  • My pilates instructor went vegan with her dad so he could lose weight. To be supportive. She lives at home. She lost weight and didn’t need too. He dad lost weight also.
  • Had mine out about 8 years ago. Fatty foods make my side hurt pretty bad. Recently per a doctor I’m taking Ox Bile with every meal. It’s a capsuleq and I’m feeling relief. No side pinch. No rushing to restroom an hour later. I’m also taking probiotics.
  • I started exercising when I was 51. I didn’t want to ever diet again. I hired a trainer to teach me how to exercise. I was 100 lbs when I started. Knowing what I know now it wasn’t any harder to do it then as now. I’m not a naturally active person. It’s all mind set with me. The trainer taught me how to train and how to…
  • I’ve been exercising for years and I don’t get hungrier anymore. I always have a planned snack or just lunch after because I know my body needs it. You can eat something that won’t be more than 500 cals. Big salad with grill chicken for example. Plan a snack or a meal just knowing you need it. It hopefully will get easier…
  • I had to restart after 2 different surgeries. I was amazed how quickly my body atrophies. In fact a one week vacay and my quads will burn the next week. So go at your own pace and just know you’ll build back up. You’re strong and you’ll get back.
  • I started OT a month ago, but I’ve been working out for 6 years. I agree it’s the right structure for what I need now. I call it “Bodyfit” lite. That was the class I took at the gym 3 1/2 years and nearly got me shoulder surgery. I seldom eat the calories I burn during exercise. Occasionally, I’m just hungry. I’ll eat…
  • I’m on year 6 of weight maintenance. This was the first year I gained enough weight to want bigger pants. I had to take a year off from the gym to rehab my shoulders. It worked they feel great. BUT I put on 20 pounds. So I bought bigger pants. I knew I’d eventually lose it. In fact I’m halfway there. I started orange…
  • I do still have those days. On Friday’s I feel noticeably sore or tired from a week of working out. Saturday and Sunday rest and Monday I’m raring to go.
  • Definitely ask when you go in. I find them so cooperative.
  • Joined last week and I’m really enjoying it.
  • So far love the polar loop. Upgraded to the loop 2. The only thing that bugs me and I can't figure out how to change is it posts my exercise as "running" when I've done Pilates. Then my friends think I'm running and get excited. No I'm not running!
  • I get it. I eat healthy. The hubs does not. I opened the chest freezer to get some froze veggies a couple nights ago and there lied a large frozen pepperoni pizza. REALLY?! I had to move the pizza to get to my veggies. It added insult to my injuries.
  • I've done the Whole30 twice. Love how I feel when I'm strictly doing it. Working out what works for me everyday. I'm whole30 ish. I'm working my way through legumes. I just can't believe that there isn't a one I can't eat. So far big no to pinto beans and lentils.
  • I did a LOT of healthy changes long before I did my Whole30. I think it would have been too restrictive in the beginning of my "health kick" as everyone likes to call it. Just hit my 4 year no soda anniversary. Getting off of artificial sweeteners helped a lot with sugar cravings. Getting off of sugar amazingly killed my…
  • There's plenty of carbs with the whole30, but not simple carbs. I work out very hard. Not a problem.
  • I like to add olive oil to my ghee. Good flavor and a good consistency.
  • I'm on day 26. I found this last week harder than the first, but I'm holding strong. I'm curious what food(s) were causing my digestion issues.
  • Yes first I'd see a doc about your depression. See if there is something to help. For me I started exercising nearly 4 years ago. It took about 1 year before other than physically to see changes. I lost 86 pounds. I got stronger, BUT I felt a tad more cheerful too. I walk to the gym. So was it the extra sunshine, the…
  • Get an eat-clean magazine follow the 2 week menu. Get a heart rate monitor and make sure you are walking in zone 2 for AT LEAST 45 minutes. If nothing shakes loose then consult your doctor and make sure all your numbers are where they should be. Take your journal of food and exercise for the doc to see. They'll have tips…
  • My opinion... you paid for a program. Do what they've said for a week. Chart your food and weigh yourself at the end of week. If you've lost weight and that's not your goal inform the program that's not your goal. Their job will be to make it work. I exercise a lot and weight train. I'm 5'4". I eat 1200 a day. I do want to…
  • I do resort to pickled items. Love my pickled okra, but the salt gets me in the end. So, I snack in extreme moderation on pickled anything.
  • Yep air popped pop corn. I recently got one after giving mine away 25 years ago as I didn't like it. Thought it tasted like styrofoam. Felt like eating sucked the moisture out of me. I had some Christmas money and thought what the heck. I'll return it if it's still yucky. It wasn't. Do I eat so healthily now that I enjoy…
  • I quit cold turkey. My intention was to start back up in 30 days, but at the 3 week mark I felt markedly better. I never went back. NOW it wasn't easy. I had about 8 months of withdrawals. When I say withdrawals it wasn't physical it was totally mental. My life revolved around my soda drinking. Pick up the kids drink a…
  • I've found over the last 3 years of really watching my diet and exercising that if I have a banana or coconut water every day the leg cramps are gone for me. Every now and then I'll get one and I'll think have I had a banana or coconut water. I've found it is on day 3 of not having either I'll get a leg cramp. Next day…
  • My best friend had her stomach stapled 10 years ago. She couldn't lose weight to save her life nor could she get pregnant. The doc told her to lose 100 pounds and there would be more he could do for her. She went out the next week and back then it was stomach stapling. She now has an 8 yr old daughter. She doesn't regret…
  • I hate figs. The flavor and all those seeds. My folks grow their own and I don't know why.
  • I make my own salad dressing. I never could have lost 80 pounds if my motto wasn't "Throw it on a bed of lettuce."
  • What are you doing? I'm an exerciser and a clean eater. If that interests you add me.
  • I don't find it expensive to eat healthy. I don't buy junk and that money goes into buying healthy food. Get in season. Get on sale. Pick and choose what you want super healthy and what you're not too worried about. Check out Tosca Reno for free menus and ideas. That's how I got started. Eventually, I bought her book. It's…
