We need the moisture, but it's a bummer it wasn't the other way around. Next time it's this cold on Easter, I'm putting handwarmers instead of candy and dollars in the plastic Easter eggs. I could imagine my family fighting over who has the most handwarmer eggs.
My sister & I hid one of the plastic Easter eggs in the pooper scooper .
Lol! Did it have a good prize inside?
Yeah money. No poop was in the pooper scooper.4 -
I finally feel like I've been back on track the last few days. Tracking my food honestly, and healthy enough for the gym.
This morning's weight was 183.2. Coach wants me down another 3 pounds in the next 2-3 weeks, so I can eat up into my next meet, June 8. Completely do-able.6 -
My logging has been slop lately. Like I know in my mind where I'm at, but I haven't been bothered to count super accurately. Plus my husband has been helping me cook, and he's also a throw stuff in a pan and call it dinner kind of cook. So instead of following behind him and scanning every barcode to create a recipe I've been just finding "close enough" entrees and hoping for the best. Due to a newly discovered food allergy, I have also been keeping a food diary. So it's hard to stay motivated to log it all perfectly on MFP when I am also writing it down. I guess the important thing is I'm logging, lol.4

My issue was that I would log everything in the morning, before breakfast. The numbers (cals/macros) would look awesome. Then, throughout the day, I'd grab a handful of caramel M&Ms from the secretary's desk, justifying them because the rest of my day looked so good. I wouldn't log the M&Ms. Then I'd go home, and snag a couple extra items there, too, and not log those. I was probably adding a good 500-600 calories to my day, at least, and convincing myself I was still doing awesome.2

Hmm Sounds like all the crystalized ginger I ate yesterday that did not get logged! New discovery. I could not stay out of it. After every meal I would grab a piece and munch away. 1 serving is 130 calories, and I think I hit that amount. I was too lazy to find an entree for it and add a piece every time I ate one.3 -
My logging is nonexistent. I didn't go particularly crazy over Easter, but then again I always eat too much chocolate!
I'm donating a few Easter goodies to the food bank tomorrow. The grandparents forget the kids to not need that much chocolate (I've given them plenty, I'm not mean) and if it stays in the house I will eat it. Hopefully it'll cheer up somebody's day.3 -
I need to clean up my logging and be more honest with myself about it. I fill my days, but like Quik, not logging extras.1

A few days ago, in a Body Combat class, I managed to knee myself in the face super hard. So hard that I had to leg it out of there because blood just started streaming from my nose down my face.
...I did not let on that I did this to myself. I didn't think it was even possible for your knee and nose to collide!!! So in a way I'm a little impressed as well...hahaha
Also, In body pump once....tricep track. Was doing overhead tricep extensions and smacked myself in the head with a 5kg dumbell so hard I saw stars.
What is wrong with me?!4 -

You're a klutz, like me. Although I haven't kneed myself in the face since my first. 9 lb kid was born. My low back isn't flexible enough to do that any more.2 -
Do y'all mean that I am supposed to log my food here rather just chat with my friends? I haven't logged more than 5 days since my surgery and I may not have logged that many.
I'm not a log it in the morning and stick to it kind of girl and I have had several days this month where I didn't eat anything until 1:30pm because work is a nightmare. My department director (my new manager's boss) is trying to fix that. She knows I will quit before I make myself sick. I'm eating pretty much whatever is handy when I get hunger and time at the same minute.

Hi guys! It's been a while -waves wildly-
Confession (more like a rant): I'm sick and tired of being sick, and it's making me really depressed. I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with me, but I feel like there's something stuck in my stomach all the time. The pressure in my abdomen is awful, I'm in pain all the time, having constant acid reflux, super nauseous, and my stomach is so puffy and bloated that it looks like a marshmallow. I can't eat much volume (anyone who looks at my diary will note that it's full of cookies because I can't get my calories up any other way) or drink enough water, so I have horrible headaches and I'm dizzy and weak all the time.
Thanks to some lovely ladies in the slightly-odd gastric emptying thread, I think I have some clue of what's happening... But the medical procedure I'm scheduled for isn't for a month and I have to live with this until then. I'm super down in the dumps.
Sorry to hear that life is difficult at work right now, Mel! I hope things get better soon. And glad to hear that you seem to be getting a little bit of mojo back, Tami! Or at least faking it until you make it.5 -
@Susieq_1994 *hugs* That is no fun! I have chronic heartburn, bloating and all that fun stuff myself. So, I can imagine. I just went in to the allergist last week (for asthma, actually), and found an allergy to yeast. I'm hoping that will solve some of my stomach discomfort. Have you tried taking H2 Blockers(Pepcid) or Proton Pump Inhibitors(Nexium)?? They help keep all the heartburn & indigestion at bay for me. Always seems to come back as soon as I quit taking them though. But, maybe they might help you out until you get in to be checked out? Otherwise, peppermint essential oil, or ginger tea has helped to soothe my stomach in the past. Also, I chew tons of gum, and it helps keep the acid down throughout the day so I'm not eating tums all the time. I hope you get some anwsers!2

Eh, I would say to hell with logging after surgery myself. Worry about it after you're fully recovered, ya know? I hope your work situation gets better! Not eating until 1:30? Not fun!2 -
I'm so glad to see you, @Susieq_1994, and so sad you're having such trouble. HUGS!1

@Susieq_1994 , good to see you here again!! I hope it isn't a hiatal hernia. My sister had on of those and had many of the same symptoms you have. I hope you find answers soon.2

Yeah, it's fun alright. I'm glad that you were able to get some answers, I hope that was the trigger and you can eliminate it to fix the problem! The GI specialist gave me ranitidine (brand name Zantac), which is an H2-receptor antagonist. It does help a lot (especially at night, since being horizontal is basically the worst), although it doesn't eliminate the pain completely. I've also got a strong anti-emetic drug for the nausea, but that one doesn't seem to be doing much.
I'll definitely try the gum! Sadly, tea is another thing I've had to limit because liquids are making my stomach even more uncomfortable. I hope the gum helps, because I'm only allowed two of the Zantac pills a day and I take them in the morning and at night (the worst times) and in the middle of the day the drug effect tends wear thin. Also, I'm going to have to stop taking it for a full 14 days before the procedure (and avoid all antacid products) so I might just go ahead and die at that point.2 -

I'm glad to see you guys too! I've been cheering you all on from the background, although I've been MIA for a while. I hope all is well with you!1 -

Hi LeeAnn! Long time no see for sure. I really hope it isn't that. From what I've found out so far, it might be gastroparesis. The GI specialist that I saw didn't tell me anything in terms of an actual diagnosis, just scheduled the gastroscopy, so I've been trying to figure out what it might be (because I'm impatient, and nobody likes a mystery ailment!). I hope he'll have some actual answers for me after the procedure, and I'll cross my fingers for something treatable!0 -

Maybe ask them about a PPI such as panteprozol or the OTC Nexium. The H2 Blockers work a little differently, and aren't as strong as Proton- Pump inhibitors. They are supposed to last longer then an H2 blocker as well. I swap back and forth between the two because long term use of PPI's can mess with calcium absorbtion. I thought it was explained to me once that H2's coat the stomach, preventing acid from reaching your stomach lining, and PPI's prevent your stomach from producing as much acid all together. But don't quote me on that. My googling isn't supporting that explanation, lol. If ginger tea is a no-go you could always try crystalized ginger. It's supposed to help a lot with nausea. I'm not sure how it does for heart burn. I'm not convinced it works for that. But it sure tastes good! It does seem to soothe indegestion. For the bloating, have you tried gas-X (simethicone)?? Not sure if that will work, but just throwing things out there you might try if you haven't already. Once again hope you get some relief soon!1 -
