Though I've hit a bit of a weight loss plateau these past 6 months, I'm trying to figure out ways of incorporating more cardio into my life and maybe changing things up... definitely need to work on the diet part of my weight loss. Ugh. But I don't think I could ever give up lifting, addicted... thoroughly addicted.
Do what you want, do what makes you feel good and the rest will fall into place. It feels good to be strong, I'll take that any day.
umm so you are back squatting 585? Or are you referring to leg press?0 -

yes, you need to learn how to cook, clean, do laundry, and keep your man happy ...because lifting is only for men.

I compete in drug tested federations (and am one of a 'natty' team of bb'ers and pl'ers), so throwing out accusations of being on gear probably miss my sarcasm meter more than other comments do.I compete in drug tested federations (and am one of a 'natty' team of bb'ers and pl'ers), so throwing out accusations of being on gear probably miss my sarcasm meter more than other comments do.
eh. wasn't an accusation- that makes it sound like I thought it was wrong- when I just don't. I have no issues with people on gear. It's an openly free subject for jokes to me. Sorry you don't feel the same. NMP.
Semantics.
Also...assumptions.
I was explaining why I did not get the 'sarcasm;. Also...snark...nice!.0 -

Do you mean you went from 1 rep with 45lbs each side to 6 reps at 45lbs each side?

I'm happy for you, and I'mma let you finish, but cooking is a man's sport. TWO INGREDIENTS ENTER, ONE SURVIVES.0 -

I have been doing arm and leg weights for about a year now. Really enjoy it and love the results I have got from it.
As I have been doing it for a while now I recently increased the frequency and weights I am doing. For about two months now I have been doing weights 5 days a week for about an hour each time. I have put on about 5 pounds and my measurements are getting bigger too. This isn't what i was hoping to achieve!
Do you think it's because 5 days a week is too much? Or is it because the weighs I'm using are heavier? I know women shouldn't bulk up from doing weights but is it maybe better to use lower weights and do more reps as opposed to heavier weights and fewer reps?
I'll just leave this here...

Staci on the right is 11 Lbs heavier than the picture on the left...because she got so "bulky" power lifting.
Also remember that "heavy" is relative and doesn't necessarily describe the actual weight being lifted...it is descriptive of the rep range. Typically "heavy" means strength training (not in the general sense...but actual strength training) which is generally done in the 1-6 rep range, usually at 80% + of your 1 RM0 -

she needs to spend more time in the laundry room and less time I the gym ....waaaaayyy too bulky...0 -
As heavy as you can. Max it out. If your measurements are getting bigger you might be eating at too high of a surplus.0

In 8-9 months? My guess would be leg press - but even that would be 665 lb total (assuming a 125 lb sled). I'm not believing this one either. In fact, I'm less inclined to believe this than the other.0
