Um...very recently you posted a thread about how you only like to eat super light foods at the beach. Now you're posting about being hungry at the beach. Do you not see the connection at all?0

maybe the heat is drying out the food and making it less calorie dense? that must be the answer..it can't be that OP nets 1200 calories a day..0 -

Oh for crying out loud!
I can say for sure that this topic has been covered thoroughly.
Yes, I am aware that I'm burning too much and not eating enough.
I'm working on it.
So.... is it the sun? the heat? the air? what could it be??
I don't usually drink alcohol. I used too... too much! Now I save it for just once in a while, at a party or a night out or whatever. I just don't have the "off" switch when I start drinking and it's not fair to my husband or friends to assume that I have a baby-sitter for the night. I quit for a long time and now when I do drink I'll have one or two and it's like firewater! I'm native american so that's the running joke with me and my group of friends
No. You're not eating enough. You can't continue the 3-4 workouts a day, netting less than 1200 calories and think you're not going to be hungry ALL.THE.TIME.
@cushman5279 perhaps your usual 3-4 workouts a day give you an exercise high that is masking your hunger, and your hunger is revealed on days that you are more relaxed. Eat more every day and problem solved.

OP's diary looks fine to me.
So eating 1,229 calories yesterday and logging a burn of 1,018 looks fine to you? Are you high?
And yes Cushman, when I don't *properly* fuel my body ... I get hungry. It doesn't matter where I am at.
We need a separate flag for "this poster told the truth and I did not like it," I see.
Anyway. I do get very hungry at the beach, and after the pool. Maybe because the time of day is when I usually begin eating anyway (as opposed to early in the morning after a run), it just feels like I'm hungrier than I get when I do cardio on land.0 -

Nets 1,200? You mean nets maybe 200 on a good day. She net -78 on Wednesday. And 211 yesterday. *sigh*0 -
I think this post may be a cry for help. OP, I read in another thread you were going to see a Dr. Did that happen?-1
-
Ignoring the obvious as it has already been covered in this thread and a previous one...
My mum would've said it was the sea air. Good for your appetite (according to her!) and maybe there's something in it - I'm always ravenous by early evening if I've spent the day at the coast.0 -
cushman5279 wrote: »Okay seriously?
Let's assume for the purpose of this post that my diary is normal and that this wasn't a previous topic.
*ahem*
So... I am wondering what it could be. Maybe the sun? or the heat? It's just funny to me is all.
But we can't assume that. Your diary is not normal (I mean, it's normal for a chronic undereater). You are barely eating enough food to cover your exercise burns which is leaving nothing to power your normal bodily functions.0 -

Okay then. Nevermind. Don't mind me, or the elephant in the room. Was just trying to post a lighter topic, not a biggie. My eating habits and exercise habits are a different topic.0

Hence many people being totally unamused with this, and we've told her to please seek professional help in the past already.0 -

Haha! That's excellent. I love all of those old sayings and wives tales and what not. Sometimes you have to wonder if there is truth to them Whenever we had a sun shower my grandmother would say that pigs are getting married LOL!0 -

They aren't, though. Your ravenous hunger is integrally related to your low calorie intake.0 -

ummm how do you separate eating and exercise from being starving? You are starving at the beach because you are not eating enough.
I live in Florida and weekend beach outing area regular. I usually have a large breakfast and then we all go to the beach and post up, paddle board, swim, drink etc; by the end of that day, I am pretty hungry, but that is because I skip lunch. I don't think at the end of the day "wow, that was a hot day I guess that is why I am hungry"..no, I am hungry because I only had breakfast...0 -

You posted a topic asking about the beach making you feel hungry. Knowing your history, because it was just something that was recently discussed, a number of people understand that you are not eating enough and from the looks of it even when your body is telling you that it's hungry you are still not listening to it. I really hope you are forthright with the doctor you see next week, because you need help. This is not a "lighter topic" that can just be ignored when you're putting on display how disordered your views on food and exercise are.0 -

It's actually not. The two are closely related.
On the topic of the beach... laying out in the sun... dehydration and all that.
PSA: Sunburns can make you retain water. Off-topic, I know, but it's true.0 -

Oh interesting. I didn't know that sunburns can make someone retain water! Good to know.0 -

Allllright then, let me make a comment and ask the question in a different way.
Comment - I don't eat enough. That's why I'm hungry at the beach. The end.
Question - For those of you who do eat enough, and for those of you that frequent the beach..... do you find that you are hungrier than normal when you spend a day at the beach?
Better?
I am beating a dead horse at this point!0 -

No. I typically eat more than usual because I know that I generally exert more energy at the beach walking through sand, playing in the water, & running around with the kids than I do during my normal daily activities (sitting at a desk for 8 hours). Comparing my experience to yours, however, is pointless because I'm addressing my energy needs by eating enough food.0 -

this is a ridiculous question.
If you eat while at the beach you would not be hungry ..if you don't pack a lunch and skip it you will be hungry.
The beach and atmospheric conditions have NOTHING to do with hunger.0 -

Gross. I had a sunburn so bad in Florida that my back was covered in those little sun blisters. Someone thought it would be funny to slap my back and their hand came away visibly wet.
