I just ran an entire half marathon. I did not walk one single step. Other than the fact that I feel half dead, I am so so proud of myself!

People in my running club say chocolate milk is a great post run drink (for those running over 45 minutes). Something about carbs to protein ratio. Can anyone confirm?

Since October I have run a race each month. So far they have all been 5k's. I have a 5k already paid for in both February and March,in April I have both a 10k and a half marathon scheduled. My goal is to run a race each month at least through October 2012. Here's hoping I can pull it off!

Ideas on execises to change up routine
I run three days a week (2-4 miles) at an 11 min mile pace). I also meet twice a week with a personal trainer. One day he works on speed session and core work, the other he focuses on arms. I am getting bored with running. I have started doing the stationary bike but it doesn't push me like running does. I also tried a…

I don't get it?
There have been people on these boards that I "friend requested" because they seemed to have great success and their stories inspired me. I will admit to not commenting very frequently, mostly because its hard enough to track my food with the time constraints I have. Today I discovered one "unfriended" me. For no reason...…

ABSolutely need your advice
Okay: I am shaped like Barney (yes the purple dinosaur). My legs are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G (minus a little inner thigh jiggle). But random people have stopped me in places like Walmart and asked me what I do to get such definition on my legs. My arms? Well, I meet with a trainer twice a week and since starting that in Feb they are…

This Week I Have Hit A Wall
*I cried trying clothes on in the dressing room. *My running has been pathetic. This morning I ran at a 5.3 pace for 24 minutes and just couldn't continue. *I am disgusted with myself for being this out of shape. Anybody else ever have a week where frustration seems to get the best of you?

Question
You know how at the bottom after completing your food log at the end of the day it tells you how much you will weigh in 5 weeks. How accurate has that been for most of you? I'm just curious.

Five Pounds Away From Half-way Mark

not adding up...
I lost 2.4 pounds this week. According to MFP guidelines I was at/ slightly under calorie goals every day. I programmed to lose 1 pound per week. So either my calories burned while exercising is off (and I am actually burning more than what the computer says) or my basal metabolic rate is actually higher than what MFP…

Summer Run Blahs...
Running in the heat is just no fun. I am not an early morning person- so running early in the day just isn't going to happen. I usually run at 6 p.m. but it is still hot. I would wait til later- like 8 p.m. but the thought of running alone and night makes me nervous. I've begun running with just a sports bra and that has…

Runner's High
For only the second time in my life, last night I experienced runner's high. I was moving fast (for me). I was beating both the hills and the heat. Sweat was pouring off my body. And I was on cloud nine. I sure wish every run could be like that.

A very small success...
I know when we think of success we think of the big picture. But this morning I was met with an itty bitty form of success. And I choose to celebrate it. According to the BMI calculators, I have now moved from the obese category to the overweight category. Overweight is still bad, don't get me wrong. But I am moving in the…

Running Woes
The bane of runners everywhere: chaffing. I've tried body glide. It works for a while but I guess I sweat it off or something because my poor thighs look like a war zone. 10k
So I am trying to keep myself accountable in my running and have decided every month to sign up for a race. So far (I started in March) I have run 2- 5k's and one 10k.
