not for official comp but...
I did a random eating challenge on the weekend. I was half way through push bike pub crawl and had only eaten lunch about 90mins before hand. Also had plenty of beers in me by that stage. If you finish it within 20mins you get a shirt and your name on a plaque on the wall. Smashed the previous record of 16m45s with 11m59s.…

deadlifting geeks get in here
http://breakingmuscle.com/strength-conditioning/newtons-3rd-law-and-how-to-leverage-massive-deadlifts Deadlift geeks need to read this. Great article. I personally have a slightly forward angle on tibia as it allows me to lower my hips a tiny bit further while still keeping neutral lumbar spine. This allows me to get a lot…

"powerbuilding"
Very technical article on powerlifting vs bodybuilding training and why PLers should be doing more "powerbuilding" http://www.strengtheory.com/powerlifters-should-train-more-like-bodybuilders/ It's the reason why I don't think powerlifting and BB need to be mutually exclusive. I'm focussing on powerlifting now but at the…

Chris experimenting with CBL & Cube
So my actual cut will technically start tomorrow but I thought I should include this post. BTW I was dexa'd at 85kg at 10.9% 3 weeks ago and will get another one at the end of the cut. Not exactly sure when that will be (probably longer than 8 weeks I'd say) Friday, weighed in at 79.95kg and comfortably under the 82.5kg…

What are your top 3 love/hate exercises?
Love/hate as in love the affects that you get from them but hate to do them. Here are mine in no particular order 1. Bulgarian split squats with pauses. (I do this is an decending rep order 6,5,4,3,2,1. After 6 reps, hover just above the ground with rear knee for 6 seconds, 5 reps, 5 second pause etc) 2. pause at knee…

Another one not for official comp
So just put my name down for another eating comp. Details here http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/big-slice-of-the-action/2335626/ The thing looks pretty damn big! 24" pizza which has not been eaten by a single person yet. If you do it in under an hour you get a free 24" pizza every month for a year. I'm more of a…

How long did it take you to reach 2.5xbw squat and 3x DL
Started barbell training Dec 2009. Reached the above in June 2013 so 3.5 years. Raw with wraps for squat for me. Sumo deadlift so I guess that is cheating Squat 200kg@80kg and deadlift 240kg@80kg. Both at GPC nats 2013. For women, comparable would be around 75% so 1.9x bw squat and 2.25x bw DL.

NYE Squat/pullup challenge 2015
Getting in early to see if there is interesting. The challenge is to complete 2015 pullups or Squats (with your own body weight on your back) on New Years Eve. So you could do 2015 pullups if you wanted or you could do 1000 pullups and 1015 squats etc. etc. If you weigh 100kg then you put 100kg on your back to squat. This…

low carb and exercise
http://www.anitabean.co.uk/2014/10/low-carb-diets-arent-helpful/ I agree with this. In my own experiences, low carb = crappy workout. I still get it done but it is more about just trying to maintain rather than improve.

Which NRL team do you support?
I've been bought up as a Broncos fan so I always stick with them in the QLD darby's but I'll always back the Titans or the Cowboys over a Southern team! Went to Lockyer's last home game at Suncorp last year which was bloody awesome! Who do you support?

stress fracture clavicle
Notes from physio: Turns out that stress fractures of the clavicle are fairly rare but when they happen it is typically with lifters. Been instructed to fully rest it (nothing over head, arm across body or shoulder sagging specifically). Most stress fractures are in the foot and take 6weeks to 3months to heal. But as mine…
