I was wearing 16W last week, this week straight 16!! In fact the capris I am wearing right now are almost falling off! I do not like to wear belts but I guess I will.

***Struggles - I had a small hiking trip this past week, which was great and I hiked over 9 miles (22,000+ steps according to my fitbit), but I didn't plan so well food wise and ended up eating fast food for my meals, which pretty much offset the majority of the calories burned by the hike.

So happy for the month did not reach my goal but no hurry, 2 weeks holiday in Thailand with my Girlfriend and eating very nice things, did not gain anything and then 2 days in Legoland with my son for his 12 Birthday and had some sweets but still lost so all good. Slow and easy.
Looking forward if the 2 number barrier can be reached next month will try and start moving more and do some body weight training and keep the calories where they should be

Start: Successes/struggles this week: I really liked the June Challenge as it made the overall tendency more visible. Early May was when I started here on MFP and there is some progress. I am very happy about it! I weigh myself daily but obviously there are fluctuations, so with the weigh-ins here it is easier to notice a general direction. Was hoping to start July with half a kg less, well, no. Still, I start July with 3 kg less than June, so HURRAYH!
Week 1: No exercise this week, I have been ill and it is really hot so I feel rather weak. Weather changing now and a cold can only last so long so I hope for a change next week. Also a bit of a motivational low as I am exhausted and tired in general so I am giving in to stupid snacks a bit too often.
Week 2: went to gym a couple of times and that was great. last weekend was bad though, party - food, drinks... and the day after with lots of carbs and pizza. had planned swimming yesterday and couldn't go because of dentist emergency. frustrating as I miss my regular swim classes a lot! on the bright side: there is a tiny loss and I am healthy again. I feel my motivation is back and so I am usually less in danger to make stupid choices. 4 day visit to my parents coming up - might be tricky but I feel strong enough not to fall into old traps.
Week 3: went to gym only once (but a good one ;-) ), no proper exercise but lots of moving and playing with my kids at the grandparents' garden. I was down at 82 before and gained a tiny bit during our stay. I am still under 83 - my magic barrier I couldn't cross for so long - and I am highly motivated. I can see my body changing (other people can, too!) and I feel rather relaxed about reaching goals at a certain time. It is a lifestyle change after all and I am planning to live a long life, no rush.
Week 4: was at the gym twice, swimming twice and - with 2 exceptions - fairly good with my calories. was down at 81.8 for 3 days, yeah! then I had a bad meal last night (it looked nice and lean on the menu but it must have been full of sodium and secret fat). still feel slightly sick and bloated and frustrated as it was not even great. It made me gain half a kg and now I am grumpy! I hope there will be some weight coming off the next 2 days...
Last Days: yes! didn't reach my goal but that's ok. 2kg and a bit lighter than last month - it works and I am very happy about that!0 -

Successes: Finally slid off the 3 week plateau, after a marathon day of cardio exercises. I am pre-planning menus every morning to stay under 1200 cals. I include little portions of treat foods throughout the day so that I don't feel deprived. It seems to be working very well at the moment. Started the Game of Thrones challenge on Sunday and have already completed my set targets for the week.
Struggles: Several social events threatened to derail my plans, but I just made sure I did extra cardio to offset any lapses.
Week 2

Successes: Upped my activity since last week because of Game of Thrones. I was MVP for House Baratheon for Week 1 and have already completed my Cardio/Strength/Flexibility targets for Week 2.
Struggles: Completing some of the Strength/Flexibility exercises, (press ups, planks, etc) was difficult. I had to do them in short bursts and my muscles were screaming afterwards. I surprised myself at just how much I did in the end.
Week 3 On holiday

Successes: I got in loads of exercise which I hope will counteract the holiday indulgence. We where self-catering. I took my food scales with me, and I planned the catering so that helped.
Struggles: We ate out a few times and I had hot chocolate too often. No access to body scales for normal weigh-in.

Weight lost/gained this month: -3
Successes: I made my July target! I have been doing extra work on strength and flexibility exercises for Game of Thrones Challenge. Have also lost 0.5" off both hips and waist this month.
Struggles: On holiday from 22 - 25 July and put on 1.5 lbs, but lost it very quickly when I went back to 1200 basic daily cals.

Wow, I really knocked it out of the park, this month. I thought I did well last month when I lost 4.5 kg, but wow. And I had a lot of struggles with plateauing, being tired and not pushing myself as hard. I think it's maybe more difficult because it's not as new to me anymore. I've gotten into a routine, so I don't feel quite as motivated as I did before. I think something I'm gonna have to really work on from now on is perspective. I often get disheartened if I haven't lost very much that week, but will quickly forget that the previous week, I lost a ton. I think a key for me is gonna be constantly looking back as where I was before. Two weeks, one month, three months ago, where was I and where am I now? I think that's what I'll really have to look at to keep myself motivated.
I have a photo project that I'm working on. I'm taking a photo of myself every month to document my weight loss. The first month I tried this, I didn't feel like I'd lost that much. But when I compared the photos side by side, I was amazed. I'm gonna be doing another one in a few days. I can definitely see and feel a lot of differences, so I'm really excited for that. Like I said, though, I think I'm gonna have to really keep reminding myself of the work I've done and the progress I've made long term, rather than just in the past week or past couple of days.0 -

I'm still trying to find the exercise that will grab me. Had a disastrous Boot Camp experience with a bunch of youngin's! Started Zumba and walking buddy once a week. I cut out alcohol about 2 weeks ago as a quick solution to reduce calories. Thought that would make a bigger difference on the scale. Need to keep up w tracking to strategize. Probably it will be to reduce fruit and add more fish.
