    Just for today 4/04

    1. Overcome the "weekend attitude" - This goal helped me through last week :)
    2. use time alone to get the house clean, maybe even the floors :open_mouth::) even the floors got cleaned
    3. Try to stick to 10k steps and not go over too much - sounds odd, but everything I've read said the body needs one day of rest, so today is the day :)
    4. log everything :)

My little guy is sick today. (little, he'll be 15 next month) Anyway, our Easter plans are now staying home and not infecting others.

    Just for Today 4/05
    1. log everything
    2. now that house is clean, tackle yard. Mow, weed, plant wildflower seeds
    3. gym for strength training
    4. back up to 17K steps for the day

Just for today ( Easter Sunday)
    1. Log food if I feel like it . I did log my food at the end of the day but I only guessed because I didn't measure. I only went about 650 calories over my normal limit which I don't think is too bad. And I went for a nice walk after dinner.
    2. Count calories if I want to
    3. Enjoy my family and guests
    4. Indulge in a bit of dark chocolate
    5. Have a Happy Easter!

Ok. Now for the hard part...back to being in control...

Just for today ( Monday April 6)
    1. Take breakfast, lunch and snack to work
    2. Carefully control carbs. No Candy or bread.
    3. Walk at least 1 hour, more if possible.
    4. Stick to 1200 calories

First time to post here. Would like to lose 50 pounds! I'm quite skeptical about it. Sigh, well, here goes! For today, which is fast passing by!... I will do some stretching! I actually have some other things I would like to do that would burn more calories, and I will put them on my maybe list. However if I can even just do the stretching for example some restorative yoga poses, I will be happy. In the past "over goaling" has been an issue. Am peri-menopausal, and metabolism machine seems to be broken! I gain weight just breathing air! Anyway, will try again!

    Hi Joyfii! Welcome!

I have several serious metabolic problems. I've still managed to lose 89 pounds.

    You can do this.

Today I will walk >10,000 steps, will stretch and begin to work with kettle balls. Log my food, drink my water, and learn to appreciate feeling hungry. I will not let obsessive worry and anxiety rule my life today.

Today mine is kind of silly. I'm in a good mood and I'm enjoying the songs that are bouncing around in my head today and keep "dancing" in my chair and cube. So my goal is to not get caught but to keep dancing as long as this mood lasts.

    5. Have a Happy Easter!

Those were lovely goals, and I pretty much adopted them for myself. :) Hope you had a blessed day!!

Two good things happened over the weekend:
    1. I took a break from my calorie goals, but still logged. I think I ate pretty close to an "appropriately weighted" person. i.e., for the most part of the weekend, I ate some, felt full, stopped...enjoyed my firsts, didn't take seconds. I didn't feel pulled in and sucked away by food. That is a nice feeling. :)
    2. I had a stressful weekend, and my usual go-to reaction is FOOD--Ben & Jerry's, donuts, candy bars...keep going. While I was as at a store, instead, this time I thought: "No, yuck. I really don't want anything. I'm just going to buy the (non-food) thing I came here for." I think that is about the first time I have ever been feeling unhappy and didn't have to talk myself out of food/avoid temptation.

I am really wanting the end result of this journey to be that I have not only healthier outward habits re: food, but a changed inner thought process!! Still have a ways to go, and I am really wondering how it will be once I've lost the weight, to "wean" myself back to a maintenance cal. amt.?!?!!

    Just for today:
    1. Resume cal goals
    2. 3+ pints of water/tea
    3. Exercise 30 min.
    4. Take lots of deep breaths.

I've really appreciated reading so many of your goals which have to do with stress management, life organization, inter-personal relationships--all of those things that often drive us to seek a false sense of peace/fulfillment from food! It is so true that we need to get all of our life balanced :)

I'm right there with you. Walking into a store and not having to talk myself out of binge-trigger foods would be such a peaceful experience. Congrats on getting to the point where you actually don't want it (even just once is a success)!!!

Can really use this today! Last week I had a lot of work/social activities and was not able to prepare many of my meals. I still stuck to plan with the exception of yesterday's dinner, but I'm back on track this week and looking forward to preparing food that I know is healthy and delicious.

    Just for today, I will:
    1. Go on a nice walk and hit 13,000 steps
    2. Drink 1 gallon of water
    3. Stay under 1300 calories
    4. Celebrate my victories!

    3. gym for strength training :) talked my BF into coming with me to "spot" Since I had a spotter I felt more confident in trying heavier weights
    4. back up to 17K steps for the day  Didn't quite make 17K

Man it feels fabulous starting my week with a house and yard that are all "put together"

    Just for Today 4/06
    1. log everything
    2. 30+ mins cardio
    3. get menu planned for the week, and shopping list together
    4. drop off stuff at Goodwill on way home

You can achieve any goal you set yourself if you DECIDE you're going to do it. So perhaps just decide an achievable yet stretching weight target for just this month... then use this thread to make a daily commitment to it here.
so... break up the bigger goal into smaller chunks and decide you're going to do it.
We all have off days. And... We can choose whether to let that beat us, or get back up and keep going.

    Good luck.

Well have had a very indulgent 2 days with far too much chocolate and wine. And I've enjoyed it. And partially balanced by double bootcamp then 2 hours of gardening today (over 1000 calories of exercise).
    Back to it from Tuesday
    Goals are:
    - stay within calorie limit
    - no sugar
    - check into stomach to gauge real hunger levels regularly
    - enjoy my extra day off and the garden. What a joy that sunshine finally came today... spring at last!
