the morning workout, too, and it just doesn't work for me. It seems to work best for me to work out as soon as I get home, then have dinner and go on about my evening. I am also doing 30-minute workouts, which helps because I'm done quickly, and it doesn't make dinner any later.

Way to go! I can really see the change. Keep up the hard work and thank you for sharing and motivating the rest of us.

First, are you talking to / working with someone to help you with your depression: counselor, therapist, doctor, pastor? If not, please do. Depression is not something to take lightly. I wish there was a magic formula to avoid binge eating, but there isn't. For some people, a distraction works, i.e. taking a walk when you…

Hi Kristen. You can do this! It might help to break things down into smaller, more manageable steps. For example, start logging your food - all of it, every bite, every sauce, every sip. And get a good idea of how many calories you are currently consuming. From there, you can see how much you need to cut and how much of an…

Been doing it for more than a year. Really enjoy it. It really is just 25 minutes. I've had good results along with tracking my calories - lost more than 40 pounds. You do want to be careful if you have any knee issues, but it's actually quite easy to modify the moves - even without the modifier. I've tried several other…

Great job! Nothing "mini" about that loss. Keep up the hard work and keep sharing your success!!

Great job!

I've been working in law enforcement for 20 years. They happen ALL THE TIME. People want so badly to get that quick fix, the fast money, that fairy-tale ending. And for every person who wants that, there are 100 of them ready to take advantage.

Just peeked at your profile...GO YOU!!!! You look amazing! Congratulations on reaching goal, and thank you for sharing this and inspiring the rest of us. :flowerforyou:
