What do you add to your tuna?

I have been mixing a wedge of laughing cow cheese to my canned tuna which is pretty good. But I'm looking for more ideas. What's your favorite thing to add to canned tuna?

Today I had tuna mixed with a hardboiled egg, horseradish sauce, and mayo (I use the stuff made with olive oil since it tends to have fewer calories). The laughing cow wedge is my usual trick, though. Along with onions, salt & pepper.

I used to add eggs, celery, onions, mustard, chili or cumin, parmesan chees, change the mayo to yogurt or just use vinegar. After a while I burned out on canned tuna and can't remember when I last had a tuna sandwich. ;-)

I like it with just a little bit of mayo and diced pickles mixed through. Sometimes I'll add some low-cal crackers, too.

Mom's recipe (and I've been hooked since I was young)
    • mayo (Helman's preferred)
    • sweet relish
    • Hard boiled Egg whites*

    Yumm.
*Come to think of it, I don't know what became of the egg yellows. I suspect they found their way into something else she served us. :(

My husband calls it "kitchen sink tuna". I put in mayo, mustard, dill pickles, finely chopped onion, chopped olives, pickled peppadew peppers, and black pepper.

Greek yogurt, mustard, paprika, salt, black pepper, green peppers, onions, relish, boiled egg = my standard tuna salad.

The Greek yogurt is a new twist though, I've used light mayo before.

  • Mayo, sweet relish, boiled eggs, salt and pepper. Cucumber is good too. I once had a tuna sandwich in Scotland that had a bit of sweet corn mixed in. It was really good too.

At work though...I just gobble it out of the pack with nothing in it.

I put mayo (mccormick's with lime juice) and finely chopped up celery... I'm going to have to try the pickles or relish on my next tuna!! :flowerforyou:

I used to eat it straight out of the can with light creamy cucumber dressing. Got burned out on it though so now it's the standard mayo, onion, pickle, and celery

I use tuna, sweet chilli sauce teamed up with some steamed rice, & sliced spring onions nice and filling but quick and easy.
  • I add lemon pepper, green onion, garbanzo beans and a small (T) amount of unflavored, plain Greek yogurt to my tuna.

Mayo, sweet pickles, onion, and garlic powder. Basically as much as possible to keep it from tasting like tuna!

Miracle Whip and hot dog relish. 1/2 Tbsp of each for 2 oz of tuna.
  • My favourites are 1 tbsp of Classico garlic Pesto or 2 tbsp Classico extra garlic Bruschetta mix plus a sprinkle of parmesan cheese or 1 tbsp of light mayo plus 1 tbsp of golden italian dressing

Avocado or pickles. I also sometimes just have it with mustard - doesn't taste as bad as it sounds and so much lower in calories than mayo.
