I am 33 years old and 5'3". I started this difficult journey in Jan of 2014 at 205lbs and I had JUST hit a size 20!!! In Dec 2014, I got down to a size 8 and around 135lbs! I feel great and am loving who I am becoming now! I'm learning a TON and meeting a lot of great people in the process.
I came across MFP in June of last year. I have kept a moderate calorie deficit pretty consistently (500 or so each day), with my carbs and protein around 100g each while lifting weights regularly (in my home with my own collected equipment), 5-6 times/week. I didn't do much cardio, as I don't enjoy it. I do run on occasion though. I feel empowered now and I absolutely LOVE strength training! Planning to take new progress pics at the end of June so I'm looking forward to that.
Best wishes to you all, anything is possible if you don't give up!

Thanks! Yes maintaining is important!! My baby will be 13 months old this Sunday and after gaining almost 50lbs during the pregnancy, I only have about 10 to go to reach pre baby weight again.
The results come by making it a lifestyle! Thanks for your comment.1 -
Awesome!!! I love weight training, even if I haven't seen the success you have.1

very insperatinoal I am working hard and very determined to get healthy and fit for myself as well as my family I've noticed cardio holds no interest to me I do it but I really like spending my time over at the weighted machines up right rows, leg press, hip abduction, I thought maybe I'm taking the wrong approach now I see that what I want to do can be achieved with proper deficit and strength training Thank you!!!1

Almost 2 years ago, I posted my story here and have received SUCH an outpouring of love since then. I shared what lifting weights on a calorie deficit can do but today, it's been almost a year exactly between these photos and it's quite a different story than the first time, lol..
First photo here was 2 months after my baby was born last year and I was STILL 180lbs after gaining over 50lbs during the pregnancy. I was miserable with myself at that point. The after is from yesterday, I'm down almost 40lbs, currently a size 10 with roughly 10lbs to go before I get back to pre baby weight.
I haven't been tracking my food this time but I have been mindful of what I eat (for the most part) and I try to remember what I learned by logging for a couple years earlier, implementing it every day. It's also been tough to work out as much as I'd like to but we do what we can, right?! I may get a work out in twice a week if I'm lucky.
When I first lost 75lbs back in 2014, I did it in 11 months but with regular exercise and consistent, better nutrition.. I thought after I had my baby last year, I would do it again just as fast. NOT SO, lol..
Looking back, with no kids at home and all the time in the world to focus on myself, it was relatively easy to lose the weight once I set my mind to it and knew what to do. After the baby however, it's been MUCH harder for me. Slowly but surely, we're getting there again though.
I'm just a regular girl who's been overweight my whole life. If I can do this, YOU can too!14 -

Great update congrats on the baby. Babies make everything different about life don't worry about it. One day at a time. I just had my 7th in September and I'm the smallest I've been in at least 5 years and that's not saying much!
You look fantastic!2 -
Thanks guys, I'm not sure why the photo doesn't come up in the message! Sorry about that!!0
