NSV!
So for the past 2 weeks I've really been focusing a lot of strength training and circuit training. I signed up to do the Mamavation 2 week challenge in which Bob Harper was participating. What it means is that I utilized bobharper.com and did all of his workouts. They are no more than 20-25 minutes and are jam packed with…

activity level question...any teachers out there?
Last week I was eating at TDEE to keep my metabolism going. And I lost weight. Not a whole pound, but still, .8. I put my activity level at 1-3 hours of light exercise since I can't run due to an injury. I didn't go over 3 hours of light exercise of walking and pilates or yoga. In fact, I think I only got to about 2 hours…

4 months in and it's all clicking!
I'm about 4 months into EM2WL and I feel like all the stars are aligning and I'm seeing how holding steady with this program is paying off even more. I just hit a huge milestone for me, which is 10 pounds lost, which is an average of about 2.5 pounds a month. And you know what, it took me 4 months to get there, but I'm so…

Injured....need advice
I've been running, taping my foot as I've been nursing plantar fasciitis. It was getting better, then sharp pains at the end of Wednesday's run and I've been limping ever since. I could use some advice on cardio that does't involve mt feet :( . I can still do upper body and core strength but I'm just so bummed I can't get…

The Scale Lies!
I just started a blog to chat about my experiences of c25k and EM2WL. I wrote a post today all about how the scale lies and how I'm not a slave to it anymore. I thought some of you, especially if you are new to EM2WL, might be interested in reading some facts about why I've stopped obsessing over what the scale says.…

My c25k Journey
I recently started a blog about all this running and health and fitness. And I recently wrote a post about my c25k journey, with stats and numbers to see where I started and how far I came in the 7 weeks I trained using c25k. I thought some of you who are new to this might be interested in checking it out.…

HIIT workouts
So I want to start doing some HIIT workouts and today is a great day for me to start since my husband is working late and I won't be able to go for a run...I've got a 2 year old  . I'm wondering if anyone has some websites/youtube videos you could recommend to do some at home HIIT workouts. Thanks.

NSV!!!
My no scale victory this week....well it's not stepping on the scale at all, especially since I've been doing a maintenance week to jump start my metabolism! I'm back to a cut tomorrow and will not step on the scale for another week. I'm so much happier when I focus on other aspects of this lifestyle. And another…

I know the scale lies, but stil....frustrated!
So this is the deal. I 100% know and get that 3500 calories equals a pound and I know that I'm not eating that. I totally get that. But for two weeks I've gone up on the scale and back down to where I've started. For two weeks I have not lost anything on a cut. Now I know I haven't gained as well b/c my clothes aren't…

Any runners out there get plantar fasciitis?
So I've just realized that I have plantar fasciitis on my foot, which is super common for runners. But it's a pain, figuratively and literally, b/c I need to be resting and icing and stretching and all that jazz. Some sites say no running/walking while others like the Mayo Clinic say to limit the distance of longer runs.…

When should I go back to TDEE for maintance?
I'm on week 6 of a cut after a reset. The first two weeks I did a 15% cut, and this is my second week at a 20% cut. The first month I saw a loss of weight and inches, but now I'm stalling. I'm wondering at what point do you seasoned EM2WL people go back to TDEE and for how long? I'm thinking it might be time. Also, I'm…

EM2WL WORKS!!! (plus NSV's)
I see a lot of posts on here of people struggling. In fact, I have been know to write one of these posts too  But I just wanted to share my experiences for all of the newbies to say how much this system works! I'm on week 4 of a 15% cut after doing a reset. The first week and a half I saw my scale all over the place…

HRM recommendations
So about a month or so ago I got a New Balance HRM from Target. It works great...most of the time. Twice now, though, it's acted up and I suspect it's the belt strap getting loose while I run since I do check it to make sure it's tight before I begin. A couple weeks ago I did a 5k and it said I burned 445 calories.…

running
My legs, well they feel like lead while I'm doing my c25k. I'm about to start week 7, and though I'm running way more than I ever thought I'd be able to do, I'm slowing down a bunch. Is there ever a point where my legs won't feel so heavy? I'm thinking once the weight really starts coming off it will happen. Please tell me…

A week on a cut...
I just finished my first week on a cut. I had some dissapointments as I saw the scale go up half a pound, but today, it's back down to where I started. I'm sure it's because I've upped my strength training to go along with the cut and my muscles have been sore. It's been hard mentally to accept this fact about weight…

Ugh. Feeling discouraged
I'm at the end of my first cut week and I've gained! I've gone up half a pound! I'm on a 15% cut, and have set myself to 3-5 hour and got those 5 hours in, always making sure to net my BMR on heavy workout days. I have been eating very well, and getting extremely close, if not spot on with my protein. I'm drinking way more…

how long after a cut...
How long after you started a cut did you start to lose? I know everyone is different, but I'm just curious as I'm almost a week into my first cut AND upping my exercise and strength training.

Nervous about starting a cut: It's all in my head
I'm starting my first cut today. I reset for 3 weeks. (I decided on this time because at no point did I ever hit a plateau before I began EM2WL...I just found all of you and read and read and love this philosophy.) But I have to say I'm nervous. Eating at TDEE was 2125 for me with 1-3 hours of activity factored in. I'm…

Are burpees considered circuit training?
Would you count burpees as strength training or circuit training when entering it into MFP for exercise? I'm thinking circuit. I'm 100% doing EM2WL but this is my first cut week and I'm trying to figure out how many calories I'm burning to make sure I've set myself to the right amount of activity level. (I also posted this…

Strength training calories question
I'm starting a cut tomorrow. I will be incorporating more stand alone strength training in addition to c25k and my Jillian michaels circuit training DVDs. I noticed that adding in strength exercises into MFP that no calories burned are calculated. Am I fine to just rely in total time each week instead of worrying about…

Starting a cut in a week...and appreciation for all of you!
So...I've done 2 weeks of a reset and am going to do one more and then start a cut. I know I know many of you are shaking your heads saying I should do a full 8 weeks, however, never was I at a plateau before I joined all of you, and I just feel it's time for me. I'm no longer having to force all my TDEE calories down. I'm…

Losing on a reset?!?!
A few days ago I noticed a little bit of a loss....and it's still a loss today. I've lost 0.6lbs and I'm almost two weeks into a reset. I exercised 2.5 hours last week so I have the right setting on the scooby site. I'm wondering if I should up my calories or if a small loss like this is OK to do on a reset. I'm mixing…

Is this possible? {reset related}
I'm wondering if anyone has lost during the reset? I checked my exercise last week and was at 2.5 hours, fitting into what I put for scooby. I'm just down a little bit today....not complaining, but my body just feels different, in a good way which is why I decided to jump on the scale (I used to do jump on the scale every…

I'm calling it a success!
I just finished my first week of reset. Halfway through I was miserable...feeling bloated and overwhelmed with how much food I had to eat, all the while making it fit into my macros percentages. Welp, today I'm feeling good, and no longer burdened. I did get on the scale this morning, and I haven't gained, despite the…

feeling blah...
I'm on day 4 of the reset and I'm feeling gross. I know it will pass, but just needed to vent. My brain struggles with the end of the day and having to get more foods in...all the while trying to get to the macros percentages...which HELLO...I fail at everyday, though I'm spending more time reading labels than I ever have.…

Video Recomendations
I'm a busy working teacher momma and I'm looking for some shorter videos to do at home. Gym is not an option for me to do group classes. I've been doing 30 day shred and I dig that it has both cardio and strength training, so I'm looking for that, but I'm getting tired of it. I need variety. Also, OnDemand fitness shows…

super thirsty
I'm on day 3 of my reset, eating at TDEE...getting better at getting closer to my macros (still struggle with too many carbs and not enough protein), but I've noticed I've been ravenously thirsty. Not that it's a bad thing that I'm drinking over my 8 cups of water a day (yesterday was like 12), but just wonder if this is…

Reset/TDEE/exercise question
So I set my daily calorie goal to my TDEE. I just logged exercise. Do I pay attention to the "food" column to make sure I've eaten my TDEE and not my net column....leaving me with calories left over for the day according to MFP? This is my second day on reset and first day where I worked out. I just want to double check :)

How long to reset (repost)
I posted this late last night...and I'm on the west coast...so I'm reposting now to see if any of you have thoughts for me ................................... I keep reading all sorts of ideas around how long to reset. The thing is that I wasn't at a plateau when I decided to stop and do this reset. I just realized that…
