Recovering anorexic
Hi all, so I've been recovering from anorexia for about a year now and I'm looking to maintain my weight. I'm about 115 pounds and 5'3 tall, I think I'm at a safe weight. So how can I maintain my weight safely? without restricting or cutting back on calories? I think I eat about 2800 to 3000 calories on average. Any tips…

Suppressed maintenance?
Someone told me that I may be having suppressed maintenance calorie level right now and saying that I can actually eat more without gaining any weight. I've been eating 1640calories for a few months and these few days gained a kg and most of the people say that it's water retention (I'm having sore muscle) so I think it's…

Fairly good at weight loss - a bit rubbish at maintenance!
Thought I should post here as I'm now officially a fully paid-up member of the Maintaining Weight group! I found losing the pounds (or kilos in my case) pretty straight-forward as my motivation for doing so has been a health-related and clear-cut one. The reduction to the loading through my injured knee at the new weight…

setting my app to maintain weight
Hello all. After several months at 1200 calories per day, I am down to my goal weight of 57 kilos. I have now changed my profile settings to 'maintain weight' and it automatically upped my daily calorie limit to 1530 per day. When I eat 1530 calories, at the end of the day when I click 'finish logging for today' it tells…

Improving my shape without dropping weight/inches
Hello guys, I've been on MFP for almost 1 year 10 months up to now and I've lost 17 kgs, starting from 83 kgs. I'm female, 22 years old, 165 cm, and now weight around 66 kgs, which puts in me in the high part of the healthy BMI range for my height, but I think I've come very far and I'm satisfied of the result. I have…

How often do I need to rest my body?
I am looking for some help. I lost a ton of weight in January and February. During the month of January I went to the gym twice a day and since the first of February I started only going once and I have not missed a day in the gym except for sundays since. I lost a total of 26 lbs during those two months and I am now…

Is it normal to maintain on 1200 cals?
About six months ago, I struggled with restrictive eating habits and I finally broke out just recently. I upped from about 500-800 calories to 2000, and I gained a lot of my weight back. I am now at 5'6", and 115 lbs but I fluctuate like absolute crazy to the point where I can't tell if I'm 112, or 120, or somewhere…

Questions for Gastric Sleeve patients 2+ years out...
I have some questions for those who are a year or more out after a Gastric Sleeve surgery and have reached a comfortable level of loss or reached their goal. I was sleeved about 15 months ago and have happily more than exceeded my goal. I am 4 mos into maintaining but I continue to be worried about my calorie intake. After…

So disappointed in myself :(
I started off around 2 years ago at 13st 2lb and a size 16 (I'm 5ft 9). I decided enough was enough and I lost weight by using mfp and entering a mini triathlon. Through running, biking, swimming, bit of insanity and 30 day shred, plus the calorie counting, I got down to 11st 6 and size 14s were a bit loose on me. I…

Ladies: Body Fat
I asked this in the losing weight forum and got no love. So here goes: are any ladies 5'8 with 20 percent body fat? I'm curious how much you weigh? I'm sure the amount of muscles, etc play into it but since this is my goal I'm just wondering what the range would be

How do I know what my daily calories should be to maintain?
So, me in a nutshell (hi everyone, first time poster!) I was over 350 lbs for about 30 years (yes I know.... I really know). I had gastric sleeve surgery and changed my life, my diet, my exercise... everything. I am sitting at about 160 now and have been weight stable for about 4 months. I think about exercise, food, life…

How do you reward yourself?
I reward myself in different ways for meeting my fitness and weight loss goals. I know that my profile says that I lost 8 lbs. However, I slacked off last year and stayed away from myfitness pal. I gained 8 lbs from my original profile settings. So, since returning to the site I have lost 15 lbs. I reward myself by: buying…

not wanting to work out..
I just hit maintenance this week, and since then I just don't want to go to the gym anymore. I don't know if it's because I'm on break from school, or because I feel like I'm done, but I just don't have the energy or the desire to go to the gym anymore. It's a little bit disheartening, and I don't know what I should do…

I want thinner, more toned thighs?
I am perfectly happy with my upper body. I have a nice looking stomach, arms, shoulders, and I have a nice collarbone. My only problem is my thighs. They arent fat by any means. But I would love for a more toned look, maybe a thigh gap. Anyone have any good exercise routines for making them smaller and more toned? Or diet…

Nearing the end of my rope...
I have to vent. I'm in maintenance, but id like to be a little more fit. I exercise daily, but I still eat too much sometimes. Sometimes is okay, it typically happens on the weekends, but also when I'm bored and I feel like I have no control. I'm very small, so I can maintain on very little, but I exercise so I can eat…

How do I maintain? Who is the MFP expert out there?
I finally did it this last weekend!!! I hit my goal weight of 175 lbs. I lost 26 lbs since January 1st. I worked my butt off. Now I need to know how to maintain and I am looking for all you MFP experts. I have always hated lifting weights because I was so skinny growing up and all my friends were big. They would make fun…

Weight loss just wont stop or slow down
This is the start of my third week of attempting to maintain, but despite uppering calories every week, the scale continues to drop faster than ever. I decided to stop at 78kg, but now im 76kg. I'm eating to my calorie limit, usually slightly over, eating back my excercise calories, today I upped them by an extra 200, I've…

partys
When maintaining weight you should eat back your exercise calories, they say. But some days, like in partys, you eat above the maintaning calories and you get a little more fat, right? This can add up over a year. So is it a bad idea to not eat back the exercise calories, letting some calories avaible for this days?

Do you eat your maintenance calories, BMR or TDEE?
I'm so confused. If I'm trying to maintain my weight, do I eat my maintenance, bmr or tdee calories? Thanks to anyone who's willing to clarify this for me.

NET Calorie Value confusion
Okay so I am aware that to reach the NET goal you must minus your total exercise calories from the calories that you consume through food/drink however, what I am confused about is what the NET Goal value represents. The average for an adult man is 2500. Ive read in several places that eating roughly 200 calories less than…

Lifestyle maintainence question
I recently start the atkins diet (3 days ago) and have lost nearly a kg so far (water weight, I am told), and I need to plan ahead before I get too invested in this diet. I've heard a lot of things about people gaining it all back because they return to their past eating habits, and have decided that I am in it for good.…

Body changes while in maintenance?
Hi everyone, I apologize if this topic has been done before. I did a search and had some vague results, but wanted a more specific answer :) I am approaching maintenance (my deficit is only 125 cals per day, have been bumping it up gradually to make it easier to adapt and find an accurate maintenance figure) and I am…

Hungry, but don't know what to eat! (Flu)
So this is my first time with the flu, and I must admit, it's a lot worse than what I thought it would be! My chest hurts, my back hurts, I'm cold, throwing up, have a headache, and experiencing the WORST stomach cramps. Either I'm hungry, or I'm so bloated that the only way I feel better is by taking a nap. I really need…

Goal weight achieved...now what?
Hi! This is my very first forum post of which I created. I have had great success with mfp and lost 75 lbs within the last 7 months. I was on a 1250 cal a day goal though. I was ok with that too and felt satisfied. Now that I just want to maintain, I am struggling with knowing how much to increase my daily intake to. I…

Counting/measuring food
Hi! I lost a significant amount of weight over a year ago. My discipline slacked in the last few months (I also was not eating enough while I was losing the initial weight) and I have gained 15 lbs. I got really tired of counting calories and measuring EVERYTHING. Can anyone offer advice on how to overcome this...other…

Get in my belly!!!
First of all, I have just always liked that saying. Okay, for the last month I have been tracking my macros and I'm seeing great results. I'm losing fat and maintaining my ideal weight of 192-195 pounds. I'm still eating at a deficit, but I've essentially been at a ratio of 50% protein, 30% carbs and 20% fat. I've lost the…

Anyone lose 100lbs without hitting any plateau?
Curious, I feel like one of the very lucky ones, before I started, I heard everyone eventually hits the plateau, so I was prepared to expect one on my 100 pound loss journey. I had a few stalls, but they didn't last longer than a few days.
