Well, that made me laugh out loud, Connie! It IS head-spinning over there, but how fantastic! You know there will be many who will drop off or only post occasionally, but it will still be a huge group, and you are doing a fine job marshaling it all right now.

I like the idea of keeping in touch here as well - there's no place like home, as Dorothy said! Speaking of that, my son Matt arrived home from Arizona Friday night (well Saturday at 1AM!) for a week's visit! So happy to see him, and he looks healthy, though his heart is healing from a breakup. As a parent you hate to see your child hurting, but all I can do right now is give him love and listen when he wants to talk about it.

We are having the most gorgeous day here, and I intend to get out and enjoy it! Love you all, and wish you a happy Sunday!

    Good morning!
Marie good for you. I'm sure it will all come off quickly.

Belinda Im glad to here your son is visiting.

Well this looks like the place to be :):).

It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day in sunny California. I am so sleepy though. I don't know what I was think but in offered to babysit a 8 week old for the whole weekend. She came over Friday at 6 am and doesn't leave until 10pm this evening. Mind you my youngest is 11 and I am 42. Now I see how I gained so much weight when my kids were infants. No time or energy to workout. Looking forward to Monday.

Marie-glad some of your water weight is coming off, the rest probably will this week.
Sunny- I definitely dont have the energy for a 8 week old, thats why we have babies when we're younger, I hope your day goes smooth, and you have alittle time for yourself.
Belinda- glad your son came home to visit, sounds like he needed his mom, after his break up.

:) Awhile ago I joined a challenge thread for doing squats. There were over 100 people who joined the challenge. I joined a few days late. By the end of the challenge there were only five of us left. I doubt that all the people on the 4th of July challenge will stay. I read all the posts every day and it makes me happy. I love coming back here to hear from all of you who have been around for awhile.

Marie that's some good progress! You'll get there in no time.

Belinda have a nice week with your son! You're probably the therapy he needs right now. And enjoy the sunshine!

Barbie it seems to already be slowing down a little. Unless that's just because it's Sunday. I "only" have 50 new posts to read over there so far today.

Marie, Glad you are getting rid of those watermelons!!! I knew you would.

Belinda, So glad you will have a chance to love on your son and help ease his pain.

Barbie, I think the July 4th thread will thin out like your squats class did but you never know,
it is such a good place they might stick around. We will probably have to prop Connie up if
it stays like it is now.

Rachel, You are doing a great job helping out on the busy thread.

Sunny, All I can say is bless your heart!!! You have to be a wonderful person to volunteer for that job!!!
    Then comes Monday!!!

Janice, Good to see you too.

Missing hearing from most of you guys. Just way too many people. So I come by to say Hello to you all if you happen to read this

Funny. I pop in here once in a while too. I read the posts just don't always respond. I agree with the head spinning. I'm back to swimming today. Hopefully the knees will take it. Not sure why they were so sure yesterday. I can't say happy Monday But yeah it's Monday. It snowed last night about an inch and then it has been raining for the past few hours so it is so sloppy. I hate that. But at least it won't be icy and I don't have to shovel it.

Nancy-I see you have been helping motivate on the new thread, it looks like a lot of people are fairly new to mfp. I remember how reading all the motivating stories helped me when starting, and still do.

Esther-sorry about the snow, I'm tired of it ,too. I think we're done with it finally, it has been warm and sunny lately, its suppose to be 78 today. I know your in Alaska, so I dont really know how warm your weather gets, hang in there it has to get better.

Connie and Stephanie-I think the new challenge is starting to ease up, I ddidnt have near as much to read today, alot of good losses are showing already.

Marie-sounds like you have a busy week, with going to grocery twice, you can get more fresh produce, I went yesterday to grocery and got the litte tomatos, grapes, pico di gio (I use that on alot of foods) lettuce, I plan on eating some salads this week.

The reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want the MOST for what they want at the MOMENT.

Gretchen Rubin, the author of several great books including "The Happiness Project" wrote this list of loopholes that people invoke to justify getting off the path to what they want.

The ten — yes, ten — categories of loopholes are:

    1. False choice loophole – “I can’t do this, because I’m so busy doing that” – this is one I often use, myself

    2. Moral licensing loophole — “I’ve been so good, it’s okay for me to do this”

    3. Tomorrow loophole — “It’s okay to skip today, because I’m going to do this tomorrow”

    4. Lack of control loophole — “I can’t help myself”

    5. Planning to fail loophole, formerly known as the “Apparently irrelevant decision loophole”

    6. “This doesn’t count” loophole – “I’m on vacation” “I’m sick” “It’s the weekend”

    7. Questionable assumption loophole — “the label says it’s healthy”

    8. Concern for others loophole — “I can’t do this because it might make other people uncomfortable”

    9. Fake self-actualization loophole – “You only live once! Embrace the moment!”

    10. One-coin loophole –“What difference does it make if I break my habit this one time?”

Yep 2,6,9 and 10 things I won't use again. Even if it is a holiday or special weekend I will log my food. I am not on an special diet plan. (The vegetarian thing was just for 21 days at the beginning of the year) but I realize I always have to know what I am putting in my mouth.

I remember Barbie posting this and we need to post on 4th challenge, not sure if I can, maybe I one you that is better on the computer can, I think it would be great on that thread.

I'm trying! Haha. I'm seeing some new people starting to support and encourage each other too, so that's good! Gotta get everybody fit this year, next year when I have school and work I don't think I'll have time to read as many posts. You know what's great about trying to keep up with all these posts though? I'm not eating while I read, so it's a good distraction from snacking. And you're doing a great job managing that thread, Connie. :)

Hi. Had a great swim. Almost back to normal. I will pray for you sunnyfarm. I get kinda lost with all of the newbies on the other thread. I have a feeling that a lot of them are a flash in the pan. Most just want to look good in a bikini. The rest of us are in for the long haul and the lifestyle change. There are a few new ones that seem like they are in for a while but I am curious to see how many are currently in the challenge versus how many will finish the challenge. I might have to ask Connie to keep track of that..........

Anyway. Snow is all gone thank God. I love the rain. I don't have to shovel it. Lovesretirement. I will try to send some your way.

    Esther
