    Happy 4th of July!!! Thought for the day: Is a holiday celebration really about food? I think, perhaps, it is about relationship. If we focus on the people we are with and not the food surrounding us, we may find a balance in the celebration. Enjoy you day!!!

    Hi everyone :) I'm so excited/ nervous to join this challenge. I'm fairly new to MFP and have never posted my weight before. I've set a big goal for myself but believe I can do it! Down 11 lbs since starting my lifestyle change on May 28th. We can do this!

    - wine and sweets are my weakness. It is my goal to have only one bottle per week (so 4 glasses), while I'm losing weight.
    I can't control myself around candy... If I have it in the house I will absolutely consume ALL of it - typically at once. So, this week I commit to NO candy.

    I would like to join also. I am traveling this month, so it will be a challenge to eat well when I am not in my own kitchen. I will be visiting friends, so I will have others deciding what is on the table. I am also traveling in areas known for their great food, bread and wine. I am also 5'8, and I would like to lose eight pounds this month, and 30 pounds overall.

    Welcome 1225dietwoods! My travel challenges usually pop up in Europe where the food and wine is so wonderful. Embrace walking! Hydrate with a lot of water and eat lightly but pick a meal to enjoy fully. No guilt involved! Is this a special vacation? If so, perhaps the goal should be maintenance not weight loss. It goes back to that life balance/joy. I am sending lots of positive thoughts your way!!!
